All The Yelpy Ladies Elite Event at Spa At Dana

I’m not sure what I can add that hasn’t already been said, but I guess I can hold my hand up as the 18^th vote for a truly 5-​star Unilocal event!
The ambience, service and staff at Dana was great and the Unilocal team was truly outstanding in their coordination and hospitality!

What an AHHHHHH-​maaazing event. It had all the key components to a relaxing night: apps, wine, facials, massages and great company. The massage I received was drool-​worthy and left me wimpering for more (darn the 20-​minute services). My micro facial was not so relaxing, but it’s not meant to be. It definitely zapped away my dry, dull skin and left me all glowy and dewy and ready for the rest of the night. And the rest of the night was lovely — red wine, awesome selection of cheeses and great conversation. I met some fabulous ladies and learned about stinky cheese… LOL.
Like I said, it was ahhhhh-​maaaazing as in the most relaxing, yet fun events I have been to in awhile. Thanks, Johnny T. and Dana Spa for hookin’ a sisa up! When is the next one? =)

LOVED this event! My favorite Unilocal event so far. I had Jenny for my aromatherapy massage and Kate for my hot oil hair treatment and would gladly go back to see both of them. I never knew I had so many back knots and left feeling relaxed and refreshed.
The cucumber/​strawberry water was the best water I have ever had and all of the treats from Aja were delicious. Thanks for such a relaxing and fun event!

This was an amazing Unilocal event! I was so relaxed and could not have been more pleased with my foot rejuvinating service. I have to say the aromatherapy massage was a bit harder than I expected and actually left me feeling bruised a bit. The food was delicious and the wine was spectacular. Unilocal did a great job with this event and Dana Spa did a amazing job making every Unilocaler feel like it was their day to shine!

Such a treat! I couldn’t have asked for a more wonderful Tuesday night.
After an exhausting day of work being greeting at a lovely spa with wine and snacks was perfect. They had a fantastic selection of snacks from Aja which included cheeses, fruits, and chicken skewers. The red wine they were serving was equally delicious.
I was able to mingle and meet more Unilocalers while I waited for my treatment. I had a massage with Jenny. I was transported into a peaceful state I was unaware of previously. She was able to be both firm and gentle working knots out of my lower back.
I already booked an appointment with Jenny for next month. I think I will be returning to the Dana Spa on a regular basis. It is the perfect retreat in the middle of river north.

Unilocal sent a spa virgin to experience an evening of decadence and pampering at the Dana Hotel & Spa. They sent her to venture into the unknown world of plush robes, fruit infused water and aromatic steam. At first I was apprehensive, — usually when I’m wearing a robe in public it’s after being ordered to strip and wait for the doctor to arrive. Now, I was huddled into a cozy (note: small) locker room with some Unilocal superstars, trying to figure out the best way to transfer from street clothes to plush robe without going full-​frontal.
Once that hurdle had been surpassed, I was free to indulge in fresh fruit, wine and cheese with the best of them. Although the relaxation room was a tight fit, that didn’t keep all of us from unwinding and becoming fast friends.
The two 20 minute treatments were divine. I don’t know much about physiology but my aromatherapy massage turned my body to oozy jelly while the energizing scrub perked up my feet to quite possibly dance on the ceiling. Opposing sensations simultaneously harmonizing is definitely worth further research… in the name of SCIENCE!
So I write this review as a call to action: I implore all of you « Unilocaly ladies» to join me in further spa exploration. Unilocal,you have done well in converting me over to the soothing side.

What a beautiful spa… top notch with a personalized touch and boutique style appeal. The staff at the spa really rolled out the red carpet for us.
Now onto the treatments… Jenni worked magic on my shoulders and Erin gave my feet a little TLC. I’m so glad I discovered this spa. I can’t wait to return… I already booked my next service.
It was great to sip a little wine and mingle with the ladies in between treatments. And I’m still wondering what kind of delicious cheese that was…

QUEEN FOR A DAY are the only four words that come to mind when I think about this event.
The whole experience from start to finish was absolutely divine. The spa is small but gorgeous, clean, and well-​appointed. The locker rooms are really nice and I loved that they gave us gift bags with some great goodies in them! The treatments were great, and I loved that between them you could hang out in the relaxation room, munch on some yummy treats, and of course gulp down wine (maybe I’m the only one who gulped…) The spa staff were all excellent — so friendly and courteous and helpful and smiling. Just really made you feel comfortable and taken care of. And the other Unilocaly Ladies were awesome! It was so great to just meet some wonderful people over some wine, delectable treats, and spa treatments.
It was my first Unilocal Elite event and now the bar is set pretty high! Can’t wait to see what’s next ;-)

Seriously, Unilocal,what did I do to deserve this?
An awesome group of ladies, a beautiful spa, and get gorgeous spa treatments makes Jen a happy girl. This was the perfect after work destress event. The amazing staff was super sweet and beyond organized. Upon arrival everyone had assigned lockers, goodie bags waiting for them (more on that later), and an amazing selection of tasty bites and yummy wine. The comfy robes, the loungy relaxation room and the convo with all the ladies put me in the perfect chill/​relaxation/​time to get my spa on mood.
For my two mini services I had the microderm facial with Deanna and the energizing leg and foot treatment with Joyce. My facial was perfect, with a quick swipe of the mircroderm machine and the choice of a massage or extractions afterwards. I left super relaxed and was loving my skin the next day. The Zents products used during my leg and foot treatment not only smelled great, but left my skin feeling super fab. The only thing missing was some massage work, but I noticed the other spa tech, Erin, rocking some massage magic during the same service on the other ladies, so I’m dying to try her on my return visit. I also heard rave reviews for Nichole and her massage work. And about that goodie bag… beyond the samples, we all received an exclusively dana card to come back and try everything at the hotel at an amazing discount. So ya, you’ll def see me back at the spa, not to mention the Vertigo Sky Lounge, and then I’ll grab some products, and then… ya, maybe my wallet isn’t as excited about this discount card as I am.
Anyways, there’s few Unilocal events where I look better coming out than I did going in. For that, I give Johnny & Co. an A++.

nothing like a weeknight spa session to get you through to the weekend. :)
last night, i was pampered like a princess thanks to johnny t at the dana spa. now, i had been to the dana hotel before, but never to the spa — in fact, i didn’t even know they had one. walking into the spa (on the 4^th floor) the aesthetics were very sleek & clean. i was greeted at the desk where i filled out my paperwork & then headed to the ladies’ locker room to change into my robe & slippers (oh la la.) my two appointments weren’t until 7 & 7:30 so i had some time to nibble on the spread, have a glass of wine & mingle with a few ladies (shout out to fran & anna — two first time Unilocal event-​goers!) the layout of the spa itself was fairly small, but gave a off a homey-​like vibe, not a cramped one.
before i knew it, kate whisked me away for an aromatherapy massage & a hot oil scalp treatment/​massage. the aromatherapy massage was ammmmaaazzzziiiiinnnnnggg. i told kate to focus on my upper back & she did a great job of getting many kinks out in just 20 minutes, without going deep tissue on me. the hot oil massage was something new for me & i’m glad i tried it; it was a great experience & my hair feels super soft today!
the cherry on top was the friends & family card i walked away with that gets me 20% off anything at the dana hotel. incredible!
thank you, thank you, thank you to johnny t. & team for organizing (these events just keep getting better & better!) and the charming staff at the dana. i feel so lucky to have been selected for this divine event. the next time i need a spa treatment for myself, or to buy as a gift, i know right where to go!

This was my second Elite event and I must say it was FABULOUS.
I arrived around 6pm and after filling out a form for my massage, was given a goodie bag escorted into the locker room to change into a super comfy robe. I was a little worried that my ginormous work bag wouldn’t fit into the tiny locker, and that was seriously the only concern I had during the entire evening.
The Spa’s reception area is a bit small but the staff was so friendly and was great at making sure that everyone was comfortable in the relaxation room as well, that the intimate quarters didn’t really matter. My treatments didn’t start until 8pm so that gave me time to munch on tasty hors d’oeuvres (that cheese was amazing! The veggies were fresh! The chicken was so moist!), sip Shiraz and make new Unilocal friends, which I appreciated, being a newbie to the Elite squad.
It was a little awkward being in robes when everyone else wasn’t but I got over that thanks to the great company of my fellow Unilocalers. Finally, at 8 pm, I got my first mini treatment, an aromatherapy massage with Nichole. Those 20 minutes were amazing; she asked me where I had a lot of tension and focused on my back and shoulders, yet I still felt completely relaxed from head to toe.
My second mini-​treatment was a microdermabrasion facial with Deanna. I’d never gotten microdermabrasion before, but Deanna and other spa staff were so thorough in their explanation that I was not worried at all. Deanna made sure that I was completely comfortable and was very thorough with explaining everything. It was a great intro to a treatment that I have always been curious about and will try sometime in the near future
I booked a massage with Nichole for next month and will definitely be back to the Spa, since everyone was so professional and nice! I really enjoyed this event– great job Johnny T and Unilocal

This was my first ever Unilocal elite event!!! I feel so honored that I was invited to such an extraordinary one. I met so many great women and had a fabulous time.
Johnny: It was great to meet you. Thanks for planning such a perfect night. All the little details were noticeable and helped make the event special, inviting, relaxing, etc!!!
The spa at dana hosted a wonderful event. The staff was extremely friendly. The spa itself is a perfect mix of modern and minimalist décor with a relaxing theme. They have this wonderful water in the relaxation room that had limes, lemons, and melons in it – yummy and refreshing!
My spa treatments were perfect and just what I needed. I had a leg treatment with Joyce and she was soooo wonderful! Next, I had an aromatherapy massage with Tim, also equally as wonderful!!!
One of my favorites things from the night was the comfy robe!!! I felt so warm and relaxed as soon as I put it on. It was really luxurious!
Overall, perfect night out!

Great event! I got a facial and a massage. They were 20 minute «tastes» of the real thing but they were fantastic. The staff was lovely and we received top notch service. I also really appreciated the estheticians taking the time to discuss products for my skin and offering suggestions without pushing product.
Definitely needed that massage, I could feel a million pounds of stress melt away. I was quite pleasant on the el ride home and that never happens! The citizens of Chicago thank you, as do I.

Every Sunday for as long as I can remember, I have sat down and made a To-​Do list for the week. There are usually recurring items, such as exercising, cleaning my car, and writing 1 – 2 Unilocal reviews per week. After last night, I now know why I tend to average 1.5 Unilocal reviews a week, but yet my car still looks like a family of four lives in it week after week — because nobody spends 20 minutes massaging hot oil into my hair or energizing my feet by gently exfoliating them and then applying a clay mask after I vacuum my floor mats. It all makes sense now!
Before I arrived, I made sure to don my finest pair of Target sweatpants. Oh, I was ready for relaxation. We all changed into our spa robes and slippers. Being the trailblazer I am, I was one of the first to hit up the food table. With meat on a stick in one hand and a glass of wine in the other, I felt like a total baller and I hadn’t even started my treatments yet!
I am trying to grow out my hair to donate at the end of the year and sometimes my long hair is less than cooperative. With it being so long and dry at the ends, I was extremely happy to get the Hot Oil Hair and Scalp Treatment. Nichole really worked her magic. She even threw in a neck and shoulder massage for good measure. Looking at my hair today, it is definitely shinier and less damaged.
My second treatment was the Energizing Leg and Foot Treatment with Erin. I hate my feet and getting them to smell like roses after a day in steel toed boots is a tall order. I am really ticklish and Erin’s ability to slough off dead skin and massage my feet and legs AND make them smell good without having me jump through the roof was extremely impressive. She was so easy to talk to; I found myself practically giving her my life story!
It was a wonderful opportunity to meet the lovely ladies of Unilocal.I loved the group dynamic last night and I am looking forward to seeing them again at future events!
Props to Johnny T for really knowing what the ladies want! If the men in my life had the responsibility of coordinating such an event, it would likely result in a combination of setting off the smoke detectors and TV.

After a week devoted to the twisted pleasures as defined by Leopold Ritter von Sacher-​Masoch (ya know…“masochism” in plain words) I was more than ready for some well-​deserved pampering.
Self-​torture is not really in my blood anyway.
Well, ask and you shall receive! Our beloved CM must have some secret way to access my thoughts because two days after I completed my first marathon, here he comes with a All-​Lady Spa Event… with a leg and foot massage option, no less!
Can we say, best timing ever?!? (well, a week earlier would have been perfection… but damn Unilocal Chicago do I love you)
This event was simply awesome. Two free 20-​minute treatments in a posh spa on a rainy Tuesday night? Hell yeah! And you can even choose what you want? And you get to undress, wear a super soft and plush bathrobe with assorted slippers and drink wine and munch on cheese and talk as if you were not naked? Oh. My.
Oh and what you say? you leave with a complimentary goodie bag and 20% off on your next visit? Am I still on earth or somewhere really high in nirvana?
The staff was incredibly nice, helpful and professional, and convinced me to come back for more me-​time. As for our team of Unilocal beauty heroes they look as dashing as usual, and welcomed us with a smile and a cracker in their hands. I heard that a couple of them are cheese addicts. And one of them hates my dog for some reason. I still cannot figure out why. But I forgive everything to anyone who gives me a foot massage.
Ladies going to Potter Lounge tonight… you missed on! :)

I got so damn lucky yesterday! I don’t know who the unlucky lady that had to drop out yesterday was, but I’m so glad she did. I am grateful for being able to take her place at the last minute.
This was so wonderful. The Spa at Dana really knows how to pamper! The staff was so sweet, friendly, and helpful. The technicians were amazing (Tim and Nicole).
I cannot believe the amazing events that Unilocal Chicago plans. Everything is so amazing, and Johnny always seems to be in a good mood. Maybe Johnny has a time turner like Hermoine had. This is how he can arrange so many fabulous things and still have time to happily greet everyone.

All the Unilocaly ladies definitely got our relaxation on at this event! From the plush robe and slippers to the refreshing wine and appetizers from the Dana Hotel’s Aja restaurant, and of course the spa treatments we were pampered to our heart’s content.
The Dana Hotel itself is decorated in a minimalistic fashion, but still manages to be inviting and elegant. The Spa at Dana is decorated in a similar style, but uses a lot of warm colors and makes one feel quite comfortable. Greeted by several spa hosts we were oriented to the locker room and spa area. Next, we got to hang out in the relaxation room while wining and dining (and of course talking). My favorite part was the delicious water in the relaxation room – chilled and mixed with strawberries, cucumbers, and melon – yum!
The aromatherapy massage was fantastic and I was so sad that it was only 20 minutes long! Nichole was my masseuse and she definitely knew how to target my knots, but without making me wince in pain. I was so relaxed at the end I even started to fall asleep. My second treatment was the microderm facial, which I was rather apprehensive about, but Deanna, my esthetician calmed my nerves by explaining everything she was doing to my face. She also gave me some great recommendations for my skin and I could tell she was experienced and knowledgeable in skin care. I don’t even know which treatment I liked better, they were both amazing and relaxing in different ways. I will for sure be returning to the Spa at Dana.

The only accurate exclamation to describe this event would be:
JT: You’ve thrown so many wonderful events for us, I feel like I’ve overused «best event ever». But I swear… this was the end all/​be all/​final/​complete/​total/​undeniable/​completely/​without a doubt BEST EVENT EVER. I am officially banned from ever using that phrase to describe a Unilocal event from this day forward.
Upon arrival we were greeted by the spa staff, then whisked away to the locker room. We were given a locker stocked with goodies, a gift bag, personalized itinerary for the evening, a comfy robe and slippers.
Then…are you ready Unilocal dudes?
Here’s where it gets awesome…
We all got naked!
Alright, not really naked. We just changed into our robes and slippers. But I swear I may seen a nipple or two. Be jealous.
After we all slipped into something a little more comfortable ;) We were once again whisked away to the lobby that was stocked with wine and an assortment of fruit, cheese, crackers, veggies and other tasty nibbles. Honorable mention goes to those meat skewers… they were so delicious!
We were whisked away AGAIN to the Relaxation Room. There we lounged on chaises, sipped wine and waited to be called in for our services.
My first service was the Energizing Leg & Foot Treatment and Erin was my technician. She was SO sweet, easy to talk to and very skilled her job. My treatment began with an exfoliation, followed by a clay mask and a wonderful massage on calves/​feet. I’m on my feet A LOT for work and now they feel like a million bucks!
My second treatment was an Aromatherapy Massage with Nichole. This was by far the best massage I’ve ever had. I have some killer knots in my neck/​shoulder area and usually there’s a bit of pain involved in breaking those suckers down. In the short 20 minutes I had, Nichole was able to relieve a ton of tension/​tightness by applying effective pressure with no pain. It was wonderful!
My services were scheduled early in the evening, so afterwards I was able to lounge in my robe/​slippers and compare notes on services with all the friendly ladies that were lucky to attend. JT: You picked a great group! Everyone was so nice :)
After we ate, drank and girl talked we headed back to the locker room. We were able to enjoy some time the steam room and freshen up. And, unfortunately, head back to the real world.
Johnny and (super intern) Yanyao: You guys really pampered and took such amazing care of us tonight. I am so grateful I was able to attend this event. THANK YOU!!! Beyond amazing. I could keep gushing, but I think you get the idea :)
