You gotta a guy? Then you need Tony. We’ve been going here forever, seriously. In fact, everyone we’ve ever referred is still coming here. Tony is fair, honest and he does great work. No scams, no tricks.
We’ve had a few used cars over the years and I love it because Tony us honest and he tells us when it’s time to sell and find something else. Now with our new cars, I would not trust the dealer for any service, even the routine ones. Not to mention, Acura dealers are outrageous. I mean let’s face it, if you have to wonder if you’re getting a fair deal, then you’re not. That’s why you need to go to place you can trust.

I live a couple of blocks away and stumbled across Auto Tech when I needed new brakes before taking off on an journey. The price was right, quoted right on, and completed on time. I have been going there ever since. People who I have reccomended this place to would echo my sentiments. Do not hesitate to go to Auto Tech

I wanted to get a tune up, so I bought all the necessary parts and after seeing all the good reviews for this place, I decided to try it out. I am absolutely satisfied with the service. Tony is great! He is nice, polite, and honest. He is also fair with prices. My car is now running smoothly. I will definitely come back for any of my car needs.

Tony is the man. It takes a while when you move to a new city to find all the professionals and businesses you can trust (mechanic, dentist, doctor, dry cleaner!) and I’ve found the mechanic I can trust to do a good job and not overcharge. I found his place by accident and will now drive 5 neighborhoods away to go there.

I found Tony (Auto Tech) recommended on Angie’s list. And so far his work has been great and prices fair. I had a problem with the car running rough that even the dealer had me in 3 times and couldn’t fix. They misdiagnosed it but Tony fixed it with just a tune-​up. He charges what he quotes and in the end sometimes it turns out to be less.

There is simply no other place to take your car for repairs.
I was introduced to Tony and Auto-​Tech when I had an issue with my car years ago. Literally everyone at the business I worked for took their cars there, including my manager who is usually so protective of his cars that he won’t even let anyone else even clean the snow off of them!
Tony is fair, honest, and does only what needs to be done. He will tell you up front what you should expect to pay, and what you might need done in the future, but not now. He doesn’t shrug off any work, big or small, and always greets me with a smile.
If you live anywhere on the North Side of Chicago, don’t even consider going anywhere else.

Having just moved to Chicago this past Summer, I had no idea where to take my vehicle when it started to stall out. I asked friends, but couldn’t get a clear, convenient answer. So, I decided to turn to Unilocal.Since I live in Irving Park and had a car that was stalling out I didn’t want to travel too far. Auto Tech seemed like the perfect location for me. Since I work all day, I needed to drop it off after-​hours, so I called and chatted with Tony who informed me of the drop-​off process, The next day Tony called me with his diagnosis and I was pleasantly surprised with his honesty. Telling me exactly what I needed and didn’t need at a very fair price. I picked up the car tonight and all is well. Needless to say I made the right choice and will continue to as long as I own a vehicle.

AWESOME SERVICE! I literally just picked up my car from this place. I brought it in yesterday on an expired plate sticker with next to zero time left on the extension i got out of the DMV. The car had failed the emissions test the first time with a dead sensor, bad air filter and messed up exhaust.
Not only are the prices awesome… but the service was fast, thorough, AND he even took my car to get emissions tested a second time. had the pass report sitting under my work order when i came to pick it up.
I am NEVER going anywhere else. and you shouldn’t either. :)

I first sought out service at AutoTech to repair my car after a failed emissions test about 2 years ago. AutoTech came highly rated by the Air Team booklet provided by the Illinois EPA.
Tony, the owner at AutoTech, was extremely helpful in resolving what turned out to be a bad plug that the state inspector failed to recognize during his somnambulant approach to my emissions check. Tony quickly resolved the problem, informed the state that my car was in compliance, and recommended some preventative maintenance for me to contemplate. He was no-​nonsense about the preventative work, and did not employ scare tactics or strong sells that I’ve seen elsewhere. In turn, I have returned to get work done on my two cars several times in the past couple years.
Just this week, Tony replaced all four tires on my car, including balancing and realignment, done to my complete satisfaction. He also did an oil change, which I appreciated. Many full-​service mechanics refuse oil changes due to the low margins. I appreciated the «one-​stop» shop.
I would recommend Tony’s AutoTech to anyone looking for an honest, friendly, no-​nonsense mechanic. Thanks Tony – you are the best!

I can’t say enough praise for Tony, he’s really the honest old fashioned mechanic of our parents time. I went to him to check out my A/​C problem, and while no A/​C work is cheap by any means, he definitely came out to be much cheaper if I were to go anywhere else in the area. After being told on the phone that there’s a $ 80 diagnostics fee (standard industry fee), I brought the car in having a pretty good idea what the problem was already. Since I did my research and knew the general problem with the A/​C, I went ahead and purchased the parts on my own. Tony replaced all the parts, cleaned/​flushed the entire A/​C system, and recharged it also looking for leaks. All this was done in a matter of 2 days, without any hiccups at all. Not once did I feel I was being pushed around or being forced into fixing something that wasn’t needed.

I have been coming to Auto Tech for years and can’t say enough good things about Tony’s integrity, fairness, and honest consideration for the customer. He only recommends what is necessary and I can’t imagine he’s making a fortune on the very modest labor rates he charges. It doesn’t look like he’s making out with anything on the parts either so I can only guess he loves his work and pleasing the customer more than money –a rarity for any profession, but most notably for a mechanic. For example, one time I had an issue with a noisy muffler and thought I’d need a section replaced. Tony pointed out it was a loose heat shield and that it was not really necessary for the functionality of the vehicle. What did he do? He spent about 20 minutes removing the excess metal and, just for giggles, adjusted the engine to increase pickup. Then he took me on a test drive to demonstrate the noise free improvements. And what did it cost? Absolutely nothing. Tony let me go with a handshake and got in return something much more valuable — my absolute trust and permanent business. I have since moved to the far Northwest suburbs (about 30 miles away) yet I’m going to continue making special trips to Chicago for the caliber of service alone. He’s really that good. Take your car to Auto Tech and you’ll truly know the peace of mind of having the trust in your mechanic fully rewarded.

Tony is the BEST, people! He’s the only mechanic that hasn’t talked down to me about my car because I’m «a girl». He has saved me a ton of money in unnecessary repairs. He’s honest, which is a rare quality in auto mechanics. The first time I brought my car in, he pointed out repairs that my previous mechanic did wrong, did unnecessarily, and didn’t do at all! I was just in there this past weekend, and I’d given him an estimate that Midas gave me when I got an oil change. The estimate totaled over $ 500. Tony could have said «yep, you need this stuff done», but he didn’t. He did only one of the 4 recommended repairs and found one other problem and fixed it. My bill was $ 150. I will continue to bring my vehicle to Auto Tech and recommend them to all of my friends. Go. To. Auto. Tech. Seriously.

My experience with Auto Tech Service was great. I don’t know much about cars, so I had originally taken mine in to the dealer when the Service Engine light came on. They wanted to charge me $ 150 an hour just for labor and fixing my car there would have totaled about $ 1700. I found Tony and Auto Tech Service on the Better Business Bureau website, and being the techie I am, was happy to see that they had a pretty nice website (complete with a picture of Tony). Not only is Auto Tech registered with the BBB, but they’ve got ASE certified mechanics and are approved by the AAA. At the time of this writing, they were charging $ 70/​hour for labor (so already, half of what the dealer wanted). Tony estimated 6 hours of work, and completed the repairs in 5 and a half (the dealer estimated 7 hours). My bill came in at $ 740 (including tax, which wasn’t on the dealer estimate of $ 1700), so that was a 57% savings for me. I’d agreed to have the oil changed since it had been about 4 months for that, but Tony was nice enough to let me know that the oil was still fresh on the car (guess I haven’t been driving as much as I thought), and saved me another $ 18 right there.
