I didnt expect the crowd to be so… vanilla. Reminded me of the jim crow days, because the only black people there were the ones on stage lol. Even I seemed to be a subject of intense scrutiny to some, «Look sweety, theres another one… theyre so… primitive». Im kinda big on atmosphere, and I just wasnt expecting that. The music was very good. Will opt for something less touristy next time.

Love, love, love, absolutely love this place! There is a cover charge so make sure you have cash on you. The place is small and cozy which gives it a pretty intimate and relaxing vibe. The talent they have coming through there is nothing short of excellent! This is a great place to hang out, have a few drinks, and enjoy outstanding music. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a local blues bar to end their night. The music is great, the vibe is chill, and the people are awesome! You’ll for sure have a great time at B.L.U.E.S.

The night we went, there was a great band! We went to Kingston mines across the street, but quality of music could not compare!!! Show up early to ensure you have seating. Be prepared to have happy ears for some amazing blues!

We came here on a Sunday night. Thanks to Unilocal,we got buy one get one free offer. Costed us $ 8 for two people. We got lucky and our ticket was valid to enter Kingston mines, the blues and jazz place situated opposite to blues. But we enjoyed music in blues than Kingston. I think the music had rock music fusion with blues and jazz. I m not a big fan of blues but enjoyed this experience completely.

Loved it here and you’ll love it here too! There’s a $ 10 cover which is completely worth it. t’s such a small place with cheap drinks and live music. The closer you are to the front of the stage the better. I came here on a Saturday night and saw Carl Weathersby and he was absolutely rockin’. I wasn’t sure what to expect when coming here. I don’t know if it’s because I’ve never heard the blues live, but it’s something you want to experience. Go here now and you won’t regret it.

An amazing experience in a place with a totally authentic and feel-good atmosphere. If you have never been here you are needlessly depriving yourself! You don’t have to be a Blues«fan» to have a wonderful time — you just have to enjoy music! We saw Smiley Tillmon and he is superb!!!

Music here is insane. You won’t be disappointed. Raw, gritty, sweaty. It doesn’t get much better than this. $ 10 cover when we went, sat up close and wasn’t tooo loud but was def an experience. Would return. Would recommend to tourists looking for authentic Chicago Blues in chill environment. Also recommend showing up at least 30 min prior to music if you want a seat.

Outstandingly perfect when it comes to what anyone with soul wants to find while in the heart of Blues Music. It gets packed with incredibly friendly people during the performances, and the bands are so spot on with what I wanted to go see while I visited Chicago. It’s not if, but when I come back to the city that I’ll drop in for some mo’ blues. Drinks are very affordable(I come from LAla land, the city of over-priced snobby bars), and the waiting staff is awesome(especially considering that the credit card machine is still connected to dial-up internet).

What a fun place to go and see some great music. I was visiting a friend so I Unilocaled live music and we ended up here. So glad we went, we really enjoyed ourselves. It was a packed house on a Friday night but we lucked out and found seats right next to the stage. The server was super friendly and efficient and the cover was only $ 10.00. Drinks seemed affordable. There is even a little room to shake your groove thang if you’re into that. Check it out.

Five years ago for my wedding anniversary, my husband and I came to visit Chicago. We had no idea what to do, so we looked in the paper and saw that their was live music being played at B.L.U.E that evening and decided to go. We had such a blast that every time we come back it is a tradition to go. We have also been to the House of Blues and prefer B.L.U.E way better.

I saw Carlos Johnson and the Serious Blues Band and was absolutely floored! Best blues I’ve ever heard live. Couple that with a small, intimate venue and extremely friendly staff and I had an incredible night. I’d strongly encourage anyone(local or visitor) to stop in as it’s worth the trip to Lincoln Park!

I came to hear some Blues. And that is what I received. Some good wholesome blues. It was nice to hear some Chicago blues. The bar wasn’t what I imagined, but I came for the music. The bar was old but I noticed not being from Chicago that is the way things were here. No updated properties but it may be as the result of the rash weather that they endure. It was a nice place to go for blues. And to hear the wonderful Eddie Baan Shaw band. Very nice.

Small joint and fun as can be!!! Saw Carlos Johnson here last night. Croud was packed in and there were a ton of 21 to 25 year olds; that is great to see. Low cover, decent beer prices. Super small 1 person bathrooms.

Awesome joint, very authentic and true to the city. If you want real blues, come to this spot. They won’t discriminate for using a groupon! Lovely bartenders, great atmosphere. The friendliness and good mood are contagious at this place. Also, check in to receive a Unilocal deal!

One of the best Jazz/blues joints I have been to. This is saying alot because I have been to a only a few spots like this so far, such as in NYC, D.C., and even in So. Cal. If you want a good introduction to Chicago Blues/Jazz, then this is a place to check out. The night I went, one of the bartenders happened to jump on stage, and started belting out some old Jazz tune, and wow for a white lady, she can sing: D I liked the band that night, it was mix of seasoned Blues guitarists and even this young dude playing his guitar as good as the rest of the old-Blues cats! hehe. If I am ever in the area, its my go to spot to listen to some great LIVE music!

Ziemlich nette Bar in Chicago. Zwei Konzerte jeden Abend. Klein und eng — das macht den Reiz aus.
