Awesome salon! I originally went to Bang when Johnny was still there. When he left (waaah), I bounced around to other salons and have now found my way back there with Kevin! He has been able to take my color mishaps from other salons and turn it into the ashy tones that sometimes elude us Asian dark-​haired people. He is very thorough in explaining what he’s doing and why he’s doing it, and he is also a perfectionist! I love the vibe in the salon and everyone is super nice.

Victoria did exactly what I wanted on my color! Turned out to be the perfect ombré with hints of rose gold. Will def be back! The salon is not the fanciest and could use a face lift but everyone there is super friendly and the skill makes up for the exposed wires/​iffy paint job. Will def be back to see Victoria!

This place is amazing! If I could give Bang Salon a six-​star review, I would! Eli, the owner, saved my hair after a disastrous hair cut somewhere else. I’m visiting from Seattle and I chose Bang Salon because of the reviews and incredible pictures, but I was elated by the results! I will come to this salon every time I am in Chicago!

I love this hair salon.
The vibe is just so chill and easy going. The staff are so super nice and friendly, but not in an overly «we’re trying too hard» sort of way. It’s a really down to earth spot with really great vibes and cuts.
I got a haircut with Dee and she is just fabulous. Really knowledgeable about hair and products – really excited about teaching about hair care and sharing some insights on how to manage my hair day to day.
I love Bang! Will definitely be back.

I hadn’t gotten my hair cut in over a year for several reasons. 1– I’ve been growing out a pixie cut and I really didn’t want to lose much length, 2– I have had a handful of bad experiences with stylists since I moved to Chicago, and 3– I am incredibly anxious about being told that I’ve destroyed my hair by repeatedly bleaching and coloring it. And then I met Dee. She helped shape my hair into a rockin’ look while keeping almost all of the length and gave me some great pointers on how to keep my hair happy if I keep experimenting on my own. She also may have convinced me to finally stop dying my hair (and my bathroom) alone and let a professional (ie: herself) help me with some rad colors. I had such an amazing experience and got so many compliments because I can finally wear my hair down with confidence!

Was recommended Lola for what look more or less I had described over the phone to the receptionist. WE HAD A BLAST!!! Nice being able to sit down with a stylist and give a little feedback but leave plenty of room for them to vision their craft in mind and leave them to their «art». That’s the way it should be in my opinion which is why you pay for such a quality experience at the end of the day. I have already recommended Lola to every person who has complimented my hair and would recommend Bang! Salon to all. My recent visit was decided after originally almost 7 years ago going to Bang! For my first time and it is awesome to see making a random appearance the consistency after 7 years still produced through their workers and brand. Cheers to the expansion and see you all soon.

Dee has been my hair angel for almost six years. She has tamed my unruly curls and convinced them to play well together. Her creativity and skill has kept me looking amazing and she’s so much fun to chat with also.
If you have unruly curls and need a hair tamer, go see Dee, she is a true artist!

Every time Anne cuts my hair I think to myself «wow this is the best haircut I’ve ever had!». She always listens to what I want and works with my hair texture to give me a perfect cut. I have had long hair for years and today she gave me an adorable chin length bob. The salon is very nice as well and everyone who works there has always been very friendly. I would highly recommend checking them out!

Lola is the best! I have had her cut and dye my hair twice now, both times drastic changes and she is knowledgeable and professional about what she is doing. This last time I wanted it cut to a certain length and she held my hair up and it was way shorter than I thought! I was glad for her advice as always. She knows when to gently question to make sure she understands that we are both on the same page. All the staff is friendly, It’s colorful, and it’s comfortable. I love Bang Salon, I love my hair, and I love Lola!

Eli is an amazing stylist in EVERY aspect. Eli also has an amazing team. I’ve worked with Victoria as well and I am completely satisfied with my color & cut. The prices are reasonable. The shop is beautiful and CLEAN as well.

Eli is the man when it comes to cutting and styling hair.
I had tried 4 different (top tier) Salon’s in the city, and no one cuts or takes the time to make sure your hair is perfect like Eli. The staff is also fantastic! Friendly, warm, and welcoming!
Definitely recommend!

Victoria is the absolute best. I’ve gotten my hair cut by her 4 times and colored 3 times. The very first time I went to see her, I had almost no idea what I wanted to do. Her input was invaluable and she gave me an extremely flattering cut that grows out nicely. Since my goal was growing my hair, that was pretty important to me, and she gave me a great cut — really thinned out my EXTREMELY thick hair.
The first time I got a color with Victoria, I went with a pretty standard red/​violet and she did a great job. The next two times, I went a little wild and got purple ombré that lasted (as long as purple dye possibly can) a good long time.
As long as I live in Chicago, I will probably not go to anyone anywhere else. I’ve recommended Victoria and Bang! to a bunch of friends and they have all loved it.

Ugh. Hate to do this but my color faded almost instantly. They suggested I make another appointment to put more toner on my already fragile hair. After my second appointment it only took another week for my hair to completely fade to a brownish color (the original color was a plum/​purple)
3 stars because Lola gave me a good cut and I was given the opportunity to come back in. However, I won’t get my hair colored here again.

Nisha painted the most beautiful color on my hair imagineable. When I say «paint» I mean that she literally, expertly placed color on my hair and painted an ombré sunset. I know I sound really cheesy, but I had never experienced such artistry with a hair stylist before! Nisha also recommends hair products and styling techniques that are important for preserving the color, only recommending products that are healthiest. I felt really comfortable with her because I felt like she truly cared, and wasn’t just trying to hawk the salon’s products onto me.
It’s clear that Bang Salon only hires the «best of the best» when it comes to barbers/​hair stylists. And they aren’t just stylists — they’re truly artists.

Lola Gives Me Life
I had ombré hair — natural dark brown roots flowing into golden pieces that framed my face. When I made my first appointment I was ready to go back to my original hair color but decided last minute to jump into silver hair. Lola was great at hearing out my concerns and answering all my questions patiently — even showing me examples of her own experience with silver hair. I was amazed at how light she got my hair to go in just one process! The results were amazing and she was great about giving me advice on how to care for my new do. I’ve had silver hair for about 6 months now and I receive so many compliments but what gets me every time is when they ask «Is that your real hair?!» Yes. DUh: P
Thank you Lola! for giving me the silver hair of my dreams and making sure i know how to care for it properly so that it’s not falling out and stays healthy. See you for my next touch up :)

After seeing the gorgeous color results on two of my friends over the past couple of months, I knew I had to bring my hair dreams to life and book an appointment with whom I feel is the most AMAZING colorist I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing.
Her name is Nisha. She transformed my hair, my look, and my overall aura into the most beautiful purple spectrum I only ever dreamed of!
I had been wanting to achieve a dark brown to bright purple ombré for months. I’ve only ever had dark color treated hair, and didn’t think it would be possible to lighten it without damaging it really badly. Nisha made my dreams come true, used a product called Olaplex to preserve the health of my mane and left me with stunning color that we were both so ecstatic about when it was all done! It doesn’t just look good. It FEELS amazing.
Nisha truly understands the science of color, listened to all of my needs and wants so intently, was so precise in her efforts and absolutely professional from beginning to end. I’ve been telling EVERYONE who compliments me to go see her at Bang! Anyone in her care will be nothing but pleased!

Problem Hair? Anne R is your lady. I’ve followed her through 2 other salons and she’s the only person that could tame my possessed curly/​wavy/​straight hair. She’s not afraid to tell me that my hair type will not work with whichever hair trend, and instead give me cut that I love even more than the trend I was infatuated with. As for color– I’ve received tons of compliments on my highlights, even after they had grown out a bit.
She does fantastic men’s cuts too. My husband won’t let anyone else touch his cowlick riddled head, especially with the «scratchy spot» that she conceals so well. It’s like a game trying to find it after he gets a new cut.
And with our combined cursed hair genes, I’m certain I’ll probably be taking our daughter to Anne as soon as she’s grown enough hair to cut.

This is by far one of the worst haircut places for men. I had haircut from Victoria. She had no clue on how to cut men’s hair. She cut my ear twice with scissors alright! She just doesn’t know how to cut it. She asked me million questions and asked my advice on every single detail. And this is after i told her how i wanted my hair done. I am a guy, it is not rocket science. How hard is it to cut my hair. She was confused, lost and eventually i made her stop while my hair still looked decent.
$ 35 for haircut and you have people on staff who are Unknowledgeable (i am being nice) to cut the hair.
