History

Established in 2011.

1415 N. Milwaukee, a historic Wicker Park building, has played host to multiple businesses in its 138 years of existence. The building was built in 1878 to house Charles Heinze’s meat market, in which evidence can still be seen by the epigraph in place on the top of the building. Mr. Heinze’s meat market remained a fixture of the old Wicker Park neighborhood for over 40 years. In concepting bar bar blacksheep, we wanted to bring to the neighborhood the same craftsmanship, intimacy and established relationship one gets from their local butcher. From craft cocktails to house cured and smoked meats, attention to detail and quality is emphasized. We also offer a modest rotating selection of craft beer from Chicago area local breweries.
