Meet the Business Owner

Nick T.

Business Owner

To say the restaurant business is in Nick’s blood is a huge understatement, it’s hereditary! Nick Tsoukalas learned the family business from the patriarch of his gene pool, Pete Tsoukalas, an ambitious and driven restaurateur from Greece.

Following in his father’s footsteps, Nick valued the work ethic and pride his father instilled and carried it with him to his first restaurant employment as a busboy at Rodity’s Greek restaurant. It was at this tender age of thirteen he learned the raw basics of the industry under his father’s guidance. Through years of hard work and focused understanding, Nick and his father opened Athena Restaurant in 1995.

Throughout the past 18 years, Athena has cultivated a following of almost religious proportions. The reputation Nick has built is quite prestigious, and has set the standard for food and service in Chicago’s Greektown. In every restaurant that Nick is a part of he brings not only his knowledge but his meticulous work ethic.
