Called Helen last minute, as we had just got into town, and realized haircuts were needed. Given we were 5 minutes away, she agreed to the last minute appointment. Couldn’t be happier with the haircut. Quick, easy, and relatively inexpensive. Would definitely go back.

Spectacular haircut and salon. Helen is absolutely the best hairdresser I’ve experienced in Chicago. I’ve lived here a long time, moved away and just returned to the city. Never have I had such a wonderful experience with a haircut. It feels very personal, and Helen takes the time to get to know you, and makes you feel very welcome. She gave me recommendations for my hair type and gave me a great look on leaving. Her pricing is great too.
I will definitely become a regular here and will not be going anywhere else going forward. Best Chicago Barbers it is. Give them a try — you will definitely return.

After 8 months searching for barbers (i also tried Hair Salon) I found Helen through a Groupon deal. She is so pro and kind ! Her and Civic barber are the best !

Whether you have been going here for numerous years or a first time customer, Helen treats you with professionalism that every customer will appreciate. She truly has a passion for what she does. Not only can you get the best haircut at Best Chicago Barbers, they offer manicure, pedicure, facial, shave and massage. Each and every one of these services are top notch! It’s like taking a vacation when you walk in to see Helen! Please do yourself a favor the next time you are in need of a haircut and/​or any of the other services they offer, and make an appointment. I have always had problems getting my hair cut at other places. I needed to go to different places because I couldn’t get my hair cut consistently from one time to the next. I’ve been here three times and they have all been great haircuts. I’ll continue to come to this place.

I just moved here from Texas and had been looking around for a nice haircut place. I live and work downtown and I like to get my haircut during the workday. You are able to schedule an appointment ahead of time and be in and out in 30 minutes.
Helen is great and she gets to know you while cutting your hair. Above all, the haircut was great! Will most defiantly be back.

Helen was nice enough to work me in for a haircut on a business trip. I found her to be professional and competent. I found her pricing to be quite reasonable given the gold coast location. However, the shop itself is decidely less affluent than its uptown neighbors (Harry Winston’s & Gucci).

Stopped in on a Groupon deal and got an amazing haircut from Helen. She was incredibly nice and accommodating even though I wasn’t entirely sure what kind of cut I wanted. She figured out what would look best on me and did a spectacular job making my hair look great. Highly recommended!

Best Chicago Barbers provides the best haircut experience I could ask for. Helen, who cuts my hair, is both extremely kind and talented. She listens to exactly what I want, and is skilled enough to make sure that that my hairstyle choice looks great.
Finding Best Chicago Barbers has been a revelation and I can’t imagine going anywhere else after getting my hair cut by Helen. An added bonus is that the cost for a haircut is the most affordable price I’ve seen in all of River North/​Gold Coast. I highly recommend Best Chicago Barbers to anyone looking for a great haircut.

I went to Chicago Best Barbers yesterday and had a great experience. I never know how to express the kind of haircut I want, but Helen knew what was best and I walked out feeling fresh. I typically get comments about the thickness of my hair, but she knew exactly what to do with it. More importantly, my discerning girlfriend approves of the cut so you know it’s gotta be good. Don’t judge a book by its cover! While this barber shop might not be as hip as the rest and a little dated looking the skill set of Helen and her manicurist can not be matched.
I had my head shaved and a manicure in such a professional and quick with fantastic results
These ladies know what they are doing and can put a barber and manicurist half their age to shame

I’ve had great experiences at Best Chicago Barbers. Helen has a wonderful personality and is very skilled and professional. As a kicker, the price level is very reasonable. I would highly recommend this barbershop!

I’m not one that typically writes reviews, but I have to update my post about this place. I have been a regular customer of Helen’s for 10 years. I visit this shop every 2 weeks without fail. I am fortunate that I can afford go anywhere to be styled and pampered, yet I continue to visit Helen week after week. Why? Because everyone in the shop is respectful, my conversations with the staff are confidential, they run on appointment so I am in and out on my schedule, and the quality of my haircut is outstanding. I get complements about how perfect my haircut is all of the time. And they do an awesome manicure/​pedicure to boot.
I looked long and hard to find a place that can trust to cut my hair right. It was not easy to find this gem. There are a lot of hacks out there. Try Best Chicago Barbers. You will be glad you did.

I highly recommend giving Best Chicago Barbers a shot at your next haircut and I promise you will have found your new regular barber. Helen does a great job with my haircut and she’s quick, you’re in and out in 15 minutes. Once in a while I get my shoes shined during my haircut.
I haven’t had the opportunity to take advantage of the other services but I plan to in the future.
I went about a year ago looking for a new barber and BCB ended up being my exclusive place. Again, this is highly recommended.

I’ve been going to ‘Best Chicago Barber’ (Helen) for about 6 months now, and love the experience. I’ve never had to wait (just make sure you call in advance), I get my shoes shined and with over 20 years of experience, the cuts look great. Great location right on Oak St., but not the Oak Street Prices.
I was going to another Salon and was paying $ 70 for a cut, and still, Best Chicago Barber does a better job for half the cost. Helen is amazing, and she take a lot of pride in her work.
Professional, Convenient, and Offers other services I can wait to take advantage of. Pedicures, and Massages.
A must try!
