I am so unbelievably upset with this company! I am filing a complaint with the IL Attorney General and advise that everyone do the same!
I have talked to an attorney and have been told that this shitty company has done a good job of stealing peoples money, knowing that they are unable to get it back. It would cost more in legal fees and traveling costs than what we would win back.
I WILL NOT STOP FIGHTING UNTIL THIS COMPANY IS CLOSED!!! I will email, write letter and call every Better Business Bueros Office, and attorneys office in Cook Co. if I have to. This company is full of scam artists and should be ashamed of themselves!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY .EVER.
worst moving experience of my life (and I have moved a lot), binding initial estimate is not binding at all… driver will not pick up your stuff if you dont sign a new contract, much higher than the fist, and no one to call at 7 am to get this solved on day of move.
New price was $ 800 more, a LOT for my budget.
Item arrived damaged, all kitchen fragiles broken, every piece of furniture has been damaged, four boxes still missing… we have LOST HUNDREDS OF $$$$…the company will not do anything to fix this monstruosity, the better business bureau contacted the company unsuccessfully… These guys are a joke, they will basically steal your money and rip you off. HORRIFYING EXPERIENCE.

I used American National Van Lines on my move from Chicago to Portland who hired Best Price moving and storage for the second leg of the move.
If you want to hear the gory details… read on. If not, all you need to know is not to hire this company.
The company I hired sent our things with best price moving and storage– who lied to us several times about when our things would ship from chicago… that is, when we could actually get ahold of someone. We’ve literally tried to call this company 20 something times, and they would just put us through to a woman’s voicemail who would never call us back. When we’d ask for the owner or manager, they were unavailable/​out of the country/​in a meeting and we’d never get a call back.
Finally, the unprofessional company gave us the number to the driver of the truck, who gave us 4 time slots of delivery and never showed up. To top it off, the driver changed his number midway through trying to get ahold of him, making it impossible to get ahold of anyone regarding our things.
Last time I checked, it’s the company’s job to get ahold of the driver and schedule a delivery date, not the customers.
After playing phone tag with the driver for about a week, he finally shows up. Alone. Because he gave us no advance notice, we couldn’t block the street, so he had nowhere to park and left. I called both companies telling them it was unacceptable that he showed up alone… and while they assured me they would fix the problem — they didn’t.
We have two couches, a queen mattress, about 30 boxes, and about 4 flights of stairs. But no surprise, the next day he shows up without notice… alone again.
So who ended up moving us in? Him and my boyfriend.
UNACCEPTABLE.
The woman at best price movers said she would «send him a check» for having to move, but no surprise here, she isn’t responding to our calls. They also tore the fabric in our couch, and ruined our wooden bed platform and several boxes with a water leak.
If you’re looking to move, literally chose any other company.

I booked my move from Chicago to NYC and was promised a 3 — 6 day move. My stuff was picked up on time and the movers were great. Now I am on day 7 and have still not received my move. I have called the company and keep getting transferred to the same person who is saying it is a 2 — 10 day delivery and can’t tell me when my stuff will come. Get your estimates correct!

NO STARS! I’m taking the time from my busy day to join Unilocal for the sole purpose of writing this review. I had to move from Chicago to Tucson for further subspecialty training as a physician-​fellow. Moving cross country is painful and daunting especially when it is to start a busy new career. And since I only had a limited number of days to accomplish all this, I had decided to pay for convenience instead. Joey Walker was the sales person that I had dealt and signed with. Given that I had used movers in the past, I was weary of them but he addressed all of my concerns. When quoting the estimate, I specifically added extra items and boxes «just in case» as I know how moving companies low ball the quotes. Since time was a huge factor, he estimated that my stuff will arrive in 4.5 days AT THE LATEST if the drivers were to cover 400 miles a day, which is way less than average. However, the contract will always read «within 2 — 14 days». Fine. He returned all of my calls and emails very promptly up to 48 hours before pick up at which time the pick-​up dispatcher took over. He did everything a great sales person (or liar) would.
The pick up crew seemed nice enough. Of course, despite selling my couch, coffee table, and a few other small pieces of furniture, the crew now eyeballed that the weight was more than what was estimated and the quote has now increased by another $ 700. I’m not sure how I have over 2400 lbs of stuff when I only have minimal furniture and only took 1 full day to pack the rest of it. Can’t say I didn’t see that coming so I agreed to it. Seems like it’s a common trickery and it was too late to sign with another company. Plus they have yet to weigh it so perhaps his eyeball estimate was inaccurate.
This was on ⁶⁄₁₇. The delivery dispatch was supposed to call within 24 hrs to give me a date and time of arrival. I waited for 2 days before giving them a call & instead of arriving in 4-​ish days, I was told that it will arrive on ⁶⁄₂₅ instead. And no surprise, the pick up crew’s weight-​eyeballing skills were so accurate that it matched the weighing station’s apparently. Fine, I’ll pick my battles. I called again on ⁶⁄₂₃ to check and apparently my things have not even left Chicago and the NEXT available truck is on ⁶⁄₂₆ at the earliest but there will be 9 homes heading out west and she wasn’t sure if my stuff would be one of them in that one truck. After arguing on what was promised, I realized that she played on words. She said those were ESTIMATED DATES and no one ever said it was CONFIRMED. She also said she was not part of the conversation between me and Joey thus cannot agree upon anything that was said.
Well, I called again on ⁶⁄₃₀ after not hearing back and she said it will arrive between ⁷⁄₇ to ⁷⁄₉ at the latest. CONFIRMED. And they will call 48 hours prior. I waited patiently but that call that was suppose to happen 48 hours prior never came. Well, it is now an hour to July 10^th and I have yet to receive anything. Worse, I have been calling the delivery dispatch almost every business hour for the past 3 days and no one picked up the phone. I left voicemails. I panicked and wondered if they went out of business thus I called sales, customer service, and even the pick up dispatch but they will either transfer me to a line that no one picks up or put me on hold for a good 25 mins. And yes, I timed it. I emailed Joey Walker on ⁷⁄₇ for help but never heard back though in the past he would always reply within the hour. So I tried getting him over the phone today and he is «sick» today apparently. The people who do answer the phone can’t help because it’s a different «department» though within the company.
So currently I have no idea where my stuff is and can’t even talk with a live human being from dispatch. It’s been almost a month now. I can’t work efficiently though that was the ONLY reason I uprooted and moved because I don’t have anything with me — not clothes, books, a spoon… Nothing! Technically, this is now ‘stealing’ which is not just poor service but a criminal offense. And if I do get my stuff, I wonder what condition they will be in & if half of it will be missing.
Trust me, I easily work up to 110 hours a week taking calls and perform urgent/​emergent surgeries at all hours. I would not take the time to create an account just to write this long review if I wasn’t living this nightmare right now.

Do not use!!! We went 27 days without our household items. They had our stuff sitting in storage for 3 weeks and kept delaying delivery. We got charged double the original quoted price and they refused to give us our items until we paid more. Requested re-​weigh in which I was present, they agreed but never did it. Just told me it was 100 pounds off, but still same extra price. Worst company ever!

All 3 companies have a lot of complaints on BBB. This was my mistake not checking BBB and looking at some of the positive reviews here on Unilocal and thinking that all will go well.
Before finding movers I was told from a friend of mine to avoid movers that broker a mover. I checked with American Moving & Storage and I was told that the company was family owned and they would not broker my move, and I specifically asked that when the moving truck comes would it have your name on it and the sales person said yes. Guess what happened close to the time of the move? I had another moving company’s driver reach out to me and tell me that he will pick up and he was with Best Price Moving. I called Best Price Moving to ask who they were and was told that the move was brokered to them, a term these moving companies will sometimes use is associates/​affiliates since most folks looking to move avoid brokers.
Anyhow the best price movers loaded my stuff on a truck and I was told that this was going to go to a warehouse and then it was going to be loaded onto another truck. I was given a 5 — 6 day spread for delivery, but the driver called on the 6^th day saying he can’t bring an 18 wheeler to where I am so he will need to unload the furniture to a smaller truck which will also cost me another $ 200 saying that I didn’t have appropriate access for an 18 wheeler (who has that in a residential area?). I told the driver to have the company call me about the $ 200 because I was not paying it. I never heard from the company about the $ 200. The driver came on the 7 day and was late, I had booked the elevator with my building from 2 PM — 5 PM, and the movers were well aware that after 5 the building doesn’t allow the move, the movers showed up at 4:45 PM.
They quickly started unloading and when I looked at some of the boxes they were wet and torn. I also found a lot of the boxes were in very bad shape. All of the china was broken, even though it was packed well. It seemed like the boxes had been thrown around. My wood furniture had some chips and scratches.
In all in this move my items had been loaded on to 3 different trucks, and similarly unloaded 3 different times, all this loading/​unloading is going to affect anyone’s items especially the way these movers throw the boxes in the truck.
Also to note, when the mover came into the new apartment (two 20 — 25 year old Ukrainian guys) who barely spoke English. I asked them to put something on their shoes to protect the carpet because it was raining outside and I didn’t want stains on the white carpet. They guys refused to put anything on, even though I provided them with slip on covers and plastic bags. Instead I had to cover the carpet with bed sheets.
Things to watch-​out for:
— Movers that broker your move, they might use terms like «associates/​affiliates»
— Movers that do not give you an exact price before loading your items onto a truck. This is important because you will have issues upon delivery, where these guys will say your items were heavy and they’ll charge you another $ 1000 to $ 4000 in some cases and will keep your items hostage if you do not pay (this is based on some of the other reviews I read)
— Movers that collect some money upfront. This is important because if you have any last minute changes or your move isn’t going the way you thought it would, these guys will keep your money. Lets say the movers at the day of the move do not show up, or if they show up and they do not shrink warp your furniture etc.
I tried to find out what the procedure is for some of the better cross country movers & as an example I’ll use Mayflower; they do not quote you a price until a moving consultant comes to your home and looks at all your stuff, he will prepare a quote based on the amount of furniture you have. This is the exact amount you will owe at delivery. Their own truck with their company name on the truck will come to pick-​up your stuff. You will not be pay anything at loading, and you will pay once all your stuff arrives. In terms of cost mayflower was $ 1200 more expensive than these movers for my move. So if you have expensive stuff it is better to go with good quality movers, who have better insurance coverage also if anything happens to the items during the move.

These people are crooks!!! They lied about my weight saying I was 9 lbs over when weighed in Chicago. I went to the weigh station here on delivery and I was under by 2200lbs. Yep, no typo there — 2200 lbs! Of course they only give you a fraction back. My belongings arrived looking as though the moving truck fell off the side of a mountain. I have received documentation from Anthem saying that the many damaged items were worth $ 150. I paid $ 150 for special handling of a Chinese vase that they broke. I requested a refund of that and BP told me to include it in my claim. Don’t believe anything these people tell you. I was told they weren’t a broker and they’d be handling my move from start to finish. This was a lie — they had some other company that showed up in an enterprise rental truck (company from Seattle) deliver my stuff here. I feel that these people are out to take advantage of customers and shouldn’t be in business. I will complain about this to every agency that will listen. Oh, in case anyone tells you (like they told me) that these reviews are biased and fake, my job number was W475263, moved from Michigan to Seattle. I will upload pictures of my damage as well. Pick another company if you’d like your stuff to arrive in one piece and if you’d like to deal with an honest company because Best Price isn’t it!

Horrible horrible service!!! It seems All State Van Lines Relocation from Chicago outsourced our delivery from Chicago to LA to these guys. The delivery takes 5 days normally but arrived almost 15 days later! And here’s what happened. On the day of the delivery these drivers who barely spoke English called to ask for address. They messed it up completely and entered a street where the cops caught them and charged then $ 1600 for bringing a large vehicle!!! There is no 24 hour service so I was held up talking to this guy who couldn’t speak english. He asked me to get a shuttle service to him which was obviously not possible! When I told him this he said he was going to San Diego the next day so the delivery would be delayed…
Still waiting for my stuff!!! Please avoid this company!

They were horrible. Everything was fine until I had to schedule my delivery. They did not return my call for over a week and when I asked them why she responded she doesn’t have anyone that can deliver my stuff.
The rest of the experience was a nightmare. Rude delivery guys, broken items, forcing me to pay extra if I wanted my stuff (blackmail), and then afterwards they charged all my cards on file twice.

There hasn’t been a review for these folks for awhile, so I thought I’d share my tale of horror that took place last week when I used Best Price.
I recently moved from Madison, WI to St. Paul, MN. We chose Best Price based on the fact that they actually got back to us when we called to schedule a move, unlike the larger companies; and they truly did have a pretty good price.
The initial crew that packed my stuff into the truck in the first place is the only reason this review warrants one star — they were very efficient, professional, and careful with my stuff. A couple of weeks later when I was moving into my apartment in St. Paul, however, things took a turn.
Our delivery was originally scheduled for noon. At about a quarter to, we got a call from the truck driver that they were stuck at a weigh station because of some issue with the truck, and were twenty minutes from my apartment. They promised it would be resolved quickly and would keep us updated.
An hour later, we had heard nothing. We called the driver back and he told us he was still at the weigh station, and that they would need a new truck because of an issue with the current truck. That involved waiting for a new truck and then unloading and re-​loading three deliveries’ worth of furniture and belongings. They had no estimate for how long that would take. We called the main office at that point. They had not heard of the issue, so they contacted the moving truck driver who told the customer service rep the same story. They were still waiting for a replacement truck. They had no estimate for how long this would take, and refused to give us any timeframe at all. We told them how big of an inconvenience this was for us, as we were literally sitting in an empty apartment, having taken time off from work, with no idea where my stuff was. They told us that we would be hearing from the driver,
The driver called us a bit later and told us he would call back within 20 minutes to give us a time estimate for when they’d be on their way. When we hadn’t heard from him over an hour later, we called again. No answer. We then called the main office. They had closed for business at 4:30 pm, over an hour earlier, with this issue still unresolved. The company has no after-​hours or emergency answering service, so we were forced to keep trying the driver’s cell. We called him once an hour or so and left a handful of messages, to no avail. Around 9 pm we left the apartment, completely frustrated and helpless because my belongings were on a truck somewhere, in an unknown state, and we had no idea when they would be getting to us. The driver never picked up his phone after about 3 in the afternoon.
At 10:45 pm that night, we got a call from the driver that they were waiting outside my apartment building. We hauled over there and got there at about 11:15, and they started unloading. There were three guys there including the driver. They didn’t do a bad job unloading, and fortunately the issues that other reviewers experienced didn’t happen to me — they actually put everything where I asked them to, and only a few glasses were broken. The driver had no response when we asked him why he hadn’t answered our calls or called us back. He simply told us he was frustrated because he had been sitting at a weigh station since 9 that morning. That was a complete exaggeration, as one of the movers told me it was since 11am that they had been at the weigh station.
The next day we called the customer service office again to tell our story. The customer service rep was sympathetic, and said she would present the situation to the manager to see if she could get some compensation back for us. The following day when we followed up with her again, she told us that the driver told the manager that he had been calling us all the time throughout this ordeal. That is an absolute lie. The customer service person also had the audacity to ask for our cell phone records to corroborate our story. We refused of course, that’s private information.
Two days later we called them again, and were referred to a different rep who referred us to a third rep. We left a message with this third peson but have not heard back.
This experience was a nightmare. If the driver had simply answered our calls to tell us that he was going to be almost 11 hours late, that would be one thing. But my property was sitting presumably at a weigh station for almost a whole day, and I had no idea what was going on with it or when it would arrive. Then when we tried to follow up with the company to be compensated for the outrageous treatment we experienced, they gave us the runaround and we haven’t gotten anywhere.
I’m ready to file with the BBB against these people. They’re unreliable, they lie, they have no capacity for customer service or even reasonable service at all. DO NOT hire this company, no matter how enticing their low prices are.

i was very hesitant to actually pick any moving company after reading so many bad reviews on just about all of them so i decided to go with Best price for my move from Chicago to Dallas in Feb of 2012. I was given a great price and the movers were professional and courteous. I actually had to have them pick up furniture in two different places and they did not charge extra because they were pretty close to each other. I moved a 2 bedroom condo including a scooter. They picked up when they were supposed to and more importantly they delivered when they said they would. The only complaint i had was that when they delivered the stuff they wanted to charge me more because my condo was kinda far from the truck but i don’t really blame them it was just the design of the building but it was a couple hundred extra.
They took the time to dissemble and assemble the furniture and besides a couple scratched here and there every thing showed up in one piece. I know they have some bad reviews but i challenge you to find any moving company that does not. Once i move again i will for sure use this company and hopefully the experience will be the same.
Best of luck with your move cause i know it can very stressful.

Partially, I blame myself for trying to save a buck.
And to give credit where it is due, the guys that packed the truck were pretty good. That gives you your one star, Best Price.
However, I give negative four stars to the rest of the experience.
In short, the delivery workers paid no attention to the inventory list, or anything written on any boxes. We ended up with boxes that didn’t belong to us, and boxes that never showed up. The movers delivering boxes honestly could not read or speak english, and put boxes anywhere they wanted.
They THREW antique furniture off the van that crashed into the yard and broke.
The moving coordinator tried to break their contract by demanding cash for the move instead of a credit card, that we agreed to and had documented in the contract.
They made the whole moving experience miserable. I’ve learned my lesson to never use half-​assed companies like this one.

As Mrs. Harry F., I’m going to add my review, too. Why? Because they caused a special hell, just for me. These movers are such unprofessional clowns. This happened about three years ago, and I still have nightmares. I still have broken things. I’m still missing stuff.
This isn’t the first time I’ve moved, but this is the biggest move I’ve ever undertaken (Detroit to Los Angeles). I also had two big dogs, a toddler, and a case of stress-​induced hives. I wasn’t around for the load-​up, but Harry was. There was never an inventory taken. He says it was a free-​for-​all stuffing of the truck. Boxes were numbered serially and tagged with our lot number, but we were never provided an inventory. It was just random tags, as far as I’m concerned. Harry told me he had to argue to get the everything on the truck (even though we had an estimate taken).
After the truck left, I returned to my old house and find things that didn’t make it on the truck. My floor lamp is smashed in the garage.
The truck was reloaded in Chicago. I don’t know why. Finally, our truck arrived in LA. The driver stayed in the cab, and shouted to the four illiterate goons unloading the truck. Let’s be clear here — I am an ESL teacher, and well-​seasoned in communicating with non-​native speakers. They couldn’t/wouldn’t tell me what language they were speaking. I had never heard it before in my life. The driver told me they spoke Hebrew, but it wasn’t true. The guys were either completely illiterate, or unwilling to be helpful. I’m guessing the latter. I couldn’t even number the boxes and rooms with your normal Arabic numerals. Everything was flying off the truck without an inventory. They were done when the truck was empty.
So, four men literally throwing and stacking boxes to the ceiling, in any room they could. They didn’t plan how they were going to unload, and my living room was quickly filled without a path to the rest of the house. Still juggling my toddler (trying to keep him from getting crushed under the towers of boxes), I tell them to move the boxes into the correct rooms. They start pushing and kicking stacks of boxes over. I go out to complain to the driver. He’s on his cellphone, and waves me away. The guys loading in the house don’t care if I point to this or that room, they continue to just dump things anywhere. Again, there is no inventory.
While I’m outside, one goon throws my vintage Heywood-​Wakefield nightstand end over end. There is no one to catch it, he is just throwing things overhand onto the lawn. It lands with a crunch. Both of the legs are broken off. I look inside the baby’s room and there’s nothing there. I spot the crib and mattress in the kitchen. Yes. The kitchen. I tell the guys to put it in the baby’s room. I am looked at with blank stares. I point, gesture, and start to move it myself. I show them to put it together, and first they shake their heads no. I emphatically shake my head YES, part of our contract is assembly of furniture. As I stand there, one takes a box cutter to my son’s mattress, slashing it open to get the packing tape off. He smiles and continues. There are razor cuts all along my son’s mattress, and they try to deny that they just did it. I was standing right there!
The driver is now outside, ordering the guys to move the rest of the stuff on the lawn into the garage. No! These boxes are all for the house! He tells me there is no room and they are out of time. Everyone starts grabbing boxes and throwing them in the garage.
I’m exhausted and stressed out. I go to sit on my vintage Danish modern chair, which they set up in the living room. Except they didn’t put the slats back in the bottom of the chair (the slats are still missing, btw). I fall through the cushion, while holding the baby. My ass hits the floor, while my lower back slams against the bottom rail of the chair. The guys laugh and shrug at me, like I’m stupid. I am crying in pain. I snap a photo with my cellphone. It’s already starting to bruise.
At this point, I call my husband, beyond irate. He can’t make it right then, he’s busy at work. I am left on the living room floor, surrounded by boxes that belong anywhere else in the house. Bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen, garage, living room, office… almost all of the boxes are in this room. I peek in the bathroom: kitchen, linen closet, garage… in the master bedroom: bathroom, baby, kitchen… etc etc. The garage holds an equal hodgepodge of boxes and furniture.
I just sit and wait for it all to be over. After awhile, Harry does come home and argues with the driver for awhile. You can read his review for how that all turned out.
As we unpacked, I started missing things. I lost a few kitchen boxes. I have someone else’s silverware, but there is no lot number or identification I can find. I wonder if they have my kitchen things. I doubt it is that clear-​cut. There’s more to this story, but there’s a length limit…

Actually, no stars for you, Best Price Moving and Storage. I too would give negative stars, if I could.
*enter dream sequence effects* Ah, I remember it like it was yesterday… It was 2003. I was living in Chicago and I needed to get to DC to attend graduate school. I had no money, I was single, I had no one to help me move long distance. So, I decided to hire a service to help me get to DC.
Calling Best Price a «service» is generous. Like many others on Unilocal,they quoted me a low rate at first, which lured me into hiring them. It was just me moving and I didn’t have a lot of stuff, so $ 1200 sounded reasonable. They also seemed very nice. That all changed.
Talking to them on the phone was a joke — the story changed so many times, I lost track. It was like the Twilight Zone — «No, we never said that, ma’am.» Really? «No, we never told you we would deliver on xx date.» Huh?
My *favorite* part was when the delivery date we agreed to came and went without explanation… and they decided to show up on my *birthday* … Yep. That was the last straw. I again called them to get the same song and dance about what we agreed to. They claimed I had said OK to the date. My driver’s license clearly states that today is NOT the day we discussed. EPIC FAIL.
I had all the other issues others had– broken items, surly delivery people. They even had the nerve to ask for cash payment of the final bill. I know you’ll be shocked to hear that this is a common request from shady dealing «businesses.» I refused and somehow, my credit card was acceptable to them.
All told, it cost me $ 3500 for moving and delivery. That summer, my grandmother had died and I had $ 5000 to help me start at the new university, get a deposit for an apartment in DC, utilities, etc. They got $ 3500 of my grandmother’s money and I will never forget that. Shame on you. Listen to me very carefully because I am only saying this once: don’t you dare contact me to ask that I take this review down. No amount of money changes the fact that you did what you did and people have a right to know about you.

Three words to describe my moving experience with Best Price Moving… AWFUL, AWFUL, and AWFUL!
First of all, the sales people are exactly that… sales people! They are shady and will tell you anything they can to get your business. In our case, we worked with Sarah. We were moving from Chicago to San Francisco. We scheduled our pickup for Aug 23^rd and requested it to be delivered at the earliest Aug 27^th since we were driving there… Sarah made it sound like the movers would be able to deliver very close to that time frame, and she NEVER, NEVER, NEVER once mentioned what you can only find in fine print that the actually delivery time is 5 – 15 business days from the earliest delivery date you mention. Had I known that, I would have told them the day after they picked it up then. That way, we wouldn’t have wasted 4 days of lead time telling them the 27^th. UGGGHHHH
So here we are, Sept 10^th and still haven’t received our belongings. To make matters worse, I call every day asking for a status of the delivery. Earlier this week, they told me it was estimated to be delivered the 9^th or the 10^th… although they did say «estimated»… so sure enough, I call again today, the 10^th and they tell me now its «estimated» to be delivered between Sept 13^th and Sept 15^th. I ask how they tell me one thing early in the week and now something completely different? Their answer was that it was only an «estimate». What kind of business are you running I ask? You have a driver, you have x amount of deliveries, and you know how long it takes to get from point a to b. how can you not give me an accurate delivery date? They did not have an answer…
At the end of my conversation with their «customer service», or whoever it was that answered the phone. I said no wonder why I see so many dings against your company on the Better Business Bureau website and you can probably expect another from me… her reply was «thank you and have a nice day», and she hung up on me! I worked customer service, and I know you are NOT supposed to hang up on a customer unless they are being beligerent and swearing at you, I was not doing either. I simply made that statement and she hung on me…
The customer service overall for this company is, as I mentioned earlier, AWFUL. Every time I call, they put me on hold for 20 minutes and many times the call just goes to a VM after being on hold and I’m forced to call back, just to be put on hold again. And when I do talk to someone, they are very rude and not professional in the least bit!
I urge you to do your research before signing up with a moving company. Unfortunately we did not, and we are suffering for it. And if it sounds to good to be true, it probably is!

The owner of Best Price Moving offered me $ 100 to remove this listing.
$ 100 does not make up for missing boxes full of childhood photos, a playstation, several expensive games and CDs, among other things that were not delivered to us.
Also, its kinda insulting to never hear from the owner about trying to find the missing boxes, or offer us any kind of help or refund.
Thanks for the offer, but, respectfully, I cannot accept.

I’d like to know why you can’t give negative stars… I hired Best Price Moving to move my stuff from Chicago to California. I had about 2000 lbs of stuff. This was the sixth cross country move I’ve done (and maybe 14^th move overall) and I’d have to say that these clowns are tied with the company I used to move to Chicago for the last place. Like other reviewers, the sales person I spoke to was polite and seemed to know his stuff. He answered all of my very specific questions (based on my previous bad experiences with movers) on their process, sub-​contracting status, etc. correctly. Yet somehow, this company managed to create more mistakes than all of the past companies combined.
Their only saving grace is that they were on-​time/​early for the pick up and the pick-​up crew was polite. But maybe that’s how they lure you in…
Pretty much everything that could go wrong with a move went wrong. Their driver forced me to pay for a shuttle that I didn’t need, just because he had to rent the shuttle truck for other customers who were getting stuff delivered in my area, wanted to charge me additional long-​carry fees and stairs fees and was generally unpleasant to me on the phone and basically hung up on me without communicating exactly when he expected to arrive. I called the customer service number and the customer service rep apologized profusely and explained the driver had been having a difficult time because of the hills and walk-​ups in SF and that I was not the first customer on this run to complain. I thought well, I could see how that could make for him having a bad day, whatever…
The crazy moving saga continues for a whole week, the end result of which is my stuff arrives a week after the date they told me once the driver was in SF, and my favorite, non-​reproduction Eames chair is broken, and I have to give the driver $ 800 more than was originally agreed on.
I thought I was done… then three months later I get an email from someone who has one of my boxes and lives 150 miles away from me. I call the company and they promise to pay for it to be shipped for me. I call them every few days for a whole month and the good Samaritan with my box also tries contacting them. In the end, I end up paying for my box to be shipped and still haven’t had a return phone call from the owner or the customer service manager. THESE PEOPLE ARE THE WORSE MOVERS EVER!!!

If you look at all of the 5 star reviews, they are written on or about the same day, reviewers have only one review, and use similar writing samples. Accordingly, you should see that like these reviews, the company is equally as fake.
First of all, they forged the truck weight. I only saw this after I had filed a formal complaint with the BBB. But let’s back up just a tad… They came to do an estimate of my items and I was quoted at $ 1350. Well, I ended up selling half of my items to include getting rid of the bed, couch, and living room furniture. I called Best Price and they said they would send someone to redo my estimate based on my new items. They never showed up. I even mentioned it to the movers when they arrived and they said they would weigh it. Again, I never got the truck weight.
During transit, I was told multiple dates when the items would arrive. Each day, I would submit leave from work and haul back home only to find out the truck man was not there. I called multiple times to get a straight answer from Best Price only to be left on hold for so long I would get fed up and hang up.
I was devastated when I got a call from the driver saying «I’m here! I’m here! Hurry up!» Mind you I live in DC and the area if very narrow. The trucker dropped all of my things on the sidewalk ON EASTER SUNDAY (despite being told by Best Price they don’t deliver on Sundays). I demanded the driver move my items up the stairs and into the house. he said «extra fee… extra fee». I told him, no and showed him the contract which clearly stated I got so many stairs for free. He told me to go f8ck myself. Luckily, DC police came because the man was blocking traffic. The Police officer was very helpful in assisting me. In fact, the police officer mentioned that the driver’s tabs on his vehicle were expired so he should hurry up and move because he was facing a ticket (obviously the cop took pitty on me). The whole time, the driver would fling my items up the steps meanwhile cursing at me!
After he left, my guests from EASTER SUNDAY helped me unpack my items. We made a list of multiple broken items. I filed with Best Price for reimbursement. The check never came. I’ve filed multiple reports with the BBB who said I was due a refund. In fact if you look at the BBB, they will state that this business is not in good standing!
BEWARE OF THIS RIP OFF JOINT!!!

I posted this same review on another site that reviews moving company. Best Price Moving & Storage contacted them and literally had them remove my review because they stated I was never a customer. I have news for anyone who doubts I truly used this company — I still have the receipts and paperwork which I will NEVER throw away because I am still waiting for them to pay me back for all of the damage and emotional agony they caused me. If you still doubt it, my order number was 2111 and my first point of contact was Brian followed by Alex.

I will NEVER remove this review! Everyone needs to be warned about this rip off joint.

This f’n company took my review down AGAIN saying I wasn’t a customer. They are hell bent on continuing to RIP PEOPLE OFF. BOO ON YOU, BEST PRICE!

Edit 2: The posts have both now been removed, and the only 5 star one is from a new poster with only one post. Also, check them out on BBB. Over 125 complaints in the last 3 years.
Edit 3: Like the other posters, I too have been offered money to take down my listing. As if they would even honor that offer, considering they ripped me off. They obviously are getting desperate, and their ethics and attitude is reflected in them bribing customers who have been affected by their service.

I’ll save you guys the story, but I had a really bad experience with Best Price from the start, resulting in my stuff not even getting moved!
I’ll second and third the reviewers and say, DON’T. Don’t get a quote, don’t accept service, just don’t. The service needs a lot of work (and some ethics training). Do it the hard way – yourself! I don’t want anyone to have to go through what I did.
