This place really has a big bar in terms of the mountain of liquor bottles that you can see from outside of the Hyatt when passing by in front on Wacker Dr. Always a good time here as me and friends usually meet up here for events or various get togethers. This place is good for groups as they have nice couches in the back, booths and hi-tops…not to mention the bar is long enough to fit a nice amount of people. Its in the lobby of the 2nd floor and you cant miss it once you get on the escalator going up the floor 2. They have a nice amount of whiskeys and bourbons so I usually go with that. Chicken wings are decent if you need something to fill your belly. Good spot on a saturday night as the view is pretty sweet!

Been here a few times. Food and drinks are always good. Seems to be understaffed as far as waiters go. And of course everything on the menu is expensive. All in all decent place to go

Pretty hoppin for a hotel bar, lots of TVs, large crowd mainly existing of convention goers and other guests of the Hyatt in which its housed. And as you would expect of any hotel bar it’s overpriced. They have these GIANORMOUS drinks served in novelty martini glasses which look fun but start at $ 40+. I can’t imagine not sharing if I went that rout. So if you are staying at the Hyatt come on down but otherwise I don’t know it’s a place I would come to.

Going to BIG is a tradition for my husband and I every time we go to Chicago, and this was our best experience by far nearly all due to Jen’s attentive and friendly service. We were celebrating our anniversary and had just had a terrible experience at another restaurant in town, and Jen was our saving grace, and redeemed the evening for us — she is a gem! And by the way, the jalapeño cheddar pretzels that I got as a snack were fantastic. Thank you!!!

NOPE! Being ignored at the bar, still waited after I made myself clear that I wanted to order something. This is what you get: NOTIP NOPE!

Wish there were a few more views out to the street and river since this one has the opportunity to do so, but overall cool atmosphere inside. Caught some seats at the bar and received fast and friendly service with an attentive bartender.

I was excited to come here tonight, but that faded into disappointment. When I ordered my chicken empanadas I was informed by the server that if I wasn’t a guest at the hotel then I would have to start a tab. I told her that I had cash, which I did, and was told again that I would have to start a tab with my card — no option. I gave her my card and asked her not to charge it. She said there wouldn’t be a charge, but I checked my account on my phone and it was charged! Luckily I had the money in my account. I spoke to the manager who gave me the scripted response that it was their policy to run a tab, and once I paid in cash the charges would be reversed within one or two business days. That’s nonsense! After eating I decided to leave the charge on my card and leave. So if someone has a pocketful of cash up front to pay and they don’t have a card or left it home they can’t eat or drink. That doesn’t even begin to make sense. I won’t be back.

Great atmosphere, amazing service, and the best drink menu! The scotch menu is very extensive — from blended to single malt, and even Islay. Although I didn’t get any apps, they have a very unique menu. The shrimp cocktails are huge and awesome! Our waitress, Ionela, was very nice and helpful in choosing drinks.

I’ve had a lot of piña coladas but seriously I’ve had he best one here! Great service and great drinks. The only negative is that it’s inside a hotel and it’s rather small! Besides that, I think it was a nice safe bar lounge to visit with my girlfriends and it had a great aura as well. Definitely recommend checking this place out and their piña colada!

Impressed by the friendly service here. I’ll definitely go back when I’m in town. I stopped in for a drink with a friend after a conference presentation. We sat at the bar and planned to order just one drink each. We both got beers, and both were at good temperatures. The bar tender was a little cold but I think it was because they were so busy. The manager(?) though often came by and talked with us. My friend made a compliment about the drinks he and others were making. He told us that they were trying new recipes for frozen drinks. He asked if we would like to try them and have us each an entire drink got free! He liked his banana cream drink. Mine was a coconut mix that tasted like a mudslide with light coconut. Very tasty! A simple gesture like that ensures I’ll be coming back. Also they have beautiful storage for their liquor!

Very convenient if you’re staying at the Hyatt Regency and need a late night snack. My body clock was still on pacific time and I needed to work a little longer, so I headed down a little before midnight to fuel up before getting back to my email backlog from the day(which other road warriors know does not stop just because you’re traveling). This place is alive! Dozens of TVs blazing sports and other channels, conversations flowing with the alcohol, camaraderie all around. I sat at the bar under a huge«tower of alcohol» — whisky, cognac, gin, rum, seemed like they had stacked every hard spirit known to man! Ordering a tall Guinness and a buffalo chicken flatbread pizza, I settled down to watch the Golden State Warriors clinch their first Pacific division title in 40 years. The spicy buffalo sauce paired beautifully with the rich smooth Guinness. And I sat there, game over, staring beyond the large windows at the cold Chicago river and snow-covered streets beyond, happily enjoying the food, warmth and hospitality of BIG bar.

They never have enough staff when there are big conferences and it is crowded. I know it is busy and popular, but staff for it. I was there for a conference earlier in the month and showed up to a table some of my friends were sitting at, they had drinks. It was too packed to make my way to the bar and I was there for over 30 minutes and no one came to the table, frustrating. We had to leave for an event and one person wasn’t going so they stayed back in the hopes of signing the check. Staff up!

Visited here with my girlfriend at the Hyatt. Decent bar with plenty of drink options. The service was definitely one I’d hope to forget soon since it IS a nice bar. Our server was an african-american gentleman who wouldn’t smile even if it were to save his life. He walked around with a frown and also irritated at serving us. We ordered our cab, a beer, 2 cocktails. The cocktails were pretty strong, in which my girlfriend had to wait for the ice to melt to actually drink. The side tables are all equipped with led tv’s, which were nice. The led lighting is also beautifully lit, which really set a nice, vibrant, mood. At 1, they kicked everyone out and all the customers had to drink in the hotel lobby or wherever we could find seats. Overall, a decent bar. Really enjoyed the atmosphere, just not so much the service or the cocktails. Will try again soon

Came here with work people after a weekday meeting with no expectations and I was absolutely blown away by the BIG martini glasses they were serving. I’m from NY and I have never seen anything like this. I was so excited. My group got two VERYBIG drinks which is great for a group of 4. We had about 6 in our group so 2 drinks were just right. I can’t remember which drinks we ordered but I guess that means it was just that good and that much fun that I can’t remember haha. Get a table by the bar. There’s more action there!

This bar is pretty spacious and it never feels crowded, which definitely has that going for them. However, everything else is pricy. Ordered a Talisker 10 year neat and that cost me a hefty $ 21 — usually I find that for $ 14 on average. Came here on two separate occasions and on one night, the bartender was a little skeevy; the second night our waitress just caught an attitude and wasn’t pleasant. Wouldn’t come here otherwise if it just weren’t so convenient.

This is the main bar at the Hyatt and located on the 2nd floor. It has a HUGE number of TVs so many behind the bar that it looks like an art installation. Then some tables also have tvs and even better, if you sit at those tables, you can change the channel and even if turn it off. The servers were universally great. Putting up with our shenanigans and figuring who drank what and resupplying us with drinks. They do offer food at the bar but I never ate there. The specialty cocktails were not really to my taste but my friends loved them especially the one with the jalapenos. They made solid old fashioneds although a tad sweet for me and a tad underpoured for me… but I live in an overpour city so you might feel differently. I watched an amazing lightning show from the bar one night so that was pretty cool with the 2 story windows and the glass roof above us. My two problems with the bar? The prices… I mean I know it’s a hotel bar, but, bruh. Those are some high prices especially if you buy the novelty giant martini glass. And that it closes early. Really last call is 1 am… and then they kick you out by 1:30 so the«bar can be cleaned.»

Really nice bar, particularly for a hotel bar. Glass and LED lighting everywhere. Classy and just a little chic. I’ve only been during conventions, so the place is usually hopping with people anxious to expense the rather pricey drinks without having to catch a cab home. Probably wouldn’t be my first choice if I had to spend my own money. Great views, great drink selection and plenty of space.

How many hotel bars have you been to that have a window view of the city? I have stayed at this hotel many times and this bar has always been great. I’ve yet to eat a meal of food: p But I have had a drink or 10 here. Prob pne of the best hotel lobby bars anything outside of Vegas. Staff is always attentive and friendly. I will continue to keep staying at this hotel and continue drinking and over tipping at this bar.

I am not ashamed to say that I love hotel bars. I even go to hotel bars when I’m home. The people watching is always fun and you meet some interesting people from all over the world. BIG Bar has to be my favorite hotel bar in Chicago. It’s a spacious bar that has numerous vantage points for people watching. Also, they drinks are INSANE. Of course they have the normal size cocktails and beers, but the bar is known for the BIG cocktails and beers they serve. If your looking for a laid back spot to go to with a friend or on your own I highly recommend BIG Bar. Also, if you can be sure to sit in Tosh(one of the servers) section. She is awesome!

Big celebrations need BIG cocktails. Hows a 48oz margarita sound for going big or going home? The hubs and I «split» a jumbo Chicago Fire. It’s a hot take on a margarita. Tequila, pineapple, jalapeño, Tabasco and grenadine, YowZa! It goes from sweet to spicy all in one sip. FYI, I’m only«Woohoo’in» at the amazing-ness of this drink and this drink alone. It was SO good. However, my opinion of the $ 32 price tag… ridiculous! But if you equate it out to drinking 48 shots at .67 cents a shot it’s not a bad deal. The cheap hotel bar vibe… eh, not for me. The obnoxious martini glass… what can I say, I’m a sucker for novelty every once and a while but nonetheless there is nothing classy about a jumbo martini glass. The only reason I’m happy about this place is I had just drank myself a 48oz’er of deliciously spicy margaritas… and I’m pretty sure I got most of it too despite the fact I «shared»…and THAT my friends would make anyone happy. Their website was NOT up to par with the physical bar menu.
