Description

Specialties

Big Jones specializes in Southern cooking from New Orleans and from the Carolina Lowcountry. We also feature local, seasonal, and organic ingredients. We’re open for lunch and dinner every day, and brunch on the weekends.

History

Established in 2008.

Big Jones opened in April 2008. This location used to be Augie’s, a fixture of Andersonville that opened in the mid 1950s. Augie retired in 2007 and when we found out that this location was available in the heart of Andersonville, we were excited and jumped on the chance. We spent the latter part of 2007 and early 2008 getting ready to open. Check out our blog at bigjoneschicago.com/bigjonesblog to see the whole history of the build out.
