Specialties
Body Gears Physical Therapy is a private, outpatient physical therapy provider rooted in the breakthrough practice of Functional Manual Therapy™ (FMT). At Body Gears Chicago — Downtown, we’re experts at finding the root cause of your symptoms. We like to say that we «connect the dots» of your physical blueprint, taking into account all of your previous injuries, illnesses, and movement issues. In technical terms, we assess your functional restrictions by identifying your mechanical, neuromuscular and motor control deficits. Then we improve your body’s efficiency through soft tissue, visceral, neural and joint mobilization of restricted tissues. And we retrain those tissues for optimum movement.
Whether you are recovering from an injury, training for a competition, or you’re striving for health, wellness and freedom of movement, Body Gears Chicago — Downtown can help.

History
Established in 2003.
Body Gears Physical Therapy (formerly Dynamic Physical Therapy) has established a reputation as the center of Manual Therapy treatment in the Midwest. With six convenient locations across the Chicagoland area (Chicago-Downtown, Chicago-Lincoln Park, Oak Brook, Oak Park, Wheaton and Winnetka), Body Gears is the clinic many doctors and elite athlete’s visit when they themselves require physical therapy. We use techniques that have been proven to work through hands-on success and scientific research. Body Gears’ approach is based on the Institute of Physical Art’s methodology. As a residency site for The Institute, we have Fellows as well as Certified Functional Manual Therapists on staff.
