We are a licensed, bonded & insured locksmith serving Chicagoland since 1920. We have a complete staff of fully trained and licensed Security technicians and locksmiths. We provide Chicagoland with all of its security needs including sales, installations and service of all major lock, safe, camera and access control systems.

Greg started in the locksmith business in the early 1970’s. Over the years he has become one of the «Go to» guys in the industry.

With 40 years of experience, Greg still enjoys solving customer’s security concerns. It’s not uncommon to find Greg onsite running cable or installing one of the latest and greatest card access or camera systems. Greg’s leadership and dedication to solving customer’s needs has set the tone for the entire team here at Bullis.

Bullis has made me look like a magician for years. Every imaginable key replacement and advanced security issues taken care of and at a great price. These guys are fantastic!
Bought a used car that came with only 1 key. It is the type of key with a chip: wrong key = car won’t start. (Didn’t know this until I went to get a duplicate at the local hardware store.) Toyota dealer wanted to charge $ 150 for the key PLUS service hours for programming it.
Local hardware store mentioned Bullis. I’ve probably driven by here 100 times and never noticed it.
Walked in, gave them the key, asked if they could make another. «Sure can!» they said. Since the key was more expensive due to the chip, they cut a plain metal key first to be sure it worked in the lock and ignition. Then they went out to test it on my car. Once confirmed, they cut the chipped key. They then went out again and tested the chipped key on the car to be sure the car would start with it.
Cost was around $ 70 including tax, and they gave me the metal flat key to keep as an extra in case the key gets locked in the car (fits in a wallet).
Service was excellent. Happy to give them a great review.

I am a high security business owner, and I use these guys when I need the job done right. Their prices tend to run slightly higher, but rest assured the job will be done right. They are prompt, knowledgeable, and stand behind their work. Terry, is their field tech and he knows more than most people and knows how to install low voltage too. Better to pay these guys once, than the cheap guy twice

I came in to make a copy of a key for my 1993 Yamaha Virago motorcycle. Ace and Home Depot could not make the copy, and I couldn’t even find the right blank key on-​line. Five dollars and five minutes later, I left with a perfectly functioning copy. This place does good work.

Went in there around 4:45 and they close at 5. Without calling ahead or anything they copied my car key and was out the door with minutes to spare. They were professional but also fun to chat with. Good price to compared to other quotes I’ve gotten since my car key has an electronic chip and not everywhere can make them.

I realize the holidays tend to make people nicer, but I highly doubt I would have received treatment anything less than 5 stars had I stopped in for new keys in post-​holiday, cold, dreary January. Bullis Lock provides professional, efficient service. I wouldn’t think of going anywhere else.

I found Bullis after getting keys from both Sears and Ace that did NOT work. Joe struck up a convo while I was waiting in line and I after he looked at the key he knew that they were NOT the master as the landlord stated, they belonged to a very old building/​lock and he took it from there. He used a trick of putting a piece of paper to level the grooves and that worked like butter. No offense but I’m taking skilled/​knowledgable locks smiths over High Schoolers any day.

The people here are wonderful. I came in to get my motorcycle key copied and, having found Bullis online, I decided to try them out. I am glad that I did! Not only did they have blanks for my key, but I was in and out in under 5 minutes!

Definite pros. I was referred here by Ace hardware at Elston and Belmont, and they arrived within 20 minutes on a Saturday. It took the guy a while to pry the broken-​off key out of the keyhole, but he finally did. Once that was done, we got in and he re-​set the lock so it wouldn’t jam like that again. He was in and out in about 15 minutes, and we had some good conversation while he was working. He said my lock was a challenge, which I took as a compliment. See, absentee landlords have something going for them after all!

Bullis Lock has like most places I review been around 4ever. Highest calibre locksmithing done here.
While others come here for something more in the latest technology vein, one reason I return is because they do mortise locks. You know, the (very) old-​timey ‘keyhole’ type in your old construction apartment doorknobs. I can get duplicates of these when I have an original, or they have a full complement of masters to reference when I don’t possess the original. So I get all the locks on my doors 100% functional, all the better to slow-​down or thwart a potential break-​in (am I wrong to give them this tip here?). I’m a technical-​type myself, and’ve been surprized at what they can do for me when all hope was lost.
So if Bullis does this, you know they do all things lock superior. A tiny amount of off-​street parking, open Sarurday mornings, located couple doors west of Schurz H.S. (by Milwaukee Ave).
