I actually went to grade school with the owners… young brother and sister that have put a lot of work into this place. There is a back patio that is a little sylvan paradise save for the children that occasion to venture out there. Food is good, coffee as well, and the atmosphere is relaxing. Worth stopping by.

UPDATE11÷15÷07: café luna closed a week or so ago. :( ORIGINALREVIEW: i was so hesitant to move to the south side but, one of the reasons i decided to move to beverly was the existence of small neighborhood businesses like this one. café luna consistently has a positive vibe to it, and for a sleep deprived mom of two like myself — it’s just the pick me up i need most days. the staff is helpful and friendly. the atmosphere is very welcoming and laid back. the food and drinks are satisfying and tasty. the café used to have toys for the kids to play with but i think they were worried about any possible litigations from customers tripping or babies choking, etc… they do however, still have a bevy of books for the kids to look at and some kid size chairs and table in the back. at christmas they also have an adorable display of a small christmas village that my three year old LOVES. i’ve spent a few starry nights on their back patio chatting with friends over ice coffees. it is one of the many summer highlights i’ve enjoyed in my short time here. looking forward to many more! :) so, i urge you to check café luna out when you’re in the hood!
