Mark was a phenomenal wedding photographer and we couldn’t be happier with our pictures!!! He was an absolute blast to work with and made us feel super comfortable and at ease. He brought along Julie Valkanet to work with us on the big day, and she was wonderful too! If you hire Mark, he’s going to give you the personal attention all brides are looking for, he is super down to earth, he will come up with wonderful creative ideas to fit the kind of looks you want for your wedding pictures, and he is very detail oriented, which is exactly what you want for your wedding day. It’s only been a few weeks since our wedding and Mark has already sent us a wonderful preview video, and all of the digital pictures for our friends and family to see! We will be getting 3 USB drives in the mail shortly with all of our pictures, which is something most photographers don’t do, and is a great thing to have to send one to each side of the family and to keep one for ourselves. His turnaround time is amazing, I don’t know how he does it!

Mark was extremely personable, professional, and prompt — simply put, he’s AWESOME! He was so great that my husband insisted he put his thumb print on our guest signing thing and took shots with him once his job was finished!
I’m an extreme type-​A bride, and had requested for a few wedding photos within less than a week from the wedding day so that I can use them for my thank you cards, and Mark took time from his crazy busy schedule to provide me with a few within just a few days.
The contract said that I would receive my wedding photos within ONE month from my wedding date or a little sooner, and I was very doubtful that was going to happen because I’ve been disappointed by others so many times, but Mark truly impressed me! just a couple days before the deadline, he sent me a link to show some highlights of my wedding day photos and today, exactly one month from my wedding date, he sent me the link to all (1197) photos and told me he was shipping the USB drive to us today.
I’m a stickler for following through on what one say one would deliver, and Mark is the first or very few people I’ve met who did not disappoint. I’m a bit bummed that I couldn’t get some photos I requested, but it was definitely not his fault that mother nature failed me. Wishing he lives in or near San Francisco so that I can refer him to all of my newly engaged friends and clients!

Mark was the greatest! We worked with Mark both for engagement pictures and our wedding and had a blast at both. He is funny and personable and had a lot of great ideas for shots, which was helpful because It was 50 degrees and raining when we took our engagement pictures, but Mark went out of his way to find warm dry places that looked good, and he even extended the shoot by a half hour to get shots of us at a second location (Kinzie St bridge. DO THIS if he suggests it! It is worth it.) Mark was also the first vendor to actually talk to us about the schedule for the day and had lots of tips that helped everything run smoothly. We are a young couple and among the first of our friends to get married, so it was really helpful to get that kind of advice ahead of time. I was also really impressed by how noninvasive Mark was at the wedding. I almost never noticed him during dinner and dancing, but if I looked for him, he was always there. Sometimes he would notice me posing for an aunt or uncle and would just pop out of the woodwork to get a professional version of the shot as well. Mark’s assistant, Liv, was also amazing. She made sure to communicate with me to make sure she got pictures of everything I felt was important while we were getting ready at the hotel, and on the way to the church, she even offered me some of the snacks she had brought, because she hadn’t seen me eat and was concerned. We have not received our wedding pictures yet, but our engagement pictures look great and are hanging all over our house. Would definitely recommend to anyone getting married in Chicago!

Mark Campbell deserves to be sainted, and his second in command, Julie Valkanet, is an excellent photography artist as well. Mark took on MULTIPLE MEETINGS with me (a very nervous bride) in the course of his super busy schedule. He and Julie took time to teach my bridal party and I (as well as my husband and his groomsmen) about poses, the best places to shoot interesting photos in Chicago (if Mark recommends the Kinzie Bridge, DO IT — you won’t regret it!) Mark and Julie sent me emails throughout the week before the wedding to help us finalize our shot list, plan our timeline, and organize our family portraits at our church ceremony. The day of the wedding, they both showed up on time and instantly put us all at ease. They made sure the day flowed perfectly and we got all the photographs we wanted — they both captured our day beautifully.
Even better, the day AFTER our wedding, we had an email from Mark and Julie with a «sneak peek» of some of the best photos, and on our one-​week anniversary, they suprised us with a beautiful slideshow of photos, set to music and wishing us well in our married life.
There’s no better wedding photography team in Chicago. Trust me.

We used Mark for both our engagement and wedding photos. He was absolutely super to work with. Neither my wife nor I really relish in having our photos taken, but Mark made it a really fun and easy experience. He had a bevvy of ideas for locations and poses for us to try. We also got a lot of compliments from our wedding guests about how nice he was and that he was very unobtrusive at the wedding. The final photos were returned to us time, and (most importantly) they look GREAT. We are super excited to print these and show them off in our home.

Mark was amazing to work with both before the wedding and on the day of. Prior to the wedding, he responded to all my emails very promptly, making me feel confident that he was on top of things. On the day of the wedding, he arrived on time and was very easy to work with. He was cracking jokes, making us laugh, which made it for great photos! He also took a number of priceless candid shots that captured some of the best moments of the day. I highly recommend him!

We worked with Mark this past June for our wedding and had a wonderful experience. He really took the time to speak with us before hand to make sure he captured the day to our wishes. He was great to work with that day, and we were very happy with the final product. We spent a lot of time researching wedding photographers, and also felt he was very reasonably priced, which is hard to find in Chicago.

I work for a small consulting company and we all needed some new headshots taken. Based on the excellent Unilocal reviews, I contacted Mark. He definitely lived up to his reputation — very easy to work with, listened to what we wanted and made my colleagues and I feel comfortable and at ease.
As someone who is never happy with photos of themselves, I have to say I am beyond thrilled with my headshot. We will definitely be using Mark again!

Working with Mark for our wedding was a pleasure. He was very flexible with meeting times and even came to our venue walk through with us to scout out locations for pictures ahead of time. He took some wonderful photos of the bridal party getting ready. He kept a very large and unruly group on schedule without ever seeming pushy. It was ridiculously hot and humid the day of my wedding, and though he worked relentlessly through it, he was very observant, making sure I was comfortable, suggesting I take breaks and cool off while he thought up fun family photos for the others.
He got some great action shots during the reception. He had made a list of things we had thought important to capture during the day which came in helpful when he reminded us we had forgotten the bouquet toss! I can’t say enough good things about our experience with Mark Campbell Photography.

I needed a headshot and didn’t want to spend either a lot of time or money on it. I mean, this was for my linked in page, not the cover of GQ. Mark was great — in, snap, snap, snap, quick review and we were good to go. And the quality is great.

Mark Campbell photographed our wedding on August 3^rd. From start to finish, Mark did an outstanding job. We interviewed many photographers /​companies before choosing Mark. My wife and I are so happy that we went with Mark. We knew after our engagement shoot with him that he is the best photographer you are going to find. We had never worked with a photographer before, so Mark helped us set up shots and suggested poses. The pictures from the engagement shoot turned out fantastic, and we received many compliments on how nice they were (we used some of the photos for our save the date). Mark’s turn around time on getting you copies of the photos is unmatched: we had the engagement photos within two weeks. Our wedding pictures arrived within 3 weeks. Other photographers stated it would take months of waiting, so this was an excellent advantage of using Mark Campbell.
Leading up to the wedding, Mark was in constant contact with us to determine a shot list. Every photo combination we wanted was taken. The photos were amazing. We hired a second photographer through Mark (her name was Julie and she was awesome too!). The two of them worked hard all night taking photos at every opportunity. The pictures turned out amazing! So many good shots that really capture the night.
I can’t recommend Mark Campbell enough. If you are unsure of who to hire for a photographer, HIRE MARK! He is awesome and your pictures will turn out amazing! I would also highly suggest having two photographers because after looking through our photos, it is very neat to have the same shots from multiple angles. This was especially important during our ceremony (which was very short, only 10 minutes). Yet because we had two photographers, there are pictures from every angle. It is totally worth the extra money. Mark and Julia work so well together and were able to capture every moment of our wedding day.

Our wedding was over a month ago and Mark was our photographer for the day. I have never worked with Mark before, and didn’t know anyone personally who worked with him, but I connected with Mark after seeing his work and took a chance on him. Out of all of the decisions that go into planning a wedding. hiring Mark was one of the best.
From the start, Mark was extremely personable and communicated with us regularly to make sure he had our vision in mind. My husband and I didn’t want to feel awkward and forced into wedding poses that would make us look uncomfortable. Mark made sure to capture those genuine moments and reactions between my husband and I and so many people involved in our day. He made us feel completely at ease, and by the end of the day we felt like he was just like a friend to us — supporting us, and bringing out our best throughout the day. Our pictures look real, raw and totally authentic. He captured so many beautiful memories for us to look back on, I am over 100% pleased with our pictures. I have had so many compliments from friends and family about how great our photographer was, and how special our pictures are. I know we will be working with Mark for years to come.

My wife and I planned a destination wedding and were very concerned about how our pictures would turn out. We made the decision that we wanted a photographer to fly with us so we didn’t have to relay on a photographer from the resort that we’ve never met.
We interviewed several companies in the area and just didn’t feel comfortable with the people we met… we didn’t want to have some weirdo stuck with us on our trip. We were ready to throw in the towel but luckily we heard about Mark and his team while attending a bridal shower. I was quick to say «No thank you». Luckily we listened, the guy ended up being the editor of a top wedding publication… since he came highly recommended we decided to setup up one more meeting.
Glad we did… Aside from being an amazing photographer the best way to describe Mark is he’s the type of guy you can grab a beer with.
Mark was very personable and great dealing with stressful situations. We had just finished the ceremony when a micro-​burst came through and ruined everyone’s hair and drenched my wives wedding dress. I have no idea how he did it but he was able to keep everyone calm. Everyone went back dried off, fixed their hair and we ended up with amazing photos.

We hired Mark for our ⁹⁄₂₈ destination wedding in Chicago. He was recommended to me by the DJ company [DRM Entertainment] and we could not have asked for more. I’m a pretty frugal guy, so my ideal wedding photographer would be my friends with digital cameras. Alas, that viewpoint is not shared by my wife, so the next best option was Mark Campbell. He was very reasonable and absolutely top-​tier.
We received the photos via DVD today and they are perfect. He even created a photo label for the DVD… cool added touch, whereas he could have simply written on it with a Sharpie. Also, included was an extra DVD copy for each of our families.
At the wedding, he did his thing and directed the photo shoots and was just super organized and energetic. Highly, highly recommend Mark for your Chicagoland events.

We used Mark for our wedding and he was excellent. The quality of his work is spectacular. He does a great job with traditional poses, but he also got some really creative angles which produced some wonderfully unique pictures. Our family and friends have complimented our pictures many times, and several of them use his photos from our wedding as their profile pictures.
He is also extremely personable. Quite often, weddings are both wonderful and exhaustingly stressful. We were tired when we went to «do the photos» between the service and the reception. Mark really kept it fun. He got all the shots we wanted and came up with some really fun stuff as well.
