I walked in and waited a very long time even though there was only one person in front of me. Then this young, fast talking woman comes out and before she even touched my laptop, she asked if it had Windows Vista on it? I said «yes.» Even though the OS was The Enterprise Business version and an excellent laptop. She said she couldn’t take it. I walked out. I have a loyal Pawn Shop in Oak Park (A-​1 Jewelers and Pawn) that I’ve been dealing with for years. They give me what I want and I always pay within a month. i simply left, drove the 15 miles and pawned my laptop there for a $ 100 loan there. I have never pawned this particular laptop there, but I have pawned other ones there. They never tried to fast talk me. They just pawned it. They know what they are doing. This pawn shop has a distrustful vibe to it. A-​1 Jewelers and Pawn are stand up guys that don’t fast talk you.
I Recently moved to West Rogers Park. I figured I’d give them a shot because they are just a few blocks away.
They have a lot to learn. I won’t go there again. I work in IT and at times pawn a lot of great laptops. I’d rather drive the 15 miles to the Oak Park shop as these people at Cash America Jewelry & Loan are judgemental fast talkers.
