Chase Bank

I called 5 times today. They are open but no one is responding. It just keeps going to voicemail saying they are with other customers. There’s also no way of leaving a phone number and no one to put you on hold. Very annoying.
If they don’t answer soon, I’ll be going in to talk to their manager.

The worse branch. Only two tellers. The line is deep with people who need to see the tellers.

The whole new idea of putting ATMs all over the bank to help yourself and only 2 tellers is just ridiculous. Wait time most times is about 30 minutes to get to a teller. I know I’m not the only one who disagree with this new plan. Also to top of off they cut off the drive thru. Coming in to this bank is no longer pleasing. A necessity but not pleasing.

This chase is disappointing, I have tried on 4 separate occasions to come and avoid the rush. Never works they always say that «today we are short staffed“so let me get this rt in one working week 6 days your short staff 4 days? ! How is this branch still open?

This is my favorite Chase branch. The personal bankers have been a great help and they were even open a few minutes early on a Saturday. Spoke to the manager today and he let me know about some of the improvements they’ve recently made so that customers can get in and out more quickly — an additional drive-​thru ATM and more ATMS inside. Plus I think everyone here speaks both Spanish and English!

I had to write to corporate about this bank branch and actually got a personal response.
Worse experience ever! NO ONE should spend more than and hour in those tiny cubes after waiting 24 mins in the lobby for a ‘banker’ who has NO idea how to handle a situation and calls all over the bank system to have her understand what is happening WHICH is depositing an insurance check into a Chase account! Easy! and brainless!
And calling the MANAGER the next day who’s only response is ‘Didn’t anyone tell you was out of the office?“
Luckily I’ve had three national surveys on banking where I could write how worthless this branch is for its customer! Manager should be fired and so should their ‘bankers’…in fact, this location should be sold!

Managers open up extra tellers during excessive patron waits.

SERIOUSLY?! I am not an unhappy customer. I actually am quite happy with my bank. I lived out in Wrigleyville/​Boystown/​Uptown, and my bank was located on the corner of Irving and Sheridan. Those guys were awesome! Shout out to Brian! He was the nicest, and I could walk in, no questions asked, request to sit down with a banker to count my cash (because, as a bartender, you end up having large quantities of cash that I find a little uncomfortable to count and/​or take out of my bag in a public setting) and I would always, IMMEDIATELY get taken care of. I then briefly lived out in Edgewater, where once again, the Chase near my place was more than hospitable. I’ve found myself walking down Lakeview, and stopped into a random Chase to once again, lighten my load, and found myself greeted with nothing but kindness and eagerness. AND FINALLY, I’ve waltzed into the Chases downtown in the middle of the day and handed my money right to the teller, to have it deposited, and without questions, or having to waste time fumbling with an ATM or deposit slip, I’ve managed to have my money put away for me in minutes, and left.
WHY IS THIS SO HARD FOR THIS LOCATION TO COMPREHEND?! It is without fail, that I walk into this Chase, request to speak with a banker privately, due to the amount of cash I have with me that I would rather not reveal in such a public setting, and am told that there is going to be a wait. I look around, and it is never busy here. There are cubicles for miles, sitting empty. I can see people sitting at their desks, doing nothing, but I have to go sit in the waiting area until my name is called. Usually, I’ve found myself sitting for around ten minutes. Sorry, I guess I’m spoiled by the numerous competent Chase Banks I’ve visited everywhere else in Chicago, that I have just grown accustomed to being able to pull off entering Chase with limited time. I’ve even tried to work with this place. I’ve started going to the teller windows. There are about eight windows, but typically only one or two in use. This Chase doesn’t ever get busy from what I can see, but once again, I find myself waiting far too long for how quiet this place is, due to understaffing, and lackidaisical employees who were never taught social etiquette when working in customer service. I have approached the window, handed my debit card, and ID, and been told that I need to fill out a deposit slip. LITERALLY NO OTHER CHASE EVER MAKES ME DO THIS. IT IS A WASTE OF PAPER, AND MY TIME. Something needs to be done. I don’t know what kind of clientele this place was accustomed to before I came along, but judging from other reviews, it’s time for a facelift. I Can see that I am not the only one with grievances. FIX IT. YOU’RE CAUSING ME TO HATE CHASE BANK.

As far as Chase branches go, this one is sub par.
The building is new, the facilities clean, and the ATMs are top notch. Security is fair and the 24 hour access is essential.
So then why only 2 stars. I have been here a couple of times, and both times I felt like I was standing in line for the new iPhone and not for a teller. I dread coming here if I need anything that I can’t do at the ATM strictly because the wait is ridiculous. It is a busy branch, I get that, but by comparison, this branch has the slowest line/​customer turnabout rate ever.
On top of that, in any branch I have ever been to, the tellers are always willing and happy to look up my account number or fill out my deposit sheet for me. Yes, I understand I should know my account number, but matter of fact is I don’t. So let’s just help me out and move on.
I tolerate this branch because it is my only choice, but I try to minimize my visits.
If you don’t mind the wait though, there is nothing banking related you can’t get done here.

I have no idea why there is so much haterade for this place. The tellers are extremely nice. The bank managers greet you with a smile every single time. I’ve never had to wait more than 2 minutes for anything. And my fiancé and I opened up a joint account and were very patiently walked through the whole process by one of their specialists.

I think this location is actually above average compared to other banks in the area. I find the people inside very helpful and courteous every time I am in there. The plus about Chase is they have cash stations everywhere in the city which is why I bank there.

I stopped in to meet with a personal banker.
First there were a ton of people working.
This is a bilingual place so the reps speak both english and spanish.
After being instructed to wait I was brought to a personal banker to take care of my needs.
She was friendly and helpful, I think her name was Angeles.
Anyhow, while I was in the private/​cubicle area, a different representative interrupted to offer some chips ahoy cookies. This kind of bothered me because when I dealing with my personal banking info I do not want multiple interruptions. It was just kind of rude and a little weird. Angeles took care of everything I needed and even spoke with the investment banker and was able to get my paperwork from him. It was nice only having to deal with one person.

I’m with everyone else on this, I dislike going inside the back. I try to keep my visits here to only the ATM (would like to see more than two ATM’s for the only Chase in the area). The people that work there are not very friendly, if you do not like helping people then don’t work in customer service.

I’m so glad someone out there shares my exact opinion on what happens when you do not have an account there. Thank you Becky M. They treat you as if you don’t count. The six dollar fee is absolutely ridiculous as well! If you do have an account the next thing they bug you about is getting direct deposit. What on earth will they do all day then? This branch has particularly AWFUL customer service. The lines are true, and the worst thing is to watch so many people that work there chatting with each other while you stand there. Its more than awful and I just wish I had started Unilocaling sooner so I could be more specific. Any other chase bank would be a better experience.

STOP asking me to open an account with you! Every single person I deal with every single time I walk in there tells me to open an account. Stop! Please!

We’ve been banking at Chase for a long time but after visiting this branch today I was thoroughly annoyed.
I was having a private meeting with a bank associate about some concerns I had about my account. Another Chase bank employee, who did not know anything about the situation barged in, eavesdropped on our conversation and then gave her annoying opinion. She didn’t know what she was talking about. It frustrated me so much that I told them forget it because they were going in circles.
