Deals deals deals! Who doesn’t like them? Well, I absolutely love deals so ended up buying a Groupon deal for a Pontoon Boat ride for 8 people for 2 hours. At first, I had a hard time on the site but it was only because, you have to put the promo code in way in the beginning of the process before checking the deal you are booking.
Anyways, we visited as a kick off for one of our friend’s birthdays and we absolutely had a blast! We will definitely be booking again for the summer as well as corporate events. The views of the city were incredible from the river!
Lisa, who checked us in, was nice, knowledgeable, and a pleasure to work with. She even took the extra step to come down and take pictures for us and when we got off the boat she was nice enough to ask for my number and sent us the picture. The boats were fun to drive and the Bluetooth radio was a great touch since we were able to blast our favorite tunes while driving past the Merchandise Mart.

My buddy and I rented the pontoon boat for 2 hrs through a living social deal. Had an awesome experience. The staff was really friendly and no one made fun of Danny for having Down syndrome. I know he looks funny but he’s really a great guy. Thanks for an awesome day!

We went out on our pontoon and the experience was terrific. We had initial trouble getting a weekend date weeks in advance, but Joanne did book a date and it worked out well.
When we arrived, the crew working the dock was attentive and professional. We liked them very much. The ramp to get to the dock is pretty steep and the dock can get crowded, but with a little focus, it’s fine.
Our pontoon had reverse but didn’t actually reverse (as far as we could figure) and fortunately we didn’t need it. Our horn didn’t work and they might do that on purpose because we did want to honk at folks for fun!
The weather wasn’t good the day we went out so the river wasn’t very busy, but we did have to pay attention to traffic, especially at the crossings.
We brought refreshments and relaxed and it was really fun for all of us. It is a terrific way for a group to spend time visiting but also seeing a unique self guided view of our beautiful city.

If you are going to advertise a 3 hour pontoon rental from 8−11pm that includes viewing fireworks at Navy Pier, you might want to let your groups know that the Saturday fireworks for the remainder of the Summer are at 10:15pm! We took the 45 minute trip to the area of the river and waited for what we thought were 9:15 fireworks… when they still hadn’t started 9:40 we looked on Navy Pier’s site to find they didn’t start until 10:15pm, not leaving enough time for us to get the boat back before the 11pm cutoff and a late fee assessed. Next time we will use another company… one that actually provides a captain.

I’m giving 3 stars because the people was a little late coming very nice and helpful when they did arrive the boat radio did not work at all no matter what we tried was a Lil disappointed with that. Overall it was a ok experience my first time and will do it again.
