Highly recommended. This was my first time at an ENT for chronic sinusitis. Dr. Pritikin is great. He is easy to talk to and excellent at explaining things. I very much felt that he cared about what was going on with me and wanted me to understand it too (I learned a lot about my sinuses and it was really cool). The staff is very friendly and helpful too.

I highly, highly recommend Dr. Pritikin and CN&SC. Dr Pritikin was the first doctor who correctly diagnosed my chronic cough after 20 years, and now I finally have relief. He truly persevered until we found an answer or diagnosis. He is not only a phenomenal doctor who stays on top of his game and expertise, but he has a great bedside manner as well. So easy to talk to and you truly get the sense that he is listening and absorbing. Only positive things to say!

Wonderful experience! Dr Pritikin, Becky and Cindy are very helpful and patient. Dr. Pritikin gave me several alternate suggestions versus surgery, to cope with my sleep apnea. Ultimately surgery won. lol Thank you!

While I have been an ENT patient at Chicago Nasal & Sinus for years, I hadn’t ever been seen by Amy for allergy testing. I called yesterday to inquire about allergy testing and treatment. Amy took at least 10 minutes on the phone to go thru the process of testing and what I could expect. I was very pleased with the time and personal attention she gave me.

I don’t write many reviews, but both Dr. Pritikin & Amy Brussee are extremely helpful & professional. The office staff got me in last minute & made every effort to help me quickly. I would recommend to anyone!

After an initial good first visit from my primary referral, I was told to call in to schedule my surgery which «could be done next week». My wife called back to schedule, and there was not only no time available «next week» but the girl who scheduled the appointments LAUGHED at my wife when she suggested that they call us back if there was a cancellation for some reason. «That’s not how it works here». Are you kidding me? Laughed, and made a snotty comment. WOW.
Secondly, we were both told that we should have the surgery at a different hospital other than St Joe’s, and it would be covered by insurance. IT WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN. I would have had to pay the bill on my own like other reviewers here. Sorry, but if you are going to make snotty ass comments about how things work at your office at least do your job correctly.
After seeing the negative reviews on here about post surgery issues, I decided to get a second opinion. I’m now scheduled with another surgeon who gave me more options, is performing different procedures (not all as invasive) as the «dremel to your sinus» as Pritikin described it.
Always get a second opinion, and always double check to make sure that your procedures are covered by insurance. Especially if your first visit is here.

Just went for my first post-​recovery bike ride and, for the first time in my life, was able to breathe fully through my nose, thanks to Dr. Pritikin! All of my experiences with him and his staff were as comfortable as possible, given the circumstances. Highly recommended for anyone suffering from nasal issues.

they clean my ears and that’s awesome! I love this place ^_​^ getting my ears cleaned is almost as good as installing a surround sound system except it’s for my body which matters more than some stupid sound system ^_^

Dr. Pritikin and his staff are great. I went for a consultation, as I was having trouble breathing through one nostril and not sleeping well because of it. The consultation was very helpful and we decided to conduct an at-​home sleep study. The results showed that surgery is the best option. However, Dr. Pritikin did NOT push surgery or try to sell me on it. He simply described all of my options and explained each one thoroughly. I will probably elect to have the surgery done, but I have not yet scheduled it. So this review is only for the consultation and follow up.

i am sorry, i dont agree with the other reviewers. they are incompetent and UNPROFESSIONAL, ESPECIALLY when it comes to follow ups. they treat people like numbers and the doctor takes FAR more patients than he should (the earliest apptmt was 1 month later). you want to be greedy? fine, assume the consequences because i switched to a much more personable & professional Dr, Robert Kern (great reviews).
i have suffered from repeat sinus infections which made my life miserable. i was referred to Pritikin by a pcp (who was as incompetent to be honest).
first, you are greeted by someone who talks to you while chewing gum. the dr saw her and was talking to her, but obviously it wasnt a big deal for him.
i presented my history to him and the exact symptoms i suffer from:
all year long congestion and runny nose
repeat sinus infections
chronic snoring
crackling ears which are very bothersome.
not too complex a case. he starts doing what the other reviewers wrote: «listen», explain what he is doing etc…(DON’T fall for this theater). He mentions that we may need to perform an Ear Pressure test, and sends me to the next room for Xray. while with the Xray lady, he shows up with a bag of 3 nasal spray samples. he says he wrote clear instructions on each but only wrote on 1 of them. i had to do research to find out how to use them. then the allergy specialist, referred to as «Medical Assistant» (which she is totally unqualified for), comes to explain the allergy test that would be performed on me. She had hardly walked into the room and started a sentence, that suddenly she said: «we have to close» while wrapping up (?? that’s a first!!! are you a grocery store or something? WHO does that?)
so i schedule an allergy testing apptmt and show up. this apptmt was supposed to be 1 hr during which you are left ALONE in the room for more than 30 minutes. they find out i have very minor allergies and we get to the conclusion that my symptoms are not all related to them. No clear explanation there, but that is fine, as long as i can get a personalized treatment that WORKS.
she is CLEARLY an allergy specialist — and nothing else. you will immediately feel that whenever you ask about allergies, she has more confidence, faster responses than when you ask about anything else.
she recommended Claritin D (have u heard of that med? ;)). i asked if i should use my Flonase along with Claritin. Answer?

HUH? i am going to a DOCTOR’S office to be told to DECIDE MYSELF if i should take a medicine or not? i am going there for guidance, for Pete’s sake!
then i wondered. what about my other issues? crackling ears? what about the ear pressure test he told me about? should i get it? what about snoring?
Answers: «umm.let’s see. i dont know why he mentioned the ear pressure test…» And i got NO response about the snoring.
well but i went there for that??? no solution? WHO is going to provide me with those solutions when my case is making my life miserable? and it’s been 2 visits after a month wait!
and do you think she mentioned i should take Claritin D in the MORNING because sudafed in it causes insomnia? NOT. i went through 2 days of sleeplessness because of that… until my pharmacist informed me it shd be taken in the a.m.
i couldnt see the dr that day either. and guess what? after a series of unanswered questions, i got the same thing from her again: «we have to close» lol and it had been exactly 1 hr that i had been inside in total (as scheduled).
a few days later, i call to speak with the Dr because i simply didnt feel reassured or satisfied with the answers i was given (after all, we go to a Dr for reassurance). i get someone called Becky who is rude, hostile & argumentative & who TOOK IT UPON HERSELF TO TELL ME THAT I SHOULD TAKE FLONASE!!! and she is an… office assistant? she was more concerned about being defensive than about making sure she LISTENS to what i am calling for. i told her my concerns werent addressed, and the answer was that maybe i should schedule a new apptmt with the Dr. I told her: my job as a patient is to SUBMIT my list of concerns to the Dr and the Dr’s JOB is to GUIDE me. i am not supposed to be chasing them to make them follow my case, am i??? after all, most of my case has not been resolved! if i should call the Dr for a new appointment, they should have told me that earlier, not wait for me to inquire!
5 days later, i call back asking why the Dr didnt call: the chewing gum lady says he is busy and «the notes are on his desk.»
it has been exactly 9 days, and the Dr never called back.
dont you love how much he cares about his patients?
Bottom line: this dr has zero management skills and does NOT invest time in providing ANY follow up. he swiftly forwards you to his assistant unless you need $URGERY, if you know what i mean (even though i read compaints by other reviewers about botched surgery with him).
so go there at your own ri$k.

Not unlike most people who come to Chicago Nasal & Sinus Center I came in in rough shape. After months dealing with a antibiotic resistant sinus infection I was struggling and needed more help than my usual Dr. could provide.
After a quick initial review of my symptoms and previous treatments and a scan of my sinuses, surgery was recommended by Dr. Pritikin. I spoke with him in depth about the turbinate reduction, and why it was needed and came to his conclusion that I should go ahead and have it. Being someone who has never had surgery outside of wisdom teeth, I was relatively inexperienced, but Dr. Pritikin eased my fears while talking me through the benefits.
Going into the surgery, while nervous, I was confident that Dr. Pritikin was the correct Dr. for me; his staff at St. Joe’s backed up my fears. Not only were they nice, but they were fun and jovial, something that made me feel more at home going into surgery. I know it sounds weird, but sometimes you just need someone light hearted to ease your fears.
Not only did his staff allow my family into the waiting room before my surgery, but they were excellent when in recovery as well. In post op, after listening to me ask for ice chips instead of pain medicine more than once, they went ahead and give me the ice I was asking for. At that moment I couldn’t have been more grateful! I knew I was drugged up, but they actually listened to me and made me a happy camper in the process. Meanwhile my Mom, who was waiting in the outpatient surgery center, was more than pleased at how Dr. Pritikin treated her and how he discussed me. She was tickled when she heard that I was alright and she was glad to see me post surgery in a happy state claiming that while I had a nose bleed, I was actually feeling wonderful! I can’t lie, I was feeling pretty excellent!
Four weeks later I am ecstatic at how I have progressed. All of the possible side effects that could occur when doing this type of surgery, I have not experienced. And, most importantly, my sinus infection has dissipated. Dr. Pritikin let me know that my bad sinus infection was not a figment of my imagination and put me on the path of health.
Personally I believe Dr. Pritikin is a true master of his craft, as evident by my success. His staff is also exceptional! I called more than once for questions regarding the surgery and issues with my PTO post surgery, which they were more than happy to help me with. Cindy helped me most of the time, and I couldn’t have been more pleased with how she explained things with me and how she worked out issues with my employer regarding PTO. I can’t thank them everyone in their office enough!
My recommendation is that if your looking for an ENT in the Chicago area, you should consider Dr. Pritikin’s office. He and his staff are more than exceptional when dealing with ENT issues. Months later I couldn’t be more happy with my results and hopefully you wont be either!

Very easy, very efficient, and most importantly, very effective.
I had a deviated septum surgery– it had prevented me from clear breathing for years. A quick initial visit confirmed that was my diagnosis, we scheduled the surgery– I even had to reschedule for a new date, with no problems– and the surgery was a success. Pretty painless overall.
The surgery and follow-​up visit were very quick as well. I had never had surgery and the staff at St Jude’s was great as well as Dr. Pritikin– answering all questions, making you feel comfortable.

I’m still super impressed with this office. The surgery went so well. I was so impressed with how quickly it went, as were my parents, who tagged along to the hospital to drive me home. Although the recovery wasn’t the best time I’ve ever had, Dr. Pritikin was available to answer any of my questions and his PA worked quickly when I went in for my followup appointment. The sutures have almost finished healing and then hopefully I’ll be back to normal! I would highly recommend this office for your nasal and sinus concerns. They are great!

As far as docs go, especially surgeons, this is as good as it gets. Amy, Dr. Pritikin and Cindy are great. Highly recommend.
As an aside… Make sure to ask questions and find out what your expectations should be. This definitely makes any surgery less anxiety provoking.

Misleading pricing /​insurance advice — for a standard tonsillectomy (which typically cost around $ 6,000 on the high end) I was billed nearly $ 15,000 as an OUTPATIENT procedure. I was told the procedure would be covered in full by my (very good) insurance, but of course it was not.
I should have know better, given a somewhat shady start to my experience with their office — for both of my first two visits (nearly 2 months apart) their credit card machine was ‘not working’ and therefor required I pay cash — while this is understandable one time, but a little shady to happen over and over — shouldn’t a reputable business be anxious to fix a credit card machine?
I would not recommend going here.

Dr. Pritikin and his whole staff are excellent.
They worked with me on some sinus issues for a couple years. Cindy, especially, provided outstanding customer service and stood up to my insurance company in ways I never would have expected – above and beyond doesn’t even begin to cover it! She eventually managed to reverse declined charges on not one, but TWO surgeries that were specifically excluded by my policy and that I would have been out many thousands of dollars for. Outstanding.
I can’t say my sinus problems are completely gone, but they’ve improved, and I’ve always had nothing but a great experience working with these folks.

Dr. Pritikan and staff were great. Cindy really worked with me to figure out an appropriate surgery date and made sure everything was in-​line with insurance. I got my tonsils removed and a deviated septum corrected.
The Doc was very access able before and after the surgery and clearly explained what was involved and what risk factors I should be aware of. A couple of follow-​up visits after the surgery and I’m fully healed and sleep way better and don’t snore, which the Mrs. is happy about.
They are also right down by Daley plaza and really easy to get to with public transit.

I didn’t die on the operating table, so they get a solid four stars.
Kidding aside, Dr. Pritikin and his physician assistant, Amy Brussee, are fine for what I need them for: fixing my sinuses, keeping rhino viruses in check, etc. I usually see Amy for anything not involving scalpels. She’s attentive and descriptive; I appreciated her help during my sinus surgery – calm and reassuring when I thought things would never get better. Things did get better, and the rest of the staff is wonderful.
The only way any doctor gets my five-​star award is if they have a magic wand to make everything better with a wave of their hand. :)

Dr. Pritikin is a great doctor. He worked with me to try and decrease my allergies with various medications. When that didn’t help, we talked about surgery. I decided to have my deviated septum fixed in conjunction with having my turbinates reduced. The surgery went fine and in under a week I was feeling about 99%. I can breathe so much so easier now, it’s amazing what a difference the surgery made.
On a side note, my insurance denied my claim after my surgery because I had my septum fixed and my turbinates reduced during the same surgery. I guess my insurance would have preferred paying for two separate surgeries… Cindy had called before my surgery to clear it with BCBS, and received the ‘go-​ahead’ from them; so there was no fault on Dr. Pritikin’s office for the claim denial. Cindy spent about 5 months going back and forth with BCBS until they finally approved my claim. She would call me every month or so to keep me up to date on where my claim stood, which I really really appreciated. A million thank you’s to Dr. Pritikin and Cindy!
