I hadn’t gone to Chipotle in over a year when I went in today. I won’t be returning. From start to finish, I was rushed through my order and was confused as to what was happening. I told them I was doing three separate orders and they started the first order by putting brown rice in a bowl, which I didn’t request. The rest of the order went accordingly, with no customer service but instead a rush to get me out the door. The oddest part was it wasn’t even busy. When I arrived I was the only person ordering. At the end of the order, I realized I had a coupon for free chips and salsa. I handed it to the employee and she said it was too late because she already rung up my order. That coupon will likely go to waste because I’m not coming back. I would highly recommend finding another Chipotle in the area.

Came here to grab some quick cheap dinner in the area. I got the bowl with chicken, white rice, onions and peppers, black beans, lettuce, cheese, and tomatoes. This was my first time getting it as a bowl but wanted to try the bowl since I’ve only had it in burrito form. After this experience, I will stick with the burrito wrap as all the flavors of the ingredients don’t quite come together when they’re all laid out in a bowl. It tasted very meh and I couldn’t even finish it when I can easily do that with a burrito wrap.

This place is nasty. Girl was coughing repeatedly in her hands as she made my tacos. She didn’t even change her gloves. Cancelled my order midway through and left. This has to be some kind of health code violation. Disgusting.

If you’re a fan of fast food places CONSISTENTLY getting your order wrong and incomplete then this is the Chipotle for you! I’m so done ginving this location my business, the one on Clybourn and Cortland NEVER screws up, I’m taking all my future business over there.

My son loves Chipotle, and at least once a month we’re forced to eat at this location because it’s in our neighborhood. This location consistently provides a less than desirable experience. Today, the chicken didn’t seem cooked all the way. We had a mixture of cooked, as well as pink pieces of chicken mixed up in our dinner which was pointed out by my 9 year old.(If a 9 year old knows the chicken isn’t cooked, I’m VERY concerned by the fact that the cook didn’t.) The last time we visited this location about a month ago they were out of lemonade in the fountain machine. They’re always out of something. There is clearly an issue with the management. This Chipotle location makes me never want to eat Chipotle again which is saying a lot coming from Los Angeles where we ate Chipotle on a weekly basis…

Really nice, clean, friendly Chipotle. I go here at least 2x a week because I work nearby. The staff is very friendly and whenever I ask for anything they say«of course!» I’ve witnessed a business man buy a homeless guy a chipotle gift card. Today I went in and realized I grabbed my ID instead of my debit card so I ran out of there embarrassed. When I returned I got back in line and tried to buy my previous bowl but they couldn’t sell it to me for business reasons BUT I got a new bowl and the guy gave it to me for free! Thank you!

We love Chiptole, but hate this specific location. Every time we come here and one specific employee is working, it’s a guarantee our orders will be awful, low on protein and we will be treated rudely. This employee is easy to spot, he’s massive and looks and acts like a giant baby. He is extremely rude, and acts like serving you is a privilege even though it’s just his job. I never write reviews, but I’m so tired of this guy and the immature and unprofessional staff at this location. Unfortunately it’s my local chipotle so I have no choice.

Great people. Food is fresh and tastes amazing. I got the bowl with sofritas and i got a big fair portion if it. I think the portions are great. Cashier was very friendly. A+++ I don’t understand all the bad reviews my experience was great :)

The free burrito/bowl/whatever deal if you ordered a sopritas(tofu) bowl(or whatever), was enough to lure me out of my increasing trend of being bored with Chipotle. The sopritas bowl was fine, but yeesh what’s with how dirty this location felt to me? I saw several dirty tables that hadn’t been cleaned at all just as I was finishing my meal, and the men’s bathroom was a mess. I don’t expect much out of workers of businesses like this and will overlook minor things like if there’s a tiny bit of messiness in a bathroom, but seriously for it to be as dirty as I saw it here is very disappointing. Minus one star automatically for how dirty this location felt. And when I’ve been to other Chipotle locations(hint: these workers should see how good service is at the one at Village Crossing in Skokie. and also I like the one on Sheridan Rd. in Rogers Park better), they make this one pale in comparison. At least the employees weren’t rude, and were doing their job fine. I just wish they could put more effort into cleaning up the interior/tables/bathroom/etc, every so often! I am glad I did get some free Chipotle food out of this promotion, but I know it won’t be via coming back to this location anytime soon, if ever. Sadly, I suspect the location at Logan Blvd./Elston would’ve been cleaner(and if not for winter, I wouldn’t have minded the 3(?) block walk), but I was trying to barely make it to one to take advantage of this promotion(and along the Damen bus), before the 10pm closing. Too many other options around the crotch(including my random discovery that 5411 Empanadas had just opened a location, and even open late enough for me), to come back here.

Hands down, the worst Chipotle I’ve ever been to. Incredibly stingy on the protein, dejected and rude staff, and immature/inexperienced management. Where you go for Chipotle depends usually on its location. If there is one in your hood, that’s your jam. Unfortunately, for me, this is mine, and the following is my experience from the 30 times I’ve hit it: 1. I’ve never been to another Chipotle where they are so stingy with their protein. My wife, my sister-in-law, brother-in-law, friends, and I have all had issues with their protein that result in unwanted confrontations with the staff. They give you less than one, single-layer of a spoon of meat. And if you ask for any more, they immediately tell you you’ll have to pay for double-meat. It’s so ludicrous, that I’ve gotten double-meat every time I go in now to avoid the headache and embarrassment of having to grovel for more meat. This is clearly a cost-cutting measure implemented at this location because every staff member does it. I’m not kidding, the Madison & Lasalle location gives more than twice the amount of protein than this one. 2. While they are light on protein, they are heavy on everything else. Maybe that’s how they are being trained so that your meal looks big, but costs them the least? If I say«easy on the sour cream,» I somehow always get a half an entire spoonful smothered over the entire bowl. Easy on the beans… glop, entire spoon. Wtf? 3. The staff seems dejected, despondent, and downright rude. They aren’t listening to your order, they aren’t making eye contact, and you find yourself repeating what you want over and over again. Don’t you dare ask for more meat, or they’ll sneer at you and act like you’re begging for hand-outs. Regardless of what you do, they will look at you as if your very presence is annoying them. 4. Due to the lack of care, the staff constantly messes up the orders. On one occasion, I asked for chips. Didn’t get them, but was charged anyway. Another time, I asked for two chips, both with guac. They gave me the chips but no guac, and charged me for guac. Lastly, I ordered two chicken bowls, and they charged me for steaks. The cashier gave me this annoyed look, almost as if to say«do you really want me to reverse this, or will you just pay it?» So I ended up paying for it just to avoid the headache and inevitable delay. Now, every single time I order, they ask«do you want a receipt?» and I have to say yes, just to confirm they got it right. 5. The management is immature. One of the managers in the evening shift is always horsing around, laughing, dicking around, and generally just not acting like a manager. They are counting cash on the table, licking their fingers, counting more cash, then crimping the lids onto your bowls, and dicking around some more. That’s just nasty. The other day, the dude on the grill had his pants under his ass and his boxers are just hanging out. Wtf. This place is busted. Franchise management needs to audit this place. 6. Miscellaneous. Brown rice always undercooked. Steak and chicken always cold. Fajitas always out. Salad dressing frequently out. Chips, just wow. Less than in a bag out of a vending machine. Seriously, come on. Corporate, clean this place up. It is a far cry from the reputation Chipotle likes to uphold and an embarrassment to the brand. **EDIT** Holy crap, sort the reviews by date and read them. I’m not the only one that thinks this place is garbage.

By far the worst Chipotle I have ever been to. The food is cold and over cooked. They never have the ingredients I want. They also are very stingy with all the ingredients. They supply you with the minimalist amount of protein. You are essentially eating a rice burrito. NEVERGOINGBACK!

I live in the area and I have tried this place 4 times. EVERYTIME I am disappointed. Either my food is cold or they are out of something. Last night, my boyfriend and I were craving Chipotle. We came in around 7:30PM and actually left 3 minutes later. The girl(with the huge hickey on her neck and marijuana shaped earring) stated they were out of pinto beans. I asked her when the next batch was to be made and she said, «we are not making anymore tonight». Why would you not make the main essential to a burrito?! Mind you, this location closes at 10PM. I’m curious why this place decided not to make any more food 2.5 hours before closing. Never heard of such a thing. Pure Laziness. I decided to drive to the Chipotle on Clybourn. The staff is actually professional and continuously make the food until they are closed. Do yourself a favor and drive to the Chipotle on Clybourn. Their food is actually warm and presentable(they actually stir the food every few minutes unlike the Chipotle in Wicker Park. It always looks like something died in the food) . I will be coming to the Clybourn location from now on. I am writing a complaint letter to Corporate as well.

This Chipotle seems to put way less food in its burrito bowls than other Chipotles do. If I’m going to pay between $ 9 and $ 12 dollars for a single fast food(or ‘fast casual’) meal, I expect to feel satisfied afterward. My expectations haven’t been met for a while at this location.

Been all around the USA and have become a chipotle connoisseur. This is hands down the smallest portion chipotle I’ve ever been to. Quit skimping on the ingredients to get your bottom line higher management. Chabba

I love this location! Everyone is so friendly and beyond patient when dealing with a stampede of customers who come here daily. Only complaint I do have is in regards to the few times I have gotten steak instead of chicken; every piece was inedible. But my friend who lives down the street and comes here every other day says that is a fluke since he always gets steak and generally has no complaints in that department. Inside of the restaurant is well kept. All in all, a good place for a yummy meal.

It’s a Chipotle. You probably know what you’re getting into. The location, however, is great. If it’s a nice summer day, I could spend however hanging out around the Damen/North/Milwaukee intersection. I’ve been to this Chipotle several times and it’s always been pleasant. They also have windows that open up to the outside when it’s nice out.

What’s better than Chipotle? A Chipotle run by hipsters. It is truly my favorite location. The employees are friendly, portions are generous and there is plenty of seating. Bonus: They know how to make a quesoritto!

This may be the first Chipotle that I’ve ever considered never coming back to. I’ve given it many chances and the staff continues to get worse. They are in no rush to help guests. The portions are incredibly small as well. The Chipotle on Elston and Logan is far better.

Like most of the negative reviewers of the Damen location, I eat Chipotle pretty often. In fact, as a SoCal native, I know my way around parts of the city by proximity to Chipotle, so you can imagine my excitement when I realized I have my very own Chipotle in my work hood. I have continued to go back to this location hoping, wanting, and dreaming that I might eventually have a good experience but tonight I must admit defeat. First, this location is ALWAYS out of steak, and I actually mean always as in I’ve never ordered it and had it added to my bowl. I have to wait«5 – 10 minutes,» which in real time is always closer to 15 minutes, every single time I go in there. Annoying? Yes, but at least I avoid the cold mess everyone else here seems to receive. Next, the staff is unbelievably rude. I have never been treated with such open hostility and aggravation by employees for simply giving their establishment my business. I have literally gotten eye rolls, sighs, and skimpy portions for«modifying» my order. Sorry, isn’t the purpose of an open assembly line to build your order to your liking? I was also told off by an employee for declining to take a seat one of the many times I was left waiting for steak while the rest of my burrito bowl gathered dust. I actually had to tell her to stop talking; I could not believe someone in customer service would openly attack a patron for declining to sit. What is this, Nazi Germany? I could go on but I’m sure I’ve made myself clear on this location’s customer service opportunities. Tonight, the Damen Chipotle went for broke. The two girls in front of me get up to the front of the line where they are greeted by an employee who asks them for the time. Seriously? One of the girls plays along and tells him it’s 6pm, to which he replies«Jesus Christ, really?» I’ve had similar thoughts after a long day at work, but I cannot envision verbalizing them in front of my customers. He proceeds to make their order and finally it’s my turn. I look down the line and see an employee adding steak to the empty container, and think«yes! Tonight is finally my night!» I have my turn with the time-keeper who I realize has at some point dipped his entire glove into the pinto beans.(Quick side note, I go pretty far out of my way and sacrifice a lot to avoid consuming pork. It doesn’t make sense to everyone because I’m not a vegetarian, but it doesn’t have to as I’m not asking anyone else to refrain from eating pork. End rant.) So time-keeper grabs a burrito bowl container with his pinto bean glove and starts shoveling rice with unbelievable inaccuracy. It was actually funny, like his objective was to avoid getting rice into the bowl. At this point I notice the porky mess he’s made of my burrito bowl container and very politely tell him I need a new bowl without beans inside the container. He asks me if I’m serious and I assure him that I am. The staff begins shouting down the line to each other about this unbelievable thing where people who don’t eat pinto beans actually like getting food that is pinto bean free. I know, crazy. I finally get a new bowl and am asked by each employee as I make my way down the line why/how/if I hate beans. Ummm, none ya? Also, at this point I realize there is an entire line of people privy to my dietary preferences. Awkward. So do yourself a favor: if you happen to be in Bucktown doing some shopping or drinking, pick one of the amazing food establishments that actually appreciates your patronage. I know it will be tempting to wander into Chipotle for a quick bite, but your faith in this organization will undoubtedly falter. Super sad because I have never had a bad Chipotle experience, nationally, but this location needs to get its act together. Hire some people who care about serving the public, or at least are not out to ruin someone’s day, and do some foundational training so employees know what quality presentation looks like. Hope this review reaches someone who is able to address the terrible standards at this location, or at least saves potential customers from having my experience.

I’ve NEVER written a Unilocal review, but I felt like I had to after my experience here. I eat at Chipotle fairly often, so I know what to expect when I order a burrito. I had to ask the girl 2 times for more rice because she was only giving me less than half of a spoon-full(literally). The beans were ok, but then when she got to the barbacoa she picked up a few tiny strands of meat and called it a day. I asked for more meat, but she told me I’d be charged for double meat… The burrito was wrapped up and more than half tortilla… it was pathetic. I never complain, but i explained the situation to the manager who was more than happy to remake my burrito properly. Now, again, I’ve been eating at Chipotle about once a week for a few years now… this was the worst burrito I’ve ever had. It was very watery, and the barbacoa was not only super fatty but also completely tasteless. This is not my first bad experience at this location. I tried giving it another chance, but was severely disappointed Love Chipotle, but will definitely NOT be coming back to this location.

I’m a sucker for Chipotle, I don’t know what it is. I think they lace their cilantro rice with crack, maybe that’s it. This one also just happens to be down the street from me. Whenever I go here, this one is usually pretty empty and the staff always piles on the goods. No complaints here!
