The lady I met with was extremely courteous, helpful and kind. She was willing to see me on the same day that I called and explained how she valued each of the items I brought. She even provided me with background on the jewelry resale industry and what sells well and what doesn’t – in her line of business. I think that last is very important. If you have unique TRULY one-​of-​a-​kind pieces, I believe this is your best bet. But, I had your standard, run of the mill, jewelry (diamond wedding band, Omega watch, strand of pearls), none of which would sell for very much to this company’s demographic. Therefore, she made me an offer that was well below what I anticipated and I went home and decided to try my hand on eBay. I’m really glad I did, b/​c I was able to sell just TWO of the 5 – 6 things I brought for her for more than 3x what she offered.

With my divorce on-​going, money tight, and a nice engagement ring in a drawer, I wanted to sell. Every time I mentioned this to a friend. they told me to be careful how scary it can be, and how easily you get ripped off. I went to CIRCA. and I was treated very well. As you can imagine, it’s emotional selling something under those circumstances, and the man with whom I worked didn’t ask many probing questions to make an awkward situation. He told me an amount he could cut immediately, and also that if I gave him a couple days to really examine it (I didn’t have any certifications or papers) it might be more. I took the money upfront. Very nice people here, and a really professional office that will put you at ease.

I set up an appointment with Ed. Walked in to a beautiful office with a nice receptionist who took my name and asked me to take a seat. In only a few minutes Ed came and greeted me and walked me to his evaluation room. He was very nice and explained everything to me. He let me know the positive and negative aspects of each piece, and gave me an idea of what he would cut me a check for that very minute if I were up to it. I told him I had to think about it and he totally understood. In fact, he encouraged me to sleep on it for a few days and said his offer would be good for a week.
Although I didn’t sell the jewelery, when it comes time to sell it, I will likely go back to Circa. I have sold other jewelery elsewhere and usually it is a very uncomfortable situation.
If you are in the market to sell some jewelry, the only other place in this whole city I would recommend to you to consider selling at is A&R Estate Buyers with Keith. He was also amazing. I reviewed them too check it out.

I came in with 14K and diamond rings appraised near $ 2400. The man who looked at them was very nice and extremely friendly, complimented my purchases and made me feel comfortable with the process. However, the offer made to buy them from me was $ 180.
I would have sold them for 6% of their appraised value?
Come on… I could have sold my rings for scrap and had gotten a better price for that! I didn’t feel like I wasted my time, but I’m just glad I had my stuff appraised prior to potentially selling (it only cost 1% of the total appraised value –$ 24!).

I sold my mother’s ring to Circa Jewelers. They cut a check on the spot and are very understanding that the decision can be emotional. I knew going into it that I would not get nearly close to the appraised value of the ring but I was told that by the appraiser as well.
My point is, if you are holding onto a valuable piece that you don’t use and don’t like aesthetically, you might want to consider selling it and using the money for something that truly IS you. the idea of keeping heirlooms, in my opinion, is becoming antiquated-​holding onto something forever just to hold onto it benefits no one. Make your self happy now.
