Cirque du Soleil KURIOS

If you haven’t been to a Cirque Du Soleil show, go not wait, buy tickets get into your car and drive to the nearest city with a performance. I’ve been to 3 in three different cities now and they’re all simply amazing. Don’t worry yourself about where your seats are. All the seats are great!

Great show. I have seen most of the touring Cirque du Soleil that have come to Chicago, and this was one of my favorites.
I like that they had a bridge above the stage that audience members could go across prior to the star of the show.
The skill set of this particular group was amazing. Some of the best contortions and balancing acts I have ever seen, and they had a hand puppet act with a live camera that was very entertaining.
My favorite act was the chair balancing with the unique twist.
The weakest part was the invisible circus. I understand that there are going to be some less exciting acts as they transition between the important parts of the show, but it was such a long bit.

My first cirque show and an absolutely AMAZING experience! We went VIP (and I’m so glad we did) because our evening started off with really delicious snacks and complimentary wine and champagne! HELL YES. And the food was tasty, and the staff was so friendly, and then we had great seats!
The show itself was breathtaking. I’m just amazed at what people are capable of doing, and I couldn’t shut up about it for days. I know it will only be a matter of time before I can make it to another cirque show and I know without a doubt I’ll go VIP again (totally worth the cost) and treat myself to a nice night watching incredible performers!

Again Cirque du Soleil never let me down!!! amazing show from beginning to the end. highly recommended this show. I cant explain how exciting I was. music, talent, extremely professional.

My first time to see Cirqui du Solei and I was very pleased by all the different acts going on from juggling, hanging from upside-​down bike, contortionists, balancing on multiple high chairs, balancing on a board over a multiple cylinders on ground and in air, multiple trampoline acrobatics, add/​balancing a 4 person tower, and some yo-​yo tricks! Surprisingly it wasnt hot inside the tent despite humid temps outside that day!

We scored some great discount tickets through Travelzoo. Our impressive seats were 5 rows back and allowed my nieces to fully take in all the splendor and humor of a Cirque du Soleil up close! I loved the steampunk and maritime theme of this show, the quirky characters, and the amazing acrobatics. My nieces had a great time, and I think this was a great show to introduce them to the magic and magnificence of Cirque du Soleil.

I have seen a few of the permanent Cirque shows in Las Vegas as well as several touring shows in Chicago and Dallas. This was by far not their best work. I am huge fan of theirs but I was disappointed in Kurios. It’s difficult to say exactly why but I will try my best. Most of the acts were excellent but several were quite lackluster and detracted from the overall quality and continuity of the show. There was a major technical issue with one of the acts where hand/​finger actors’ movements on stage were supposed to be projected onto a large hot air balloon suspended from the ceiling. The stage went dark and the act was basically pulled from the stage as it was happening — very uncharacteristic of Cirque du Soleil. They announced there was a technical issue; several awkward minutes of darkness ensued while they tried to gather the next act together to take the stage. (OK, so I can’t necessarily fault them for something that was probably a one-​time anomaly, but if a piece of technology or lighting element or prop is not rock solid, then they shouldn’t be taking chances with it in a production show.) Another reviewer mentioned how great the music was — the violin and cello players were awesome but I felt like there was not enough variety to the musical selections — it seemed like EVERY song prominently featured the female singer vocalizing (no words) which felt very repetitive. One last comment — all of the acrobatic stunts were outstanding as usual. However I felt like there were too many ups and downs, with high-​energy acrobatic acts interspersed with the lower-​energy comic /​artistic things. They should stick with more of the «wow factor» stuff.

What an incredible evening of high fliers and comedy. I would recommend this extravagant performance to everyone!

Cirque du Soleil at it’s finest! We have seen almost every Cirque show since it’s inception and this is one of the BEST! This is a definite MUST SEE!!!
For a brand that is known for it’s creativity, this one does not disappoint. Without spoiling it for anyone who is planning to see it, I will say that I’m surprised & pleased to see the new fresh choreographed acts that are perfectly performed with precision skills. (TIP: you’ve never seen juggling until you’ve been here!!!) The music too was amazing and unique as all of the other past shows have been as well. The violinist with the orchestra played pure heaven, very dramatic music that enhanced the action.
I must say though that it is rather chilly inside the tent for a summer night, and so I would advise you to bring a sweater. I recall having seen OVO here a few years ago and we also thought the same thing — really chilly inside! Parking was quite expensive ($ 29) in the lot but across the ways there was another lot advertising $ 25 (you cannot miss it with the flaggers waving you down). I also hear though that there is free parking on some local streets but since we did not knowing the area well, we decided to stay within the venue parking lot.
Kudos to Cirque du Soleil KURIOS! Highly imaginative, great execution! All professionals! Thanks for keeping the quality as good as it gets!
