Very nice guy who did my pedicure. He was there by himself. His name is Ken. Perfect pedicure and he took his time. Will be back!

Nail salons… one of my guilty pleasures. I’ve been here 3x– and will continue going back. It’s I can usually walk in with and get seated within 5 minutes, the ladies work fast and my nails look nice for a week or two. Mehhh… they don’t take tips on credit cards. I don’t carry cash so I felt like an a-hole the first time I went, because I didn’t tip… Take tips on the credit cards!!! I hate having to remember to grab cash before I go.

I have been here a couple of times. If you are going for a pedicure, ask for the older lady. No one else there is any good. I’ve gotten gel nails there and the woman that does them files your nails all crooked. The last time I went I got a no chip and HOWAWFUL. I have gone to Cici nails in Lakeview for my last no chip, but I wasn’t in the area, so I went here. They soaked my hands in scalding hot acetone while I was getting a pedi, and then scraped the polish off with a metal tool. I had just gotten my gel nails off about 4 weeks before that and it really hurt to have her scraping. I had to tell her to take it easy a couple of times. When she finally got around to painting my nails she did it one hand at a time and really quick. My nails looked like they had been painted by a 5 year old, the color was not even, and it just overall looked crappy and cheap. They started chipping off after a week. They have very little color options for no-chip and I will not be going back there EVERAGAIN.

City Nails is walking distance from my house, so of course I wanted them to be great for that last minute mani/pedi. While the place is typical in terms of pricing and options, and low on choices of color, the people here are super nice. They always remember me, even when I take longer than the typical 3 weeks between visits and they don’t rush through a pedicure even when the line begins to form. For $ 25, you can’t beat the salt scrub, massage and polish! Add $ 10 and get a manicure while you are at it. They also do waxing and acrylics, which I am scared to do, but always admire the fancy artwork on those who dare. The owner is a nice man and his family is all working in here on the weekends — including his young daughter who runs the credit card machine! The best test is the fact that my toe polish can last a month — which is amazing! Figners, I will always screw up, but not due to anything they do wrong!
