History

Established in 2011.

Coco Cooks originated from a genuine passion in cooking and nurturing others. Starting with a food blog created over five years ago, Courtney, the chef owner found herself getting many requests to create meals, events, and demos for others. Courtney has always had a hand in the catering industry, learning from some of Chicago’s best as she turned her avocation into a vocation. After being laid off working for a local cosmetics company for over twelve years, Courtney «dropped her bucket «where she was and ventured out on her own, creating Coco Cooks Catering. One constant remark Courtney always hears is that her food makes people happy. See for yourself.

Courtney Nzeribe, the chef behinf Coco Cooks, is an extremely talented chef and a delight to work with. She is flexible, creative and goes above and beyond for her clients. Plus, did I mention that the food is amazing? One of my guests called Courtney’s cheesecake the best she’s ever tasted. She put together a terrific menu of finger foods that were beautiful and filling for a recent event in my home. I highly recommend her services.

Courtney was wonderful to work with! She helped with the menu planning, cooking, serving at a baby shower. Everyone could not stop talking about the food which was so incredibly good in addition to looking beautiful. She was even able to make traditional items like chicken pot pie into a delightful finger food.
She made planning very easy by being extremely accessible and sending details thru via email to review. She was also extremely accommodating in making any adjustments needed.
Courtney also arranged for servers for our event and they were fantastic!
They were so friendly and helpful in making the event go more smoothly.
On top of this she was very reasonable in her pricing!

Courtney was perfect for us. Her prices are very reasonable, she’s easy to work with via email and phone, and very accessible. She worked us into her busy schedule since she LOVES to cook and cater. We had a cocktail party — Octoberfest theme — and she came back w/​great menu ideas. I was able to select from an assortment of possibilities and we easily came up w/​the final menu. I was referred to her from friends (2 separate parties) that she has catered this past summer. They both gave her glowing reviews. Now I can speak from personal experience that she is an awesome caterer. The highlights per the party guests were the mini-​brats on breadstick rolls, fat pretzel bar, and butternut squash soup shooters. YUM! No complaints whatsoever. I’d hire her again in a heartbeat.
