The worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life !! Why on earth it is so difficult to show up at your appointments?! I had 3 appointments scheduled to activate the service, they failed to showed up 3 times! They offered me $ 50 credit for the inconvenience-​which I appreciate-​and the promise a tech will definitely show up on the 3^rd scheduled appointment next day… but guess what, failed to showed up again!! They are insisting to reschedule another app (after I took days off work previously for the confirmed app with a tech) but how can you trust someone who fail to show up for 3 app in a row?! I have spent hours with them over the phone, their service recovery is non existent! Very disrespectful, pathetic it’s the word to describe my 4 days experience with Comcast! You cannot treat customers like this, therefore I have cancelled the service, service which was non existent! Never again!

Came here to return a Modem of theirs since I bought my own instead of paying 10 dollars a month for theirs. It wasn’t that crowded, only 6 people in front of me, but as others said, long wait, about a half hour. there are 8 available lanes but only 3 were being serviced that day, other employee’s milling around and doing I don’t know what when the could be helping customers. I looked around and saw the anger others were having at having to wait, exactly like the DMV except I think you get better service there. When I had my turn I asked a simple question about my account, the rep was nice but had no idea what she was doing, even though there was a screen in front of her with all my info, was sorry I asked as she had to go find a supervisor to confirm a question. I would not go back to this location for several reasons, the wait, the unknowledgeable and helpless staff, and good luck parking in the small lot, the only other option is to pay a parking meter for the rip off city of Chicago that doesn’t know how to manage its money and gouge any person doing business within its limits. To anyone who said they had a good experience, who’s paying you to write your review? Pathetic.

this whole company is a ripoff. I called about the $ 19.99 introductory offer. They said no problem. But The bill is $ 29.99 because the lower speed is not available after I paid $ 50 for installation. BUT ITS NOT AVAILABLE ANYWHERE!!! This company needs to be closed down. They are scum.

Our new X1 boxes don’t work; I have been on the phone for 6 hours w/​no resolution & an endless loop of reps #FAIL
Now I have to go to this horrible Comcast Service Center to exchange a box, (defective equipment) for free and install it myself or wait to get a NEW box sent to me for $ 6.95, plus $ 50 installation. By the way, I have been to this office once before, it is like the DMV, you take a number and wait. Awful awful awful. I will probably get MORE defective equipment.

When we get here at 2pm it was pretty packed. Grabbed a number. 88. They were on 61, so sat there about 30 – 40 minutes. My boyfriend got a ticket while we were inside before we even got to talk to someone because he parked in the pay to park spot (which we didn’t realize until he went out to the car obviously with a ticket on his car after being in maybe 20 mins) (which is our fault I guess) Anyways, once we got called up finally, the man we spoke with was very nice, very very helpful (cashier CAH)? Very very helpful man. But the whole reason we went was to return a Dvr box to a normal box.
Here I am at home trying to set it up and no matter what I do, even talk to the Comcast lady over the phone for 45 minutes, this new box will not power on.
It looks like a used box, which I have no problem with since it being free… But the most important cord (Power cord) does not work. It has a big red sticker on it and when you shake it can hear all this rattling inside. I am assuming they gave me a broken power cord. Hopefully that is true and not a whole broken box also.
The lady on the phone said the only way to fix this is to go BACK to the Comcast store and figure it out with them.
Definitely not going back to the one on Milwaukee. All of the other workers there seemed rude I just so happened to get the very nice old man but unfortunately a broken box or cord or who knows.
So after spending my day on this I have no cable, no time to go to the other nearest store (north ave) and don’t really know what the problem even is. Very disappointed. Very disappointed in Comcast and the store on Milwaukee.

Great experience ! Minus the wait and people whining about the wait. You go in, grab a number and sit you butt down and wait. Be patient and polite … Expect to wait at least 30 to 45 mins.
I got in at 930am and waited about 45 mins. before being service. I got to the window and Patty was the one who helped me. Very polite and fast ! The only complaint I have are the rude people waiting and people whining about the wait.

I tend to be that guy who sucks up difficult situations, but dealing with this service center has nearly broken me. My anger is borderline unhealthy and I’ve been force to visit this hell on earth twice in one day. The first time, one lady was working! She was very good and friendly, but by herself. Five other staff were sitting around and not helping anyone. HINT: STAY IN THE BACK IF YOU’RE NOT HELPING… YOU GIVE FALSE HOPE. After an hour of waiting, they tell me they can’t determine the problem with my internet and I need to bring the gateway back. Thanks for absolutely wasting my time! Second time, gateway in hand, I’ve waited for another hour, two people working this time, actually slower. I’ve been a customer for fifteen years and put up with crappy service, and the only reason I don’t cancel today is I’ve invested all my emails to my Comcast address.

Horrid and very inconvenient location.
Careful if you have multiple cable boxes in your home.
On site personnel may swap out the wrong cable box serial #‘s in the system and then leave you with no cable on those good cable boxes at home.
Oh the torture of having to return to the same horrid Comcast location to deal with the same incompetent individuals multiple times is enough to severely rain on anyone’s day.
Careful that they don’t provide you with the wrong X1 software loaded cable box for use on your XF required software system.
A so called easy 5 minute cable box swap may turn into a 4 – 5 day without cable nightmare as you struggle to figure out what is wrong and then wait for a technician to visit and rectify the situation.
A wonderful situation to be on when you have company visiting for the holidays!
Bottom line: A company that needs significant overhauling in so many ways. Inept customer service from h#ll and Comcast call center assistance personnel are even worse in my opinion.

Manager told me he would give me a good deal if I stayed with Comcast. Told me I would get a $ 100 credit, due to my internet not working for 4 or 5 months, no installation fee. Didn’t once mention to me that I was going to be on a contract.
I called Comcast because they charged me an installation fee, and also an activation fee. (I spoke to an automated service and they still charged me $ 35.)That’s when I found out I was in a contract and so I took my boxes back after two weeks to the Comcast store. Then Comcast charged me a $ 75 cancellation fee. They refused to credit me back. I won’t go back to Comcast. Horrible service and their crooks. They sent me to collections for all the extra that they charged me. CROOKS!

Tiny parking lot, circled 3 times for parking. Got in, pulled number 68. They were on 47. There were 4 employees at 4 windows. One of them, Hispanic lady, wasn’t helping customers. She sat on the computer doing something else. The older guy (window 5) took as much time to help one lady as the girl next to him took to do 3. Maybe because he kept going over to the Hispanic lady’s window and reading her screen. The black girl was the most friendly (window 4), and most efficient lol! She was very nice to an old Polish lady who told her her life story lol. Anyway if there was a computer issue, window 7 Hispanic lady could have used another. There were several open desks. She appeared to be doing email. Anyway thank goodness for the girl in window 4 or it would have been hell with just these other ones. After about 35 minutes they are on 65! And the guy in window 5 literally did 2 customers!

Be warned, reader. Remember the ending scene of the movie Beetlejuice and you will know now what awaits you here. That scene was not intended just to entertain, but instead serves as another metaphor of great importance delivered by creation to wan (women and man). It is just as, if not more important than many of the metaphorical stories in the bible, the quran, or Walt Disney movies. Which, sadly, all bare a striking resemblance by their strong emphasis on the oppression of women :(

I just visited this Comcast center and regretfully its always packed. The last time I visited it went well but they really need to find a way to attend to their customers at a much much faster rate.

It’s 4 am. There has been a Comcast/​Infinity truck parked in the alley directly below my window for the last hour. The truck is super loud, hence my being awake. What the hell? I’m assuming you’re doing some sort of maintenance but why at such an ungodly hour? I tried calling the customer service number but guess what? You’re closed! Guessing you’re all at home sleeping! Good for you! #onestepclosertodumpingcable

Comcast is hell on earth. It’s Saturday and there are two people working in their center, at least seven additional empty windows un-​staffed. There are literally 50 people ahead of me in line. It’s worse than the DMV. Don’t ever use Comcast and don’t ever come here. This is seriously unbelievable.

Moved into a new house and decided to try Comcast again after a few years of not being a customer knowing they have been trying to improve customer service.
Tech never showed up, never called. I took the day off work to meet them and now no one can show up for 5 more days. I’m not confident they will show up then either.
Unfortunately this is *exactly* what I expect from Comcast. Once my 12 months are up I will once again be leaving them. They have not improved since I was last a customer.

Comcast Cable is a ripoff. I had it for a couple of years and got rid of it recently, after regular charges over &170.00 per month. That’s without buying anything extra. Their installation guys as I recall were very nice but not terribly bright. I just refuse to be ripped off any more.
If you are a Comcast customer and quitting as I did, make sure you take all your equipment back to them personally, get a receipt and take names of customer service agents you encounter. Don’t rely on shipping it or you risk them telling you it came back damaged and try to make you pay hundreds of dollars for it. Comcast stinks. Find a cheaper, higher quality alternative.

Looking at all these negative reviews, I was already frustrated that I had to go there to return my rental modem. When I walked in the line was long as everyone said. But to my surprise, the line moved pretty smoothly and my experience there was quite pleasant. Cynthia was the CSR who assisted me and she was very courteous and professional. She answered all my billing questions to my satisfaction. I feel like when it comes to service center, many people tend to leave more of negative experiences in reviews. Since I had a good experience here, I thought it would be fair for them to also be recognized for a good work. The only reason I gave ⁴⁄₅ star ratings is that this place was bit far from where I live.

Due to some unfortunate circumstances, I’ve had to move twice in 9 months. Both times Comcast made themselves the worst part. When I moved to Oak Park in late October, they first started winding down my services 3 or 4 days early rather than switching them on Monday as I have requested. I spent 2 hours and 45 minutes being transferred around every offshore call center they have. I’d ask for a manager and they would transfer me to another representative. I’ll ask for that person’s manager and their manager would not be there. It was absolutely ridiculous, and all I wanted to do was to make sure my internet will be on the next day when I needed to work.
In moving back to the city, my experience wasn’t much better. They told me all I needed to do was to take my equipment, plug it in, & call Comcast to activate. At that point everything should work. My cable did work, but my internet didn’t work at all. The first person I spoke to help me troubleshoot and then said the earliest they could get somebody out was Wednesday. It was really impossible for me to be available on a weeknight and i asked about Saturday. «I don’t want you to have to wait that long,» he said, and assured me they could have somebody out after 630 when I would be back from work. That night I get a call at 5 when the guy arrived at my place. I explained I was still an hour away and begged him to come back later. He said it was his last call and he was going to go home. I wanted to book for Saturday in the first place thinking that a weekday would be impossible. Now when I called and got transferred to 8,000 people, everybody told me saturday was now booked and impossible to schedule. I was told I’d have to wait till the following Saturday at best.
I called and asked for retention and the guy said he’d like to try to help first. He then said they’d found a Saturday opening but hadn’t been able to reach me to confirm and gave it away. I said I hadn’t received any calls, then come to find they still had my old phone number – which I had decommissioned nine months earlier. I’ve repeatedly given my cell phone number to ask that it be the only number on file. But still, here we are, with them dialing a Comcast phone number they themselves should know is out of commission. I called multiple times and spoke to multiple people during this period.
I asked for manager and got a supervisor who quoted me a script again and again. I asked for his manager and he said his manager was not there. I asked him to have his manager called me and he said «We are an inbound call center. We can’t make outbound calls.» I said «You’re telling me that you are supervisor and that your own supervisor, 2 managers, do not have the authority or autonomy to make a call to a client?» Again and again he quoted a call script to me. During the subsequent 8 days internet free, I used nearly my whole data plan. I spent countless hours on the phone trying to have somebody help me.
Someone did come out that Sunday to fix it, but only after I emailed an escalation line and found the number to the corporate office. When I worked with the retention team last November, the person I worked with, Charmaine, was amazingly helpful and very sympathetic to my situation. This time the retention person transferred me to an offshore tech support person to run through all the tests I had done before. She said let me check with someone, put me on hold, and then just cold transferred me to this poor guy. The people I worked with at the corporate office were very helpful and that’s clearly the only way to get anything done there.
I threatened to leave for AT&T they didn’t resolve my issue quickly. And believe me I tried. AT&T doesn’t offer internet in this area. Comcast clearly knows and the only game in town and therefore they don’t have to do anything to meet client expectations.

A regional monopoly charging monopoly prices for a utility. For internet access I pay more than heating or electricity per year.
And although a few of Comcast’s humans have been authentic, I most frequently am faced with inept drones who seem to not understand very simple customer needs.
God help you if you need to have them correct mistakes they made, it is better to take the loss (or theft) than waste your time seeking resolution.
