I wish I could give ZERO stars. This place is a rip off. The only good news is that I think they are out of business. I’m amazed they lasted this long.

This outfit seemed alright at first. Unfortunately, after they got paid and it came time to stand behind their work, they got really shady. Sadly, this is NOT a business I’d recommend.
After spending $ 500 on repairing a $ 450 printer with them, the owner quickly became defensive when I called about a problem after I got it home. Instead of trying to help me diagnose what was actually a simple fix (adjusting the paper guides), he flat out refused to help me any further with the issue and told me to call the manufacturer. So much for customer service.
In addition, they refused to show me a copy of their purchase invoice for the $ 200+ replacement part they claimed to purchase for my machine. In my case, I had to wonder whether this meant they had jacked the price way up and didn’t want me to know — or if they even ordered and installed a new part at all. Since they refused to show me the invoice, I can only speculate what the truth was.
It’s just unbelievable to me that the owner of CompuAction refused to spend 5 minutes troubleshooting with me. The first thing he did was get argumentative and defensive. In the end, a LOT of stress could have been avoided if he’d showed some integrity and courtesy. They might have retained my respect and repeat business as well.
The bottom line is that my experience with CompuAction was not good. I’m fortunate, however, since my issue was easily fixed after a phone call to the manufacturer’s tech support line. If that hadn’t been the case, I’d be at a serious loss.
I’d recommend that anyone think twice before dealing with Compu-​Action. Good service providers care about their customers, and they are willing to provide follow up. These people seem shady, and know NOTHING about customer service in my opinion.
UPDATE: After reading the other reviews, it would not surprise me if this outfit is doing bait and switch and other underhanded things when it comes to parts. My printer (a color laser) was damaged when I slammed the access door. I’m guessing it threw something simple out of alignment. They ended up telling me I needed to replace some major piece. Now I doubt that was true. When I read someone describing the owner as a «snake,» something actually clicked in my head. That is pretty much the vibe I got. I actually wondered how this guy could get away with running his business the way he was, and how this tiny man hadn’t provoked someone into coming down there and beating his behind. He’s THAT much of a jerk. I was just amazed at how brazen he was, and what an obviously crooked guy he seemed to be. I’ve heard that’s common in some foreign countries. It’s just odd so see it here, and to see him getting away with it. Sad actually.

Without going into the details, I’d stay away from these guys.
I paid $ 400 to get a printer fixed that is probably worth $ 200 on Ebay. I’m kind of the mind set that I’d like to put my money back into the local economy and not have another printer put into a landfill.
I’m kicking myself for being so stupid. What really got me was when I went to pick the printer up I asked to see the replacement parts. (he replaced 2 boards) He hesitated and said he had to recycle them. I told him I could recycle them, they’re mine after all. He said they sent them to Epson already. Based on what a pigsty the place is I find that really hard to believe.
