Craig W Millard, DDS

Dr. Millard has been my dentist since I was only a few years old. His bedside manner is polite, concerned, and always focused on preventative dentistry. I have had many problems with my teeth throughout my life, but Dr. Millard whether as a young child or an adult has always kept me calm and given me the best care I can imagine.
At times, his office can be a bit pushy to schedule an appointment, but I think that has as much to do with preventative care as anything. Because when in the office they are never anything but kind and polite.
I would recommend Dr. Millard to anyone.

I’ve been going to Dr. Millard since 2002, upon the recommendation of a co-​worker. I switched companies and discovered that a few of my new colleagues went to him as well. He has always done a good job and gets me in and out quickly, as I love his proximity to my office. (and he is never behind schedule) My wife now uses him as well and is happy with his service. I think people need to remember a Dentist runs a business and yes, Dr. Millard will suggest services, but there is never any pressure to buy them. Overall, I would recommend him and his staff.

I like Dr. Millard — a lot. Quality work, great guy, great bedside manners. Also, the technicians in his office are really nice.
That said: expensive and they do try to sell you on things that you may or may not need. But if you say no, they don’t push, so it doesn’t bother me too much.
My only real gripe is that when they called to schedule me for a checkup (I hadn’t been in almost a year because I had cancelled my previous appointment and never re-​scheduled) and I told them that I was concerned about payment due to my unemployment, they just said «oh, sorry, bye» instead of offering to work with me on a payment plan. So until I am employed, I guess I’ll need a new dentist…

Dr. Millard is the type of dentist who will do extra (unnecessary) work on your teeth and convince you to get cosmetic dentisty just so he can make more money. I don’t trust him and would not recommend seeing him.
Dr. Millard told me that I need veneers as if it was the same as getting a filling or a root canal. He never explained the reason, the price, or went over any other options with me. He was not concerned with the root of the problem or with prevention. His office continued to call me and ask when I was going to come in to get the veneers even though I had never said that I wanted them. My previous dentist had never said there was anything wrong with the way my teeth look. In fact, I get compliments from people on my teeth all the time.
I chalked this up to him being a dentist in the loop and thought nothing of it when he told me that I had a cavity, even though I have never had a cavity before in my life and have never had another since then. Again, he never discussed the different types of fillings with me before giving me the most expensive visually-​pleasing filling available, even though the tooth is in the very back of my mouth. He then convinced me to get sealants on the rest of my back teeth. Since then, other dentists have told me that these were unnecessary because the thick enamel on those teeth already made it impossible for me to ever get cavities there.
He also failed to mention to me to me that he was out of network on my insurance until after I got a huge bill. I immediately called and canceled all my upcoming appointments. I wish that I had never gone to him to begin with, but I’m glad that I at least stopped seeing him when I did.
