It is nice to have one place that you can go to and every service is amazing along with being extremely convenient. Jessica is the total best. My hair has never felt better. Its hard to find a stylist that knows your exact style without being your«friend’ she is attentive to what you want and basically gets the job done without the drama. Great girl! Must see! So much easier when you look good.

I called Daniela’s yesterday, on New Year’s Eve, certain that I wouldn’t be able to get an appointment. It was my first time receiving any services at this salon, but I was desperate for a haircut. The receptionist booked me for a cut within a half hour of my call. When I arrived, I expected to have some sort of rushed greeting, because, let’s be honest, I would be pushing clients out the door on New Year’s Eve. My hair cut with Sophia began around 4:30 and lasted until shortly before 6pm. The amount of time she spent perfecting my hair, asking for my input and explaining the process was amazing. The haircut was exactly what I wanted and I left feeling completely satisfied and very happy that someone would spend so much time cutting my shoulder-length hair into a bob. I’m a bit skeptical about mani/pedi services at a salon, because I often find them over priced, but the quality of hair care was so good, I might branch out to other services. Also, I’m not sure if it was because I was a first time client, or because my hair cut length didn’t vary greatly, but the cut was only $ 60 which I find extremely reasonable for the amount of time and care spent.

I love Daniela’s! The place is clean and well decorated. I went here because my husband recommended that i try it out, I’ve been looking for a decent salon in the south loop for the past few months. I had a highlight service and haircut with Jessica. She is fantastic! She asked lots of questions to make sure I got exactly what I wanted. And I did! Another bonus is the price. For such talented service in a great salon, I was expecting to pay much more. Definitely a bargain! Try it out, you won’t regret it!

Went here for a hair cut after I tried to cut my own hair and screwed up the layers. They scheduled me in same-day during the lunch hour, and I got a pretty good cut… a little shorter than I had wanted, but Corinne, my stylist, helped me see that it was really necessary to cut off so much so it would grow out well. I don’t know that I would pay that much for a hair cut regularly(it was $ 60, but the first-time customer discount brought it down to $ 48). But to fix a bad cut, it was worth it.

Ladies, I’m surprised no one has Unilocaled about why I come to Daniella’s!!! Believe it or not, Daniella’s has a THREADIST, yes you head me correctly a THREADIST! Her name is Piret, and she’s an aweseome threadist with a soft touch. She’s friendly, listens to what you want, attentive and best of all she throws in a mini eyebrow massage whenever she’s done threading my brows. I am a bit of a threading snob, and I think her work is great!

Went in for a bang trim. Got helped immediately and the girl who trimmed by bangs was friendly and did a good job, but when it came time for me to pay the receptionist was gone and her and another girl weren’t sure how much a bang trim was. 10? 15? they kept saying to eachother. and decided it was 15. 15 bucks for a bang trim? No thanks. I only had a 20 and then the one said to the other they couldn’t get the register open without the receptionist either. So I walked out paying 20 dollars for a 2 minute bang trim, that at my normal salon that was too far at the time would have charged 5. This was a rip off…

I’ve received nice manicures and pedicures here. I have also gone for botox here twice. It works! I also recently got my eyebrows threaded. They look freaking awesome. I am so glad that I found out they do threading.

I really enjoyed my first experience here. It wasnt the usual spa/facial experience though but still quite pleasant. I received the microdermabrasion. It was my first time ever having this procedure done and the esthetician(who I found out at the end of my procedure was the owner Daniela) reviewed my skin, gave me the okay, and then showed me the wand she would use and how things would go. She was very gentle and nice. I mentioned spafinder at the time of booking which got me $ 10 off(a promo at the time). What threw me a bit was the music. They didnt really have any spa music. It was more top 20/pop/hip hop music. Overall, everything was clean and sterile and I enjoyed my visit.

I just recently moved back from London where I was used to going to a Japanese hair salon where stylists perform to a very high standard. I was pleasantly surprised to find Daniela’s in my neighborhood. I met with Jessica who has a wonderful personality, listened to what I wanted, and seemed very knowledgeable. I explained to her I wanted color, permanent with highlights. All was great up until then. The application process began and although she applied her foils consistently, the entire color process was done in a very sloppy manner. Foils were scrunched a bit, color applcation was applied too heavily so that it got on my face at which time Jessica rubbed it off with a towel but not in any way gently. Basically she rubbed my cheek, hairline, ears, back of neck. I had to ask her to use a cotton strand around my face to keep the color from dripping. Once the color was done, we went to the washbasin. The water temp varied from tepid, to cold, to hot, to tepid. The towel around my neck was not secured. Water/dye could have run down my neck if I had not held on to the towel tightly. The color came out nicely. She did what I asked for and she blew-dry my hair the way I like it done. However, if Daniela’s wants to compete with other salons and stand out, they need to make sure the service provided to clients meets a higher standard.

Stumbled upon this place looking for a mani & pedi figured I’d give it a try… wish I kept on walking. My nail technician was definitely pleasant but gave me the worst mani/pedi for the outrageous price I was charged. For both combined I paid over $ 70 not including tip… now if I actually received a spa mani/pedi which I later found out that’s what I was charged for then I most likely wouldn’t be writing this. I received what I would get at every other typical nail place in Chicago paying $ 40 to $ 45 for their services. My tech asked me if I was ticklish which I replied no since I’ve never had that problem in the past until her. I repeatedly told her to give at least a little more pressure so I’d stop squirming, but she didn’t. The leg massage was totally useless & unenjoyable, I was counting the minutes that she would be done… needless to say my mani was more of the same. I’ve had spa mani/pedi’s before and most lasted at least an hour and a half to two hours, this one lasted an hour tops w/no extra services. Make sure you state what type of service you want and if you do choose the spa service find out what that entails!!!

I went back and had a facial here too…$ 70 for a basic facial that lasted roughly an hour. My skin glowed afterward and the products that Daniela herself used were all great. You won’t be getting your arms or legs rubbed with lotion while your mask sets and the music is the same easy-listening that’s played throughout the salon, but for the money the facial was well-worth the results I’ve seen the past could of days.

I was a fan of Daniela for several months and actually thought she was doing a good job w/my skin until the past few weeks ago I went for a custom facial and ended up getting a chemical peel, when she placed it on me it burned pretty bad that i had to actually tell her to take it off. She said the redness on my face was natural and would eventually go away, which it did — until a week later i broke out w/bumps all over my skin and dryness. I had to go to a dermatologist which told me that the cause of my skin was from a peel gone wrong and that is why i had itchy dry skin w/red bumps all over. It’s been a month and my skin doesn’t look the same. I called her to let her know what had happen and she claimed that she didn’t place any harsh peel on me but an enzyme peel. I’ve had to put topical hypercorteson on my skin b/c of this ordeal. I have to say i am still very upset and unhappy w/my skin and would suggest not to go for the facial/peels at this place. After hearing some horror stories from a few patrons and people that went to her for facials and chemical peels — all I can say I’m not the only one this has happen to before, had i known this before, i would of saved myself the trip to this spa.

After living in the Printer’s Row area for quite some time I finally decided to try out Daniela’s. I wasn’t disappointed. I made a same day appointment for a manicure/pedicure and the receptionist was very friendly and got me scheduled for less than 1 hour after I called. I liked the open airy feeling of the place and still the pedicure chairs/soaking stations are in the back in a secluded area closed off with sliding french doors. It was nice to be back away from the hustle and bustle of the hair dresser’s stations, reception area etc. My nail tech, Marta, was very friendly and did a great job. The prices are VERY reasonable… manicure $ 21 and pedicure $ 39…not bad for a salon/spa downtown in the loop! Thing to know: you have to give your tips in cash… just FYI in case you normally have them charge more on your debit card. Parking can be a problem in this area because it’s in the heart of the city but there are multiple parking lots close to the salon. Overall I will go back to Daniela’s again and you should try it out!

At last… I actually created a Unilocal account, specifically for the purpose of letting others know about how terrible my experience at Daniela’s was. Last year, as a bridal shower gift, I bought a friend of mine a facial at Daniela’s. She got the facial a little more than a week before the wedding. When she got home, her neck was completely raw and was hurting like crazy. She ended up going to the Doctors and got steriod injections so that her face would be presentable for her wedding. We called Daniela’s and left a message with the Owner, telling her what had happened. The only response that we got from Daniela’s was an irate message from the owner, essentially putting on blame on my friend and offering no consolation or even an opportunity to discuss. I live in the South loop and even though this is the most convenient spa, in terms of location, I refuse to patronize it ever again.
