Moved to the area recently. Called a few times and it was a 2 hour wait. This time the wait was an hour and a half so we said screw it, and ordered. When it came it was humongous. Huge pepperoni slices! Sadly, I was underwhelmed. Nothing about this pizza would make me want to order it again. It was entirely bland and I could barely finish the piece. Some people compare it to Piece Pizza but I cannot even see(besides how it’s cut) how they’d be on the same level. My fiancé liked it but he’d like prison food if you gave it to him. I’m not sure we’ll order from here again.

Chicago Magazine pizza list… Good pizza. They’re huge! NY style, and pretty floppy, but I didn’t mind. BYOB, and there’s a liquor store next door in case you forget :).

I just ordered from here and the pizza is good. 4/5, Similar to piece but not quiet, I do feel like I got ripped off with the toppings. I feel like they hardly put any mushrooms or jalapeños so it tasted Just like Plain O pepperoni pizza. Mehhhh. Piece always puts a generous amount of toppings so perhaps if they add a more generous amount it’ll give the pizza more flavor & be on the same level as piece. Customer Service 2/5, I ordered from grub hub and it said that they were temporarily out of pepperoni, so I called before ordering and the guy who picked up was just so BLAHHH… Not a «hello how can I help you» just a straight forward«dantes pizza» & followed by me actually greeting him. Isn’t it suppose to be backwards? Anywho, I mentioned I was going to order from grubhub & that I just wanted to confirm that they did have pepperoni, but before finishing my question he was like«yeah I know, idk why it’s saying that» so I assumed they did, I said thank you and he just clicked. Smh… FIRSTIMPRESSIONSAREEVERYTHING!!! Dantes reconsider your desk guy. Delivery Driver 5⁄5 he called me before stepping out his car as there is a winter storm & obviously the pizza was gunna get cold! Poor guy, I felt bad for ordering in this weather and having him drive… He handed me the pizza & walked away not expecting a tip, but OFCOURSE I stopped him him and handed him the cash. Overall, 3⁄5. Piece is still my favorite! I Will have to try roots Next!

A nice pizza by the slice spot in Logan Square. We started off with an antipasto salad that had a nice amount of pepperoni in it and was a nice portion for sharing prior to a large slice of pizza. My slice was nicely heated up. The house hit sauce was a nice pairing with my sausage pizza. It was a little on the light side with regards to pizza sauce. If I get around to ordering a pizza, I will certainly go with extra sauce.

I was truly astounded at the horrible service at Dante’s. If I could give it negative stars I would, because that’s what it deserves. There are great restaurants within a 5 minute walk– it’s worth the effort to avoid this establishment. The food is way overpriced and it made me sick. I wish I could say there was something good about Dante’s. You’ve been warned.

Dante’s has an excellent feel. The pizza has a great taste. It’s honestly my favorite spot, but as a literary nerd it tickles me to have Dante’s Inferno referenced all over. Even if it was called«Tony’s Pizza», if it tasted the same, then it be five stars. This place wraps up their quality product in a pretty fun, and to me completely unique bow for a pizza shop. I’ve only gone in for by the slice. Now knowing they deliver to me, I have found the perfect Saturday night at home treat for myself.

Order way before you are hungry. 2 hours is not abnormal. This is a good NY pie and the size guarantees you will have leftovers for days, but whyyyy does it take so long? I’ve probably ordered from them 10 times or so in the past year. I do crave their big, floppy slices and they have delivered a yum pizza 9⁄10 times.(Once it was super doughy– fluke?). When I can get a deep dish delivered from Lincoln Park to Avondale in less time that it takes for Dantes thin delivery in my area, that’s a problem. Might need to hire more delivery people to cut down on that oppressive wait.

One of the best NY style pizza places in the area. This place is a typical hipster hole-in-the-wall so don’t expect a fine dining restaurant experience. But like most successful hole-in-the-walls the food is great. If you are ever in the area, Dante’s Pizzeria is worth a try. Note: Only street parking

Great tasting pizza by the slice here. It’s a pretty simply BYOB place with pretty friendly staff. I’d eat there again. The place was really easy to find. I was just traveling through Chicago for 24 hours.

Order with credit card. Do Not Pay Cash! I just payed $ 40.00 for a $ 20.80 pizza because the delivery driver had no change. Seems shady.

Tasty creative pizza creations. Although I’m normally a deep dish guy, they have great pizza and I would absolutely recommend trying it. Ordering online is a snap and dropped a few bucks off the price.

Not bad but not great either. I live in the area and heard such great things about this place. Stopped in recently for a slice and was very underwhelmed. The pizza is fine, but just that. I wanted to love it because the location is great for me, but just didn’t. The slices are ginormous but just average. We also each got a cookie for desert. Got home and were stoked about are cookies only to find they were both terribly burnt on the bottom. Boy oh boy if that wasn’t the nail in the coffin. Worst part was they were different kinds of cookies. Also, the staff is kinda mah. They don’t really seem to give a shit. I’m not gonna write them off until I give them at least one more try. Everybody has an off night from time to time.

This is the best thin crust pizza I’ve had in Chicago. I’ve been here for 8 years, and haven’t had anything comparable. The crust is perfect. Delivery is always on time or faster than estimated.

Dantes, my love!!! Coming from New York, this place is a staple. I don’t really see the appeal in the casserole type«pizza» w/e it’s called. Dantes does it right and I’m sayin all I need is a slice of pep and I am living the good life. 20 inch pies. Now, living in Pilsen I am out of the delivery zone… sadness ensues. Totally worth the occasional drive to Armitage for this delicious za tho. 20 inch pies. That being said, I’m not a big fan of the wings but thats not my reason for coming here so no big deal! 20 inch pies. za za za dang I want dantes my oh my 20 inch pies

Two things make Dante’s a superior slice shop: 1. The quality of the slice. This is really top-notch pizza. My only complaint is that the rim of the crust gets too crispy during the reheating, but otherwise the crust is perfect along with the rest of the piece. 2. The value of the slice. These things are BIG. And at only four bucks each with one topping, a single slice makes a satisfying and frugal lunch. Or splurge for two slices for your main meal of the day. I ate two at 1pm and wasn’t really hungry for dinner. Any size group can eat here for pequeño dinero. Three slices with four total toppings + two sodas + tax = $ 16.90. I am a fan of cheap, delicious eats. It also looks just like a slice shop, and they put oregano on the tables, unlike most places which seem to think that the only possible pizza condiments are parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes(no thank you x 2).

GIANT pizzas built on perfect, foldable and chewy crust. Covered with quality toppings and cheeses, one pizza will last more than a day with leftovers. If one could live off just pizza, Dante’s would certainly be a daily go-to for me. Atmosphere is a little drab, but who cares? Pizza.

I love NY style pizza and am always on the look out for a great spot in Chicago. Stopped into Dante’s with a friend and ordered a slice of Pepperoni. By the slide your options are Cheese, Pepperoni, Sausage or their pizza of the day. Otherwise, their specialty pies only come in size XL. The pizza was good. The crust was authentic and the toppings were tasty. It was quite greasy but I did order the Pepperoni so that was kind of on me. The slices are enormous and I actually found it very difficult to eat it gracefully. My friend had no qualms about eating it without grace and she had way fewer issues with her slice than I did. Not the most inviting restaurants though. Kind of cold, old, and unwelcoming in a way. Also they had a documentary on ants playing the whole time, which just seemed weird. I liked the pizza but can only give this place 3-stars. For some reason, I just know I wouldn’t go back. If I were in the neighborhood, maybe I’d get a slice to go, but I don’t know. It was good but not that good, if that makes sense.
