Dr. Philip D.

Business Owner

Dr. Philip Debossu is a graduate of Northwestern University and has built an outstanding practice since 1990 in the community of Logan Square.

Dr. Debossu is dedicated to the vision of dental medicine and the relationships he forms with his patients through information and education.

Dr. Debossu has a unique skill, background and knowledge. He has completed numerous continuing education courses with a recent focus on the surgical and restorative care of dental implants. He holds professional memberships with the International Team on Implantology and the Academy of general Dentistry.

Outside of dentistry, Dr. Debossu enjoys vintage guitars, music and spending time with his family in France.

I had an EMERGENCY the other day. I’ve never felt pain like that in my mouth, before. Sonrisa Dental is down the street from my building and I decided to give it a try. I had an appointment the next day with someone else but I didn’t want to go through another night like that, again (pain).
I talked to the hygienist who was at the front door and she told me she would try her best, to «get me in.» She was very nice but then Dr Debossu saw me me and he said, «You’re in some pain, aren’t you.»
He took me in, examined me and educated me. To cut to the chase…4 hours later I felt A LOT better. I was UNBELIEVABLY impressed with Sonrisa Dental.
The highest compliment I can give Dr Debossu is: I have a small business, myself and it’s successful. I care about my customers, not to mention my business. Dr Debossu talked to me almost exactly the same way… that I talked to my customers. My opinion: in order to be good at something, you have to be passionate and Dr Debossu is passionate.
Never did I think I would be that impressed with ANY business. .that I randomly patronize.

I have recommended them to several of my friends and my family have been going to them for several years. The doctor is really caring, super clean, and very detailed in his work. When I have gone to other dentists, they have never been able to anathesize me, yet he is patient and makes sure he gets it without stabbing me a bunch of times.
I am always amazed of how little pain I feel during or afterwards. He took two wisdom teeth out, cut into my jaw to remove the root, and I never had any swelling or had to even take the extra-strength Tylenol he prescribed.
Also, one time I felt a lump inside my tongue. I called to ask and he had me come in immedietly to look at it at no charge.
Most of all, he knows how broke I am as a college student so when we were going over my cavities he lets me know what needs to be done right away, what can wait, what is aesthetic, and he only does x-rays that are absolutely necessary. He’s got a pretty nice set-up too, there’s a camera where they can show you how jacked up your teeth are in the back of your mouth are in real time!
Overall, the whole staff is very nice, the new place is modern and kept spotless, and they explain to you how your overall health impacts your teeth and help you deal with that. I really think this place deserves the full five stars.
