Writing this while I sit here and wait extensively for the waitress… The food and setup is pretty solid here. However, I’ve been here three times now and the wait staff has been not only slow, but rather rude, each time I’ve been here.

People get SUPER excited over bottomless mimosas, and I’ve never understood it. You do realize that those pre-mixed pitchers are probably 90% OJ, and you’ll have to drink about 10 of them(and hence about a zillion grams of sugar) to even get a decent buzz? But I shouldn’t judge. Some people like their bottomless stuff, and Deleece offers you that. So while I can’t comment on that«perk,» the food is worthy of 4-stars. Standard selection of brunch eats, with some delicious french toast concoctions being the stand out(says the girl that railed against sugar earlier in this post. I pick my battles). Bloody Mary was a disappoint, but you can’t win them all. Metered street parking in the area isn’t too bad around brunch time, though may be dicey if it’s a Cubs game day(people go to those games still?)

Closed :-( Many a classic Unilocaler get together here was help where many many mimosas were consumed. I had a number of great bunches here, and regret not getting here more often before it closed. You’ll be missed

I had heard of Deleece’s brunch but didn’t really have any expectations. It turned out to be a pleasant experience! Went on a Friday around 8, it was maybe half full, kind surprised there weren’t more people. Our waitress was really friendly and helpful. We started with the mac n cheese flight(thats right, FLIGHT of noodles). There was brisket(pretty smoky), chorizo(not spicy at all but flavorful), and bacon(bacon-y). The noodles are the cavatappi kind(swirly) and the cheese sauce is white and just the right amount of thickness. I’d recommend the mac n cheese appetizer to try if you aren’t into eating a pound of noodles as your entrée. We were waiting for our entrees(actually not that long) and our waitress came over to apologize that our dishes were taking longer than normal. She brought a tasty warm spinach salad with butternut squash and balsamic vinegarette as a condolence from the chef, it was a nice touch! I ordered the grilled half chicken with risotto cakes and bacon collard greens. The chicken was cooked great with a crispy skin and a light garlicy sauce. The risotto cakes were fried and just ok, not super flavorful. The bacon kale was smoky and cooked well. Overall a pretty good dish. Also got a side of mashed potatoes, which I wish came with gravy(fatty). I also tried some of my companion’s BLT and fries, both were standard and tasty. All in all a great place for American comfort food, with a slight gourmet twist. I’d come back again if I were in the area with friends!

I’ve been to the other Deleece location for lunch, but decided to check out this location for Brunch with friends one Saturday. It’s an easy walk from the Belmont Red Line station. The restaurant wasn’t too crowded when I arrived around 11a. Our server was nice and gave us a lot of time to eye the menu. We primarily came here for the $ 15 mimosa brunch(plus meal), but I typically like Kir Royales and asked if I could have that instead. She thought I asked if they do carry out. Haha. Anyway, she was able to have the bar make it for me so I was happy. As for the food, two of us had the day’s special meat frittata, which I had with salad instead of heavy carbs. This was just the right amount of food, and I was able to eat it all — delightfully and deliciously so. We ended up staying a little bit longer just to gab, but our server came around and topped us off a few times. Definitely great service here!

The first time I went here I was blown away. GOUDAMACANDCHEESE is a real thing and you have not lived until you have had it. I also had the mixed green salad, which was the perfect size. I was sharing the 3-sampler so it was the perfect balance for the heaviness of the cheese/pasta. We started with the Cheese Curds with homemade ranch dipping sauce(which I don’t see on this menu) and they were absolutely delicious. The ranch is to die for. The second time, I had a grilled cheese(swiss on sourdough) and was totally disappointed. It was extremely salty, almost to the point of not being able to eat it. Thankfully I had a generous side of Heaven Sent Gouda Mac & Cheese, so I didn’t leave totally bummed. The Good: almost always have specials. We’ve used ScoutMob both times we went and saved a lil bit of money. also, FREECHIPSTHATAREDELICIOUS. The outdoor patio was really nice, too. The Bad: very, very few vegetarian-friendly options. No entrees besides the grilled cheese sandwich or a salad without the meat, which was extremely frustrating because everything else on the menu sounded so thought-out and well prepared.

I love things in bowls. Cereal, noodles, chips, dessert. You name it, if it’s in a bowl, I’m more likely to enjoy it(I mean food, you hippies, so stop reading into that). So, when a group of friends and I went to Deleece for brunch, and they delivered a bowl full Breakfast Mac(«white cheddar mac & cheese with bacon & tomatoes, topped with 2 sunny eggs»), I was sold. And I haven’t even mentioned the bottomless mimosas. All that said, I feel I can only recommend Deleece for brunch. Although I didn’t have a bad experience at dinner(my meal was OK, but nothing to write home about), my wife had a truly awful salad there(pretty sure it was bad seafood), so I am hesitant to go back for dinner.

I would have really liked to have eaten at the Deleece most of the other reviewers have been to– that would have been better than my experience this morning. «Meh» really sums up my experience. I met up with a friend and got there right as they opened at 10:30. It’s beautiful outside today so we asked to sit out in the patio in the shade. This was a mistake. Props to Alberto who also noticed the trash. It took me a few minutes to realize that the patio is actually surrounded my trash/recycling bins hidden behind the high fences. The flies were in full effect because of the trash as well. If the breeze was blowing the right way it wasn’t noticeable. Saturday is apparently trash day too so we got to hear the dumpsters hauled up to the trash trucks. Won’t make that mistake twice. We ordered hot tea and beignets to start. The beignets were nice, 3 to an order and are among the better ones I’ve had. However, I held on to the small plate given with the appetizer as our tea mugs weren’t served with saucers. So we had no place to discard the tea bags. Also, the tea wasn’t served with sugar or anything which I guess made sense as we weren’t given spoons either so we had to ask for both. Odd. I ordered the breakfast burrito and my friend got the demuffin. She said her food was good. My burrito was fine, but probably not one of the better breakfast burritos I’ve had at other brunch places. Mine also came with a side of hash browns. It was a very meager portion and very greasy. The food was fine, but nothing special. The service was fine and friendly. We got the bill and asked her to split in 2. I charged my half. It wasn’t until I left that I realized our waitress can’t do math as $ 33 divided by 2 is not $ 17.50. But it’s ok, I have no desire to go back so consider my extra dollar as a parting gift.

This is strictly a brunch review. I’ve come here last time for dinner and I thought it was fine(three– to four-stars range, nothing spectacular but nothing crazily bad). I came here on Mother’s Day and got one of the specials, a crispy potato pancake. Out it came and I have to admit, my hash browns at McDonald’s were probably better. These were slightly burnt around the edges, and it was so salty I couldn’t even finish it. The smoke salmon that came with it was much better, but not enough to redeem the«pancakes.» I also ordered a tea, and that came in a mug so small that I could have taken shots from it. As a result, I asked for another mug of tea within 15 minutes. Out it came… another mug of water. Umm, okay. Two stars. Not atrocious enough that the name of the restaurant by itself would make me shudder, but not enough to make me come back again for brunch.

Obviously people in the Midwest do NOT know a good brunch spot. I ordered a latte. It was watery and tasted like metal. I got it replaced with regular coffee that wasn’t good either. If I’m wishing I had a Starbucks at a restaurant, you have a problem. Ordered the chicken sandwich and asked to have avocado added. The chicken was salty. The avocado was a spread not fresh slices. Avocado spread is gross and should only be used at taco bell. For $ 12 you’d think you’d get the real thing. The side potatoes were alright. Nothing to write home about. Tasted like frozen oven fries to me. I also ordered the«home made sausage patties.» SOSALTY. I’m obviously spoiled by Kingsbury Café’s delicious homemade patties. I tasted my boyfriend’s bacon. How can you mess BACON up??? Well just ask Deleece. It was disgustingly smokey. Even my boyfriend who treats bacon as a condiment did not like it. They looked like bacon strips you’d see at a greasy diner. My boyfriend said his lobster Benedict was good. But I don’t believe him and couldn’t taste it due to my seafood allergy. And there you have it. One star. Please go try Kingsbury Café. It is amazing and everything Deleece isn’t.

Seriously, I was impressed. A quiet dinner place with good food?! Granted, it was a Tuesday night, but still — the place doesn’t seem big enough to even ever get that loud to begin with, and that has been my biggest pet peeve about Chicago restaurants since moving here. Went with the gal pals for the usual weekday dinner, and we all loved our meals — ahi tuna salad, BLT, meatloaf, and one other salad. Regardless of what that last one was, everyone LOVED their meals. The waitress was also really patient with us even though our party arrived at different times. I would give it a 5, but I want to try the brunch and dinner on a busier night, just to make sure :)

Eh. It’s funny because I love Deleece, so maybe I waled into Deleece Grill Pub with those expectations. Here’s a small fact: The olfactory sense is the strongest of our 5 senses. It overrides the others, and is why you can smell perfume on a passing stranger and have an emotional reaction that brings you back to, say, high school. It also affects your taste buds. With that in mind, here’s what I remember about Deleece Grill Pub: garbage. Yup. We sat outside on a lovely summer night and slowly came to the realization that just on the other side of the fence next to our table are the dumpsters. Gross. My food was ok. I got the lamb sandwich, and while it had potential the taste combination wasn’t quite there yet. My friends seemed to enjoy their meals, so maybe it’s all just me. Still, I might wait until cold weather to return. Unless I get a summer cold and can’t smell.

Holy awesomebrunchness. I’ve been a long-time fan of the Angelina $ 20 booze-n-brunch, but I’ve been aching to try something new, getting tired of the same ol’ thing. Finally hit up Deleece for their $ 15 bottomless mimosas for brunch, and I am SO glad I did! It’s a little pricier than Angelina, but the food is seriously sooooo good. Deleece has a ton of great brunch options, a large outdoor patio, clean & non-scary bathrooms, and really friendly service. Oh yeah, the pitchers of mimosa’s don’t hurt, either. I definitely want to try Deleece for dinner one of these days… I can’t wait to go back!

After night of failing to get into popular restaurants, such as yuxin and HB. 8:30p is creeping up on us and we still haven’t found a place to eat. Being the driver I didn’t want to continue driving around without a destination so I parked and here goes three girls(myself and 2 girlfriends) in heels and boots walking around until we find a place. First we saw Mia Francesca’s but of course just looking in you can see it was way too pack and right next door we saw a sign«Lobster Mac & Cheese» and were like why the heck not? Let’s just go in. For a Friday night it was pretty empty, but we definitely like the mellow atmosphere. Starter: Calamari — was ok, needs to be more crispy and the lemon wedge! WHERE is the lemon wedge? Entrees: Asiago mac & cheese topped with garlic bread crumbs — HOLYMOLEY this dish was huge and EXTREMELYDELICIOUS!!! Not overly creamy, but just enough cheesiness. HmmMmmm writing this is seriously making me drool and crave for some! However, the side of beer batter onion rings were way too oily, definitely going to get a different side next time!(All three of us love the mac & cheese!!!) Barbecue half chicken in house made chipotle brown sugar BBQ sauce with fries and mash potatoes — when I think of chipotle I was thinking of something with a kick to it, but it was more on the sweet brown sugar side, which I still liked. The fries were just like any where else, but I definitely love the mash potatoes with the chunks of potatoes in it! Buttermilk fried chicken with potato salad and cole slaw — the fried chicken had the perfect layer of crispiness and thickness to it. The chicken was still moist, ah perfection! Cole slaw seemed to be made without mayo = *thumbs UP* in my book! The potato salad was okay. I believe the owner even came up to our table and asked how we heard about Deleece and I’m not sure if he believed us when we said we just walked around and happened to find it without knowing if the food is good or not. But now if he reads this review he will! Can’t wait to come back for some mac & cheese!

I went back to Deleece Grill Pub for dinner, prompted by my burning need to try their fried chicken, and also fueled by my need to save $ 10 with my A La Card. The restaurant was pretty empty when my friend and I arrived so we pretty much got our choice of seats and grabbed a table close to the fireplace — always a welcome sight on a wintry evening. We both settled on the buttermilk fried chicken and macaroni and cheese as sides. They have a few different kinds, which all sounded great, so she picked one kind and I picked another and we’d each get to try the other one. I chose a mac and cheese with gouda and cremini mushrooms, and topped with breadcrumbs and drizzled with porcini oil, and Keri chose the mac and cheese with asiago, bacon and topped with garlic breadcrumbs. We also were able to add another side to our chicken and we both went for broke and got hand cut fries. We were pleasantly surprised that the food came out so fast as generally fried chicken takes a long time. Maybe that meant that it’s precooked and just heated up when it’s ordered, I don’t know, but it looked really good. Unfortunately, it looked better than it tasted. It was nice and crispy, but it was under seasoned and I kept having to add salt and pepper to jazz it up. The hand cut fries were okay; they would have fared better if they were skinnier. I had high hopes for the mac and cheese; with all that going on, how could it not be good? This too, was bland. There wasn’t a lot of cheese and I detected no porcini oil drizzle. I tasted Keri’s and other than the bacon, I thought hers was kind of boring too. I thought we could be tempted with dessert; at the very least I would have liked to have seen their offerings, but when our waiter came to clear our plates, he said«I’ll just bring the check.» Whoa buddy, slow down, maybe we’d like to have coffee or dessert, or I don’t know, stay and talk for a while? I did end up asking to see the dessert menu but we declined as nothing really caught our eye. Thankfully he didn’t rush us out as we did end up staying and talking a little longer. In the end, I forgot to use my $ 10 A La Card(and I could kick myself), but now it forces me to come back for brunch and the bottomless mimosas.

After hearing many great things about brunch at Deleece, one cold Sunday morning my friend Unity and I decided to head over and give them a try. The restaurant was cozy and we were sat right by the window in the sunshine. Our server was very nice and attentive, but not to the point of annoyance. We decided to get an appetizer to share and opted for the beignets. While very tasty, they, in my Southern girl opinion, didn’t exactly taste like beignets. For my meal, I ordered the breakfast mac and cheese but opted to have the egg on the side. It was delicious. It was cheesy and gooey and had huge slabs of bacon. In retrospect I should have had it as it was supposed to be served with the egg on top. It was a rather large serving and I had enough leftover to take home later for another meal. It tasted even better that night warmed up! Now, I’m a wee bit obsessed with mac and cheese with breakfast bits and pieces thrown in! They also have $ 10 bottomless mimosas on the weekends too! CHEERS!

Yet another lovely experience at Deleece. They’ve really earned that fifth star! No wait, friendly service, bottomless mimosas for $ 15 and really, really good food. Between us, we tried the 4-oz filet with eggs, the breakfast burrito, and two different takes on the eggs benedict(lobster and steak). They don’t skimp on the lobster, and it’s laced with truffle oil. Major score! I’ll be making this my regular brunch spot from now on. My only reason to go to Wrigleyville!

Came here on a spontaneous lunch date with a local friend who lives down the street from this grill/pub. We decided to give it a try after hearing on Unilocal of «good brunch» food :) Who can resist? Not me! Trusting my fellow Unilocalers, I ordered the famous Breakfast Mac($ 10) — without even reading the description. To my surprise, it was a HUGE bowl of mac and cheese with 2 sunny-side eggs on top. I was a bit shocked when it came out and just stared at it — the dish looked dauntingly HEAVY. The macaroni wasn’t covered in cheese, it was covered in GREASE… just GLISTENING!!! I was still willing to try it, since the Breastkfast Mac is OHSO popular — and hey. I was on vacation~ But after 3 bites — I muttered«I can’t eat this»… The macaroni didn’t taste like ANYTHING. I tried to salt and pepper it. but no use. I mean. it was just a big pile of greasy noodles with 2 eggs on top. no herbs, no spices, no meat, no flavor!!! Even the grease didn’t taste like anything! LOL. Ok — there were tiny bits of bacon in the mix. but the bacon to noodle ratio was nil to none. I totally lost my appetite and told my friend I was done. Being the gentleman that he is, my date sent the dish back — telling them straight up. «This just doesn’t taste good»… To my surprise, the waitress was completely apologetic, took the dish away, and told me to pick something else. I decided to be safe and ordered the Cobb Salad($ 8), which came with a ton of toppings: blue cheese, hard boiled egg, bacon, ham, chicken, tomato, cucumber, green onion, and carrots. This was absolutely delicious! LOL They were very generous w/the toppings, making the salad super flavorful :) nom nom. I polished this dish off! My date ordered the Grilled Chicken Sandwich($ 10). This came with generous slices of chicken, smoked mozzarella, roasted tomato, pesto mayonnaise, all wrapped in a toasted sourdough. the cheese came melted, kind of like a panini. I had a few bites — and it was DELICIOUS :) I don’t know if it was the pesto mayonnaise or the smoked mozzarella — but the sandwich had a nice kick to it, and the grilled sourdough bread shot this one to the top :) Overall — the service and atmosphere was good. The food was a little heavier than how I like. But that could just be MY taste buds. The guy sitting next to me ordered his Breakfast Mac and polished that thing OFF!!! Man, Chicagans can EAT! :) I LOVEIT!

Best Bloody Mary in town and let me tell you why – I don’t like my Bloody Mary too spicy, I think you should be able to add Tabasco sauce and pepper to taste. Deleece’s Bloody Mary was just perfect for me – I didn’t need to add a thing, so delicious I had two of them! Now on to the food… cake dogs(brunch special): sausage links rolled in fried pancake batter, served on a stick, dipped in syrup, fan-freakin-tastic! Cake dogs also came with toast and two eggs, great deal for the price. Next, breakfast mac and cheese with bacon and tomatoes, topped with 2 eggs – awesome! And to share, beignets with chocolate sauce – deeeeeeeelish! In case you don’t know what beignets are, they’re fried dough pastries sprinkled with sugar, kind of like French donuts. Service was good. They also have a nice patio area in back but it was too cold the day we went to sit outside. Can’t wait to come back and try the French toast. Deleece is my new great hole-in-the-wall place for an awesome brunch. And the best part – no wait on Sunday just after noon.

I know, it’s been said… but $ 15 bottomless mimosas, too legit. Too legit to quit, right-o. Cake Dogs were on the brunch menu this morning… as a special. Special they are… breakfast links rolled in pancake batter and fried? Holy moly, my breakfast needs are met. Served with syrup, buttered toast and 2 eggs. A love affair on so many levels. Great service. Great coffee. Great mimosas. No wait. Not even a minute! Cake Dogs. Clean bathrooms. Easy parking. Bottomless champagne + OJ. I spent the next 2 hours shopping off my breakfast buzz, and y’all will be delighted to know it’s actually the best way to shop. SO free and loose with the money. Yikes. All in all, still tops on my brunch list for the area… even, Chicago.
