Very rude people! I called to see about same day cleaning and was told by a man, no problem as long as I bring it by 1100. I arrived at 1015 to a very rude lady that stated that the man was wrong and he left. I went across the street to Maytag laundry, nice people.

I’m a loyal customer and I highly recommend this dry cleaners. I have been a customer for several years and even when I moved out of the edgewater neighborhood(before I moved back) I continued to patronize this cleaners. Their prices are competitive and the quality of the service is excellent. I trust them with expensive clothes and don’t think twice about it. They are friendly and prompt. They are great about getting rid of stains even on silk, and if it doesn’t come out the first time they’ll try it again, without a second charge, by then it comes out. I have not yet brought my leather to them, but when the time comes I will. I see customers have brought rugs and down to them also. If I move out of Chicago, I will probably cry when I leave them.

We recently moved to the neighborhood & based on the reviews at Unilocal decided to try this cleaner out. So we got 2 full suits, 1 shirt, 1 jacket dry cleaned so far & got 1 alteration job done. The owner is a gentleman like reviews from others suggested. They are cheap & we got almost all our stuff back the same day. Dry cleaning was fine like most others but we were not happy with the alteration job. Job was to sew lining from the shoulder area with the jacket fabric. He charged us $ 10 which was a lot for this small job. Lining was attached in a shabby way… it was not neat, lining fabric was all twisted while attaching making the lining fabric pulled up. We were not happy at all with the job & i wouldn’t recommend them for alterations!!!

Quick review. Went here at the start of fall to clean my work clothing. Cheap. They got the job done.

So this is kind of a double review for my roommate and me. I was the first to go there to have my work shirt altered. I must say that the older gentleman(I think he’s the boss) is much more personable than the other employees. He asked me how much I paid for the shirt and informed me that the alteration might cost more than that. He took down my number and said he’d call if was. It wasn’t! And my shirt was ready the next day right before work. I don’t work there anymore, but the shirt looks so nice that I still wear it out! My roommate had a different experience to say the least. She brought her dress and her boyfriend’s tux in there for dry cleaning before a NYE party. The woman said it would be ready after 5 the next day. My roommate asked, «What time do you close?» She said, «6PM.» Well the woman must’ve forgotten the store hours because they aren’t open at that time on Saturdays so my friend was without her dress on NYE!!! Needless to say, she was not pleased. We were all ready to come on here and write a horrid review. Then something amazing happened! So she went in on Monday all ready to tear into these people, but before she even staredt the older gentleman apologized profusely, promptly informed her it was free of charge, gave her discount vouchers and coupons for free cleaning, the whole shebang! He wasn’t there when his employee made that fateful mistake, but he was at the ready to accept the blame and«make things right.» Right off the bat he said that it was his fault. You can tell he really values his customers and takes pride in his business. To show that much care for even just a first time customer is pretty sweet. Let’s hope it stays that way!

This is the dry cleaner my husband and I use in our ‘hood. Nice people. We’ve been coming here for awhile and have never had any issues. It’s cheap, they do a decent job and if you need a fast turn around, they will work with you. It’s also super close to the train, making it easy to grab your dry cleaning while you’re headed home.

The cheapest dry cleaners I have ever been to. I took in 6 dress shirts and the total was seven dollars and change and I thought there had to be a mistake, maybe a discount for first time customers. So I went back the following week with another 6 shirts and the total was the same. Now with this cheap price I have had one of the shirts with a poorly pressed collar which I brought to their attention and was promptly fixed. My status with this dry cleaner is, so far so good. As long as the shirts keep coming out good and the price stays at this ridiculous low rate, I will keep coming back. I should also mention that I forgot my ticket at home and they were able to look me up on their computer and give me my dry cleaning saving me what would have been close to a mile round trip to get the ticket.

Unassuming little place… Ok, so they were a second choice … but I’ll pay more for personable people. First, I handed her my coat. She started looking for the label, I told her there’d be no label because I made the coat. Stroking the fabric, she asked«what kind of fabric is this?» I explained to her where I’d gotten it and that I’d gladly accept responsibility, and she agreed to clean my coat. Actually … it’s the most wonderful drapey décor fabric. It is warm, and hangs nicely as a swing coat… and the fabric’s cleaning instructions *are* dry clean — and since they don’t sell labels with fabric, you have to remember how to care for it. Or get labels to sew in yourself. I haven’t gotten labels yet. Though, to save my clients similar stress in the future, I may have to get some. She announced the price, which was more than the place up the street … But the coat needed cleaning; so, I decided since I was there — to pay the extra amount. I left 2 pairs of slacks, a suit and a sweater along with my coat. Still — my price for everything was ridiculously low. I’m used to paying much more — so it was a nice surprise. Everything will be ready on Monday. All I need do is hop off the train at Thorndale — it’s literally steps from the station! I’ll update my review once I get everything back.
