Went in for a 20 minute neck and shoulder. Was guided to the area in front of the restrooms and next to the laundry/​break room. Not a relaxing environment. People coming and going the entire time. Loud voices from those on break. Service was great. Environment was terrible. They should rethink the location of this service

I have been coming here randomly for about 4 months. Each time I’ve always received great service, but it was the service that I received tonight that made me write this review. I purchased the Groupon for the 3 30 minute massages. I always pay the additional $ 15 to upgrade to the 1hour massage. It’s worth every last cent. Tonight Jack was the kind man that took care of me. He was absolutely AMAZING!!! I felt like a brand new person at the end of the hour. If you are in need of a «calgon take me away» moment give this place a try.

I received a no-​chip manicure and pedicure on NYE, and while it felt extremely rushed, the mani/​pedi turned out decently.
Within 3 days, the no-​chip chipped and by day 5 I called to complain because 3 nails looked awful. I was happy to be told that I could come in and they would fix it for me.
When I arrived, «fixing» meant buffing down the chipped nails and reapplying more polish. It looked extremely thick and almost embarrassing.
I asked the technician how she thought it looked, and she replied «It looks OK.» I was offended she would leave it that way and asked her to continue buffing to make it a bit smoother. As you could imagine, it still did not look very good when she was finished.
So if you want an «OK» manicure, you’ve found your spot!

It’s quite difficult to decide how many stars I want to rate this business, because you really have to try your luck with different masseuses.
I purchased their $ 100 for three hour-​long massages, and I’ve tried three different masseuses. The first guy did not seem to know any pressure points at all, but he was very nice and tried to accommodate me the best he could. He asked me if the foot bath was at the right temperature and if he was going too rough from time to time.
My second guys knew a little bit more about pressure points, and the third time I had a female masseuse, Fiona. She’s your go-​to girl! She’s very precise in finding your pressure points, but she could be a little rough sometimes. Simply ask her to go lighter if you start to hurt.
I know this is not a place where you get five-​star treatments. Don’t expect that kind of service with the amount you pay. I’m so grateful that they keep the price reasonable while delivering good-​valued services.
I’ll recommend friends and family to this place.

Came in to get a no-​chip Mani and a regular pedi.
The overall outcome was great. Love the way my nails turned out. However, I feel as though that it was rushed. I was in and out under an hour. My leg rub/​massage was done within one 3 minute song (I listen to my iPod while getting my pedis) which I think is more than too short.
I also think they should turn on the heater. Its 20 degrees outside. My toes were freezing while getting my manicure. I am cold right now sitting in the waiting area for my bf who is getting massage and I am wearing my jacket!

Been here five or six times in the last couple years — my last trip there being a couple days ago (my girlfriend took me there for my birthday… she started going there a couple years ago because it’s close to her work — and found that she loved it so much that she goes back regularly). I think I’ve had a different masseuse there every time, because it seems that each time has been unique in various ways (regarding the ⁶⁰⁄₉₀ min full massage — which is what I’ve always gotten), but it’s always been excellent and I always have felt great days after. Been to a lot of great Swedish, Russian, and Korean style, as well as other types of massage places in the Chicago area. This is the first Chinese reflexology style place I’ve been to — and I love it! Definitely one of my favorites.

The services I received were excellent. I scheduled a mani-​pedi and the technician was quiet, polite, and very efficient. I was extremely disappointed however at all the surcharges. When I called ahead to schedule the appointment I added on a massage as well since I wanted to see what the full service would be like and again my therapist was phenomenal. He provided a very deep pressure massage which felt great. It was a communal room which is a minor drawback because then it does depend a lot on who is already there or who is coming in while you are having your massage. But since you are clothed I didn’t mind it too much.
HOWEVER day of, I was told I had to pay with tip before I received the service and the tip sheet in the front had ridiculous amounts. If all I had done is a $ 20 – 40 service, it does not make sense to demand $ 30 in tip prior to seeing how the service was performed first. THEN there was a surcharge of $ 2 for paying the tip on a credit card. You think someone would let you know all this prior to arriving for your appointment. And to make matters worse there was some comment on if the service took longer than 45 mins something else was charged. My service did not take that long so I was fine on that one but why should I get charged if your technician is slow or I have a more complicated service? That is why lengthy services cost more in the first place, right?
All in all the staff was hit or miss, the actual service was excellent but the set up and trying to nickel and dime you put me off BIG TIME! I would have gladly tipped more for a good service if they didn’t demand things from the beginning. I checked their website prior to scheduling and it does not mention any surcharges, it also does not have a complete list of services. Rates are only listed for 2 services and they will not go over them with you on the phone for very long.
The prices cannot be beat based on the base rates, but once you add in all the surcharges and the occasional stare down to see if you’re going to pay well… I think I’ll take my chances elsewhere. Too bad, because my message therapist was excellent.

My first time at DQ luxury was a bit of surprise. I checked Google for massage studios near me and was taken aback when I came in and saw the communal rooms. However, my furrowed brow was quickly wiped away with the best massage of my life. I am a regular at DQ Luxury and here are just a couple things to know if you are going to enjoy yourself to the fullest.
1. Be quiet as you walk in the front door. The sound carries back as the walls don’t go all the way to the ceiling. You will appreciate it when others are quiet during your massage.
2. Pay with cash — you get a discount!
3. Wear loose fitting clothing and make sure that you have pants that’s can be rolled up when you soak your feet.
4. Be prepared for an unconventional massage. This is reflexology and is not the canned massage you’d receive at your neighborhood massage envy. There are communal rooms and your clothes stay on. Therapist will work your glutes and hips so don’t be surprised when they touch areas that other masseurs tend to avoid.
5. The therapists dig deep! They will get to stress spots you didn’t even know you had. Sometimes the women will even use their knees/​elbows and crawl on your back to work out the tension. If it’s too much, you can certainly ask them to ease up.
This being said. The results are incredible. I always feel so relaxed and loose. The music playing is relaxing and the experience is something I look forward to each week! Highly recommend.

I purchased a Groupon here, and came for the mani & pedi combo deal. I was able to schedule my appointment and reschedule without any issues. The nail job was a bit lackluster for me. First my nails were not even cut straight when I asked for them to be cut down. Secondly, my cuticles were not pushed back. Thirdly the nail cutting and clipping was done so close to the skin that I bled in two areas. I bought the deal because the existing reviews were all pretty positive, but I’m starting to re-​think that the purchasing of the deals makes for a less quality job and the saying that you pay for what you get applies.

Well, today I went for manicure and pedicure.
As soon as I walked in, there was nobody at the front desk. I looked around, still nobody. I waited and after a couple of minutes the front desk person showed up. Ok, maybe they had a slow time. Then she told me to go to the room for manicure. As soon as I walked in, the lady yelled to me from another side of the room, «pick a color», not «hello, my name is _​_​and I will assist you today», but «pick a color». I was thrown off by that.
When I finally picked a color, that lady started speaking Chinese with another lady who works there. I am a foreigner myself, and I perfectly know how it makes others feel when you speak in different language in front of somebody, who has no idea how to speak in it. They made me feel so uncomfortable. I am not even talking how unprofessional that was.
Then the second lady left and I stayed alone with the «specialist», who was trying to do her job as fast as she could. I got my manicure and pedicure done in 40 minutes!!! Usually, it takes nearly two hours to make it careful and neat, but that lady was rushing somewhere (no idea where, as there was no clients for all 40 minutes that I was there). All the base and some nail polish were put occasionally and unevenly (luckily, I chose clear nail polish).
When I went to pay for my service, I was not going to leave any tips as, I believe, this service did not deserve any. Being a hospitality student, I know that people live off from those tips, but I also were taught that people, who messed up completely and who did not respect you, do not deserve them. The front desk lady made a huuuuuuuuuge deal out of that referring that I am a Groupon client and that they made already a huge discount for clients like me. Again, I understand this policy, but when you were completely ignored during the service and treated poorly, would you want to leave a tip?

Perhaps it’s unfair for me to be this picky about massages at this price range, but I’ve definitely experienced better.
The facility:
Very clean and quiet (unless there’s someone snoring who you’d definitely be able to hear). The lighting is good, but when I went, there were long breaks of silence between tracks which was really distracting for me. Other than that, the environment was very comfortable.
The massage:
The foot massage portion was great, except that was only maybe 15% of the massage. The head massage portion was also pretty good, but once she got to my neck, it just felt like she was very aggressively lotioning me, rather than actually massaging the area (same goes for my calves). The lotion was unscented, but I think she could have been a bit more generous with it because the back of my neck felt pretty raw after she was done rubbing it.
Also, I just feel like this massage wasn’t a personalized experience. For example, I know I carry most of my tension in my lower back, but that area felt pretty neglected in comparison to my neck and upper back.
If this location is convenient and you have a Unilocal deal or groupon, I wouldn’t deter you from DQ Luxury, but there are definitely better options out there.

I requested a woman but then I got a man for my
Hour massage and I felt so violated. Then they forced me to give a tip and when I gave a two dollar tip for the terrible massage the guy cursed under his breath. He kept hurting me throughout the massage and I even told him hey that hurts but it didn’t matter.

One of the best massages I have ever had. I was trying to figure out how to afford it every day… Dreaming. lol
I will be a regular. That is for sure.

This review is for their nail service. The price is reasonable for its location. I found out about this place on groupon and as many of you know… most places will honor the groupon price without purchasing a groupon. I got a no chip mani and regular pedi for $ 35. And they did a fantabulous job. Fan. Tab. Bu. Lous! There is street metered parking right around the corner. And with the location being far enough south and east from anything «touristy» which eats up parking, there are ample spaces.

Thanks to frontier airlines new seats, we needed a massage ASAP.

Honestly, southern California has reflexology on every corner and this place was the best I’ve ever had!!!

I discovered DQ via Groupon. I’d been searching for a reflexology place and this seemed like a good place to check out. I wasn’t disappointed!
You’ll get an idea of the process around this establishment via other reviews. You’re in a communal room, yes, BUT you keep your clothes on and the rooms are kept dimly lit and quiet. It’s a very tranquil and relaxing atmosphere.
The massage begins with a foot soak, along with a head and shoulder rub. I’ve seen various masseuses and have never been disappointed. Every one worked out all the kinks and knots so that I walked out fully relaxed!
For those looking for a «traditional» massage with all the pampering and perks, be forewarned. I admit it took some getting used to, but I love it. I even took my boyfriend in once and he was pleasantly surprised at how great the experience was. Go in with an open mind and you won’t be disappointed!

Have you ever had a reflexology experience that was more about the body and less about the feet while aromas of cheap Chinese food fill the air? I have.
I followed my Unilocaling heart and looked up a place for my cousin and I to experience on Unilocal.The reviews were positive and so we thought we would give it a try especially with the Unilocal special going on.
This business is on MICHIGAN avenue so I expected no less than at least a ⁴⁄₅ star experience.
We walked in, and did notice the «please be quiet» signs and asked to check in. The two front desk women were busy and asked us to sit down please. They said it rudely and abruptly. I don’t care how busy you are or how stressed you feel, don’t project onto me.
We sat. A minute later we were told our voice were too loud and the spa needs quiet. okay. No problem. Another woman walked in and also stood there waiting for them to acknowledge her but after four min they said please wait. She sat down and said «well just tell me to please wait instead of keeping with waiting». Amen sister.
They made us pay up front before the services were even done. I didn’t like that at all. What is this, a drug deal?
Fine. I payed the Unilocal rate of $ 45 for one hour REFLEXOLOGY massage.
We were taken back. It’s a room full of multiple massage low beds so you’re not alone in a room at all. It’s dark and the ambiance is a solid attempt with the music in the background. Here is the problem: the whole place smelled like a cheap and dirty version of Panda Express. It’s subtle but I was hoping for scents of lavender and other relaxing things. Nope. It smells like Chinese food.
The air conditioning vents are also super loud and when they turn on they actually drown out the sound of the music.
Oh and you know how they said please be quiet? Their own staff are talking to each other intermittently and snickering at God knows what while trying to give you a massage.
Can you tell so far that during my reflexology experience I was not able to relax and enjoy it and focused on a lot more things than I should have?
I don’t know the name of the man who was my masseuse. He didn’t speak English. He was way way way too rough. Plus he spent less than 15 min on my feet and that’s all I came for. Instead it was like a painful full body massage and best down.
I swear at one point I literally took my hand and indicated to take it down a notch. I kept stopping him. It was a violent and almost traumatic experience. Maybe i pissed him off in another life? I don’t know. But it felt that way.
The water that they offer at the end was tap water and poorly mixed with lemon. It’s gross. Avoid it.
The only good part? They soak your feet in hot water in the beginning.
The front desk woman: the both of you are rude. The younger one kept getting annoyed when I asked her a question and would scoff at some of my questions. They charge you $ 2 to use credit card for tip. Then they don’t even give you the tip to give the guy. She said something I a foreign language to him so I have no idea if he knows he was getting a certain amount. I took the receipt and wrote his name and that it was his tip. But you never know with these places. Documentaries have shown that they don’t always get their tip so I like to make sure it gets in their hands.
I don’t recommend this place. I have had reflexology in the past and it’s usually focused on the feet and not that painful.
The front staff are extremely rude and will scoff at you. The whole place in the back smells. The bathrooms are average and I’m fairly certain the toilet paper was stained with blood.
How are they on Michigan avenue? I have no idea.

First word: Wowzers!
They have or should I say had a discount a full massage for an hour for $ 33. *with happy tears in my eyes* Y-​E-​S!
No it was not the best massage I’ve ever had, but it we excellent for downtown Chicago and even better for $ 33 plus tip. The regular price is $ 45 and even that is cheaper than the average in Chicago.
So, I enjoyed my very deep tissue massage. They lost a star, because well it’s not one of those places where you take your clothes off and wear a towel and underwear. You get a massage in a quiet open room on a table while others are in the same room getting a massage as well. Wait before you assume it’s gross or lame it’s not. The lights are out, everyone is fully clothed and your massage bed has a curtain dividing you from others. You are also given a towel that covers your eyes gently so that you can enjoy he experience without having to look into the eyes of the masseuse.
My advice:
Arrive early and look for street parking
Pay in cash the pay in cash price is $ 41 the regular price is $ 45.
Do not wear make up on your face during the appointment they rub your face with lotion.
Drink plenty water before the appointment these are deep tissue pressure point massages and if you aren’t hydrated the toxins won’t move out of your body properly.
Speak up if the massage is too harsh or deep because it won’t get lighter over time.

If you are looking for an affordable massage in the area and you don’t necessarily want to make an appointment far in advance and you are fine with community style rooms (note this is not a massage where you get naked), then this place is for you. They have a great 3 massage special where you get 3 60 minute massages for $ 100 which is a steal! You are in a dimly lit community room possibly with a few other people, and you get a foot soak, and the first half of the massage is your head, shoulders, arms, and hands. Then you get the foot massage and then the finale is the focus on your back, shoulders and legs including a few pressure points and such too. You might be sore a little the next day, but they really do work your muscles!
Everyone here is nice and they definitely run a strict schedule here, where you don’t get a ton of down time after the massage to come back to reality, which would be one downside for this community style room of massage. But 3 60 minute massages for $ 100 really can’t be beat at all. So if you are on the market for a massage, you should consider this place.
