Very disappointed with my recent visit here. Ordinarily, I try to schedule my flights so that I am not sitting around O’Hare very long. Yesterday, I happened to have a three hour layover in between flights so I decided to return to Efie’s Canteen for lunch. It had been a few years since I dined here last. I recall their food to be excellent and I had really high hopes for another great meal this time. I ordered the Greek chicken entrée which came with a quarter chicken, potato wedges and salad. The Greek chicken was quite bland. Not at all how I remembered it from last time. The potato wedges were fine, but nothing out of the ordinary. The«salad» was nothing more than a handful of lettuce. No dressing, no feta cheese, no olives, nothing. All in all, it was edible, but a completely unimpressive meal. Doubt I will take the walk over to Efie’s again any time soon.

I ordered a tuna salad sandwich and then proceeded to wait for nearly 15 minutes for my order. This wouldn’t be such a big deal except for the fact that the guy who’s job it was apparently to make me my sandwich came out of the kitchen holding meat(possibly uncooked) while not wearing gloves, threw it on a grill, then stood next to another guy who wasn’t doing anything and chatted for 15 minutes. I stood there and stared at the pair of them from directly across the lunch counter. Finally he says, «what are you having?» I say, «Tuna!». He slaps some tuna between some bread, hands it to me, and goes on with his discussion. Never washed his hands. Disgusting and utterly rude.

Solid airport food — got the gyro while I was waiting for a flight in an F gate. Not the best gyro in the world, but definitely a better call than Chili’s or Cibo Express.
