Has amazing food and we get it every Christmas Eve. The tamales are the best I’ve ever had in Chicago!

The food here is great I have had tacos, tamales, and their platillos. There always seems to be a line to order but it’s ok to wait for good food

Terrible customer service. We got cheated. We ordered $ 200 worth of food which came out to only one large pan of meat, one large pan of rice, one pan of beans and salad! Then on top of that they gave us the wrong meat and told us «there was nothing we can do about it»… For real? We order pork, you gave us beef. Clearly they are two different animals. For you to tell me there’s nothing you can do about a problem YOU f’ed up on is totally the worst customer service ever. Won’t be coming back here and it’s a shame because the food can be really good.

The food is cafeteria style, the food was ok but mole next to beans next to rice and cabbage not my cup of tea, the tacos are huge they include a lot of meat and beans and rice and it’s just too much for a taco, no lettuce in this restaurant We definitely won’t go back.

Great cheap food. Especially for lunch. A little bit dirty of a place, but the ready made food is very quick and very good.

I’m so very pleased that I chose this place for lunch during jury duty instead of settling for the sad Popeye’s down the street, lol. It was lunchtime so the place was pretty busy, but they moved folks through the line at a good pace and my food didn’t take more than 15 minutes or so to be delivered. I had the chicken mole platter and a side of chips with queso and salsa. The food was very delicious, and prices are definitely reasonable for the great quality. Also the chicken, beans, rice, tortillas, cabbage, and chips was WAY too much food for one person. I could have skipped the chips for sure, but I am glad I splurged. It’s almost enough to make me want to serve on jury duty again… almost ;-) Check this place out!

This is quickly becoming my favorite taco spots in Chicago. The steak taco is smokey and loaded with meat. But all the tacos are loaded — served with rice and a cabbage slaw — they’re very filling. The service is fast and the price is reasonable. It’s a little bit of a hike from where we live, but certainly worth the trip.
Great place! Dine in or take out. Authentic feel and delicious food!

Stopped in while serving on jury duty. Easy walk. Full of cops and locals. Steak taco was enormous. I should not have ordered two. Prepared fresh.

this is the best mexican place I’ve had in chicago. Very flavourful at the same time it was great price! went there on a saturday morning, and it has its own store selling tortilla/bread and stuff, it was filled with people speaking spanish, making it very authentic. Absolutely loved the food there!

I got 2 tacos– one with beef and the other with pork with green sauce. Their tacos are not very typical, they put rice and beans in the tacos, with huge chunks of meat on top– it doesn’t have the typical onion/cilantro mixture with chopped up meat. They’re super huge and filling. We ordered it with avocado and sour cream which helped to complement the flavors really well.

TOGOREVIEW A coworker brought their pork and chicken tamales in for a birthday celebration! Well sized, not dinky. Really like the kick from the green sauce(tomatillo) in the chicken tamales. Both were delicious, will definitely make it a point to stop in next time I’m in the area!

If you want an authentic, cheap, tasty meal, El Milagro can’t be beat. I got the torta with steak and couldn’t finish it all. So filling! Get the hot chocolate! It is so rich and tasty. Perfect for a cold day. I also recommend the horchata. The restaurant is attached to the factory that makes the tortillas and chips – grab a bag or two before going home. The ingredients are quality and the staff is friendly. Plus, it’s super close to a discount mall that is fun to explore after your meal.

They honestly have the best tamales in Chicago(don’t let my mom hear that! Lol) They have a good variety of tamales such as green with meat, red w/meat, poblano pepper w/cheese(my personal favorite) and a bunch of sweet ones. On Sundays they also now offer tamales de mole which are very unique and savory. Tamales are also cheap compared to other places($ 1 each or $ 11 for a dozen) The restaurant also has awesome tacos which are different than most Mexican restaurants. They add rice and beans to the tacos so they are super thick and filling. The only bad part is they don’t have a good salsa to go with them since they give you pico de gallo instead but they are so good you forget about that. Highly recommend the Chilaquiles also since I have tried them many times and they are always on point! Kind of spicy but just add sour cream and they will be better :) I make the trip to Little Village just for their food… Awesome restaurant with great service!

Eek! I’ve been coming here for years and have never written a review?! I’m terrible! El Milagro has been part of my family for ages. The tortillas have been on our kitchen table for decades and once the restaurant opened we were there to welcome it with open arms. =) The tacos are delicious. Take your pick, carne asada, chile relleno, huevo, guisados… Whatever you pick, you can’t go wrong. They also have chilaquiles, flautas, tamales, sopa de fideo, and rice and beans. Their menu during lent is also amazing. Rajas con crema, tortas de papa, capirotada… They have champurrado every morning. Yum. Next door you will find the actual tortilleria for tortillas, chips, maza, chicharrones, nopales, tostadas, etc. Parking lot is available.

Tacos for Breakfast! Upon entering your head is on a swivel looking up at the wall menu, while subsequently looking down at the colorful display of food trays arranged in sequence for your viewing pleasure. At this point El Milagro knows they have you hooked! The cashier takes your order with authority followed by an understanding to take a seat and chill while your order is attentively prepared. The food is best described as simple and addictive. The aromatics are subtle. The menu relies on texture to compliment the contrast of taste. The carne asada taco is a prime example… as good as I have ever tasted! What’s not to like? I’ll leave the rest to your imagination… Tacos for Breakfast!

First time to Little Village, and it was fantastic. I didn’t realize that they make the El Milagro line of products right there. We purchased some tortillas, and then went next door to eat. I love the fact that the kitchen is right there. You see them cooking the food. And you see what you are going to be eating. My wife had a chicken taco. Her taco was huge, and she loved it. She doesn’t much like cabbage, but the cabbage on the taco was different, and she loved it. I ordered a chicken burrito, and it was fantastic. The flavor profile was superb. Chicken was tender and juicy, beans were flavorful and not overpowering, and the whole thing just made my day. We will be back.

For my first trip to Pilsen, my nose followed me to the El Milagro restaurant. When you walk in, its pretty overwhelming as there are a TON of menu items on the wall and a smörgåsbord of meats floating in dreamy sauces behind the glass counter. We decided on the steak, pork in verde sauce, and chicken mole tacos, a pork tamale, and a horchata. First off, these ‘tacos’ were HUGE($ 3), they are more like burrito jr.‘s. Also, the tacos come with beans and rice in the taco, sliced cabbage slaw on top, and a side of fresh tomato salsa. I was really impressed with the steak and pork in verde sauce tacos, although everything else was super tasty and flavorful. The horchata was just ok. There are a million other items I’d love to try at El Milagro so I will definitely be back/bring friends!
