My lower back and knee were bothering me for years, so I finally scheduled an appointment with Dr. Todd Peterson of EPC. Two appointments later, I have a huge improvement in both areas. Very impressed with Dr. Peterson’s ability to troubleshoot the problem and provide a solution! Would definitely recommend him to anyone with similar issues.

Dr. Patrick is the best. He is very nice and patient. I went in with very tight and sore neck muscles and was really nervous about an adjustment. He understood and reassured me and gave me time to relax. His neck adjustment made my neck feel so relaxed, it was amazing. He also treats the whole body, not just the neck. I had an ankle problem that was making it hard to walk and in just a few minutes he fixed it, and it’s been fine ever since. I will definitely be back when something else goes wrong.

I have had torn meniscus in my right knee for quite a while now and recently my left one started bothering me too. Without even examining it, my family doctor was very quick to tell me that I probably have torn meniscus in both of them and that surgery is the only option. I decided to visit Dr. Todd for second opinion and additional treatment options. Dr. Todd was very thorough, asked questions, listened and provided a lot of information about the knee and meniscus works. He did several tests to see what motions and levels of pressure causes this pain and explained how strengthening certain hip and quad muscles could help reduce pressure to the knees. He then showed me several exercises I could easily do at home. I was very pleased with this visit — Dr. Todd reassured me that there are different options besides a surgery and provided me with great tools to recovery. If you are looking for a thorough and genuine doctor to help with your pain, I highly recommend Dr. Todd and Elite Performance.

I made an appointment with Dr. Patrick for a shoulder impingement injury that I’ve been trying to treat for about 8 months with no success from other physical therapists or chiros. So I was a bit skeptical when I came in. Dr. Patrick was very understanding of my skepticism and after the evaluation designed a program with ART and exercises tailored to my specific needs. Within 8 weeks, the shoulder impingement had decreased to a point where I could lift and bench press with minimal pain, continuing to decrease with each passing week. I was astonished at how the simple exercises he prescribed helped treat a condition that I’ve had for months and one that trained physical therapists could not help with. I will be definitely going back if other issues arise since this man definitely knows what he’s doing!
Also, he’s young, cool, hip, and has a sense of humor so essentially A+.

Went in for my first session with Dr. Todd and I could not be more happy. I am a competitive bodybuilder and I went in to get my elbow pain treated along with ensuring my back and chest muscles were healthy to maximize my muscle development. Dr. Todd did some Graston Technique on my Chest and Back along with some ART. He also did some cupping on my back. For my elbow pain he treated it by acupuncture and ART. I will be making these treatment sessions a normal part of my contest prep.

Drs. Pat and Todd are a great team and helped me accomplish my 30-​day goal. I had knee surgery on Sept 1 and needed to be crutches-​free, pain-​free mobile by October 1… they got me there. I had the opportunity to work with both of them and they are equally fantastic. In the past I’ve been treated by both a SD Chargers DC/​PT and an expert witness DC, so I feel that I am qualified to compare, and the team at Elite Performance is tops in my book. I recently received treatment for lower back pain/​spine issues from Dr. Patrick Malartsik. He was very knowledgeable and understanding to my concerns. I had never received physical therapy before and he made it easy to understand the issues at hand and what we had to accomplish together as a «team» to solve the problem. He was very good at using his skills in the office and then relaying exercises to continue to maintain the progress after the appointment. He was also very flexible with scheduling appointments. I would highly recommend using Elite’s services.

I started seeing Dr. Todd Peterson at Elite after suffering a wrist injury in a bike accident. My experience with him was excellent, and has given me a great first impression of the benefits of physical therapy. He really does his homework, is a great listener and communicator, and really know his stuff. If I was experiencing discomfort and pain doing certain things, he would adjust the types of activities and exercises we did, also adjusting the frequency. He wasn’t afraid to try new approaches that could be of benefit, too! I would highly recommend Elite Performance and Dr. Todd for their overall patient treatment.

I recently visited Elite Performance Chiropractic and worked with Dr. Todd Peterson who was absolutely fantastic is eliminating my lower back pain. At my first appointment, Dr. Todd took about an hour meeting with me, patiently listening to the history of my back pain, asking questions, and analyzing my range of motion and pain. He was extremely thorough and made me feel comfortable even when complaining about a small/​nagging pain that I wasn’t sure was even warranted for a visit to the chiropractor.
Dr. Todd is extremely knowledgeable in his field and takes the time to explain why things hurt, explain best practices for avoiding pain, and best exercises for strengthening your body to alleviate future pain. After various sessions and activities, Dr. Todd had me pain free and working toward exercises I could do on my own once I «graduated.»

I just had a massage from Amelia at Elite Performance Chiropractic. She really got in there and did everything I needed her to.
I’m a hairstylist and live a very active lifestyle. This has left me with neck and back pain, carpal tunnel, knee pain and achilles heel. She addressed all of my issues in one visit. I feel a ton of relief after she worked on me.
The receptionist is very friendly. I will try the chiropractor out at some point.

Dr. Malartsik is incredibly talented, patient, and knowledgeable. He not only helps you heal but also goes above and beyond the call of duty. I injured my shoulder and was really concerned I had torn my rotator cuff. He not only gave me a script for an MRI in record time, but called me immediately after he received the results to provide them to me. I dont know many chiropractors who care this much about their patients. Thanks Dr. Malartsik; you’re one of a kind.

I was referred to Dr. Malartsik about a month ago and I wish I would have known about his practice 2 years ago when I moved to Chicago! He is hands down a miracle worker!
Very friendly staff and happy welcoming environment! Dr. Malartsik is incredibly knowledgable and informative about his profession. Not only does he know how to fix any bit of pain, but he explains step by step what he is doing and how it will help. He also does not just send you on your way after your session, he gives you stretches and exercises you can easily do in the comfort of your own home to continue the therapy between sessions with him.
For me it was years of cheerleading, dance and having a very physical job (teaching various exercise classes), that have caused me to develop pains in my low back, hip flexors and hamstrings. He went throughly through all of my concerns and issue and then step by step walked me through a series of movements and positions to figure out where everything is stemming from and where is best to start. I have a degree in Exercise Science and have a good understanding of the body but he was able to go so much further in depth and clearly explain everything to me what was going on and what we would be doing to fix the issues. I’m not going to lie, some of the movements I did were painful, but he helps you breathe through it and talks to you to help distract your mind. Once we were done I felt like a completely renewed body, it was incredible to feel so limber and loose where i had such tightness and pain before!
I had never been to a Chiropractor before and have always been scared of all the jolting popping I had heard from other places but in my very first visit he had me walking out a full believer in his Chiropractic skills and there was nothing scary or jolting about his work what so ever. He is truly the best and I always look forward to my visits instead of anxious. It is so great to have less and less pain between each visit with him… I can literally feel my body getting back to normal!
I have not tried out the massages at his practice yet, but I have heard nothing but rag reviews from friends that have been getting massages there regularly.

Last year I pulled my something in my arm while participating in Tough Mudder, started going here for PT for my arm injury. After a few short months I was back to my crossfit class. Dr Pat was awesome in getting me back to the gym quickly. I also began using the sport massages which I must say helped in post Half Marathon and Marathon. Nothing better than having Amelia DuBois release the knots after a race. Highly recommended!

I had absolutely agonising shoulder pain after work one day this week, I was in Dr Patrick’s office the next morning in a pretty bad way and he told me I had a trapped nerve.
He did some magic, showed me a good sleep position and although I was sore that day, woke up feeling a million times better. The second visit fixed it. I’m now the proud owner of a little sponge thing he sold me to make me sit straight at my desk, and a little red band which I must use to do my shoulder blade exercises. Really really pleased that he has fixed the pain but also offered some really workable solutions to the longer term problem.

I’ve seen Dr. Liz for adjustments and Dr. Patrick for ART. There’s a reason I keep coming back! These two are talented, caring practitioners who are genuinely invested in their patients’ wellness. In addition to being very knowledgeable, they are personable and welcoming. It’s a great practice and I’ve recommended it to several friends and colleagues.

Having just moved to Chicago, I originally found Dr. Patrick through the Active Release Technique website, since the most effective Chiropractors I have had have been ART certified and used it regularly in their practice.
I originally went to Dr. Patrick seeking help for my seriously painful neck I was suffering from which he did a through new patient evaluation for me first, then adjusted me, did some great ART work and then gave me several exercises to do at home which would help. I really appreciated his identification of my movement and need for adjusting my habits through these exercises. He also asked me about my daily routine, to determine the root cause as well as whatever had exacerbated it and recommended changing my pillow, paying attention to my daily routine etc. I went to him on a biweekly then weekly basis and my neck pain went away in a few weeks after suffering from it for months.
Most recently I have been going to Dr. Patrick for my horrible headaches which have had constantly and his work has proved to gradually improve my headaches week by week. I have seen him to do adjustments and ART work. If I miss an appointment I definitely see the progress go backward. Slowly but surely he is helping me to knock out these ongoing headaches and recommends vitamins, muscle creams and changes to my daily routine which I should evaluate and adjust.
Dr. Patrick and Liz his wife who is also a Chiropractor there, they are great people, super friendly and genuinely care about their patients. I highly recommend them to anyone experiencing body pain, or headaches… ART work is amazingly effective and Dr. Patrick is great at integrating this along with regular adjustments. Highly recommend them!!!

I cannot say enough good things about Elite Performance.
I found them on New Years Eve, after really screwing up my back during a workout, and they were able to get me in for an appointment the same day. I could hardly walk, and was pretty sure I would be spending the rest of my day/​night at home.
But by the time I left my appointment I was feeling great, and actually made it to my NYE party that night. I have been back several times now, and am always able to get a same day, or next day appointment, which is great when you’re in pain!
The treatments always feel very thorough, and Dr Malartsik is great at figuring out what caused the pain, and suggesting new form/​technique and stretches at home for me to keep improving on.
The location is great, parking is always easy, and the office itself is in a cool loft space.
I have appointments booked for the next two weeks, and am looking forward to the massage therapy!

I was desperado for some ART (active release technique) work and a diagnosis on my dysfunctional right hip flexor (major pain lifting my leg post heavy back squat day). after calling around the entire city of chicago for ART-​ers, elite performance was the first (and only) one to not only answer, but let me speak with the doc personally and fit me into their schedule the next morning. I guess it didn’t help I was calling after 5pm on a Thursday, but I guess that’s fate for ya. anyways, dr. p (atrick malartsik) ran some initial tests, hooked me up with an MRI later that day, and filled me in on my results the day after (a saturday, mind you). til this day, dr. p works with my schedule, coming in at 7am monday mornings to work out the tweaks in my hips and listen to my rants about lifting, crossfit, and life in general.
my sessions were more than just rehab and ART, dr. p got to know the person I am and my long term fitness goals. he personalized my time with him and focused on my weaknesses (squatting form and weak glute meds) to prevent future injuries. basically, he was just as adamant as I was to get back at it (it, being lifting). the ART work itself was phenomenal. by phenomenal, I mean incredibly painful (which is what it’s supposed to be) and effective. he worked through the problem areas and everything near and around them. within a few weeks, the chronic daily pain was gone. two and a half months later (these things take time), I’m completely back on my grind. lifting heavy sh! t and pr’ing left and right. he’s just as excited as I am whenever I update him on my most recent accomplishments and loves hearing about it (atleast he makes it seem like it).
long story short, elite performance invests in you (corny and lame, but so true).
