As always, an enjoyable time. Nice, mellow patrons pack the place. A friendly, approachable bartender serves the drinks. Clean bathrooms. Cool décor. I’m a fan.

This used to be my favorite bar back in the day… it was a Thursday… I loved the live band karaōke and dollar bottles… then they made a change and now… there is no karaōke no fun and no people. Come back with the live band karaōke on Thursdays and maybe you’ll get more customers.

Faith and whiskey… how clever of them to open up in the DePaul area. Clever guys! Domestics, Imports, hard liquor, girly drinks. they got it all. The bartenders are down to earth and friendly. The bar is a bit narrow but had plentiful seating. Lots of TVs and clean washrooms. They hold daily specials and drinks are poured very well. I don’t think they serve food here but there are lots of food options in the area. Expect the college aged crowd but other people come here too. Super diverse. Prices are very reasonable. I see faith and Whiskey in my near future.

I recently just went here for my buddy’s charity event. Due to the rsvp event, We were able to each purchased a $ 35, «all you can drink» wristband till 1 am. It was not a bad deal considering that I would have easily spent $ 50+. To my surprise, the drinks weren’t watered down and the bartenders were pretty chilled. The place itself is rather small(almost long and narrow). It was very much packed but there were still walking room. There was a live DJ in the back who played all the current hits. The crowd ranges from 21 – 30 as this right by Depaul University. Since this is in the Lincoln Park area, the neighborhood is nice and safe, and there is plenty of free side street parking after 9pm. Overall I would recommend this bar and would go here again.

Came back on a Wednesday night, and the atmosphere was so different that I didn’t even realize I’d been here before! It was pretty dead at about 9 pm, but there was a cool lady singer who took requests, and $ 4 draft/craft beers. It was just a much more casual vibe, with a lot more room to move. People were just watching hockey, listening to the singer, standing around. It’s pretty loud, so I wouldn’t come here to have a serious heart-to-heart with your BFF. But it’s not a bad joint. I wouldn’t make it a point to come here, but if I was in the neighborhood I’d stop in! Also I like their bathrooms because they have more women’s bathrooms than men’s bathrooms. BRILLIANT and much-needed solution to the long line problem.

Went here to celebrate a friend’s birthday in November and thought it was a welcome addition to the Chicago bar scene. Unlike the bars in my old neighborhood, fondly known as the Viagra Triangle, Faith & Whiskey was not packed to the gills with scantily-clad girls and on-the-prey older men. Already off to a good start. Because we were there for a birthday we went with a drink package, which was actually a pretty decent deal($ 30 for all-you-can-drink domestic beers and call drinks before midnight). I expected the drinks to be watered-down but they were actually quite well done. No complaints here(and no red cups either, as someone mentioned in an earlier review). The DJ really played a nice mix of music — mostly rock tunes, but he was happy to accommodate my request for Michael Jackson(Billie Jean… unfortunately, he didn’t have Man in the Mirror). Overall, I have no complaints about the bar — it’s slightly different from the norm, which is appreciated!

I had my birthday party here on Saturday and couldn’t have been happier with my bar choice. The bar wasn’t overly packed so friends that came out later could still get in and help me celebrate. The drink package was an awesome deal and Alex & Aaron kept everyone’s drinks filled! The music was a fabulous mix and have to give a shout out to the DJ that played the songs I requested right away… most places you would never get that. Overall a great experience for my birthday!

We went cause it was a friend’s birthday and he got a drink package. It was really crowded inside, the crowd was a mix of people, some seemed cool, others seemed like hipsters wearing sunglasses in a dark bar — not really my thing. When we first got there we got the wristbands and went up to the bar. One server took my order and another server got my friend, I was served(out of a normal glass) but my friend was denied because she didnt get the«red plastic cup» at the door, neither did I or any of our other friends… When we went back to the door guy to get everyone the very small«red plastic cup» he gave us a hard time. Finally getting back to the bar to get drinks, which by then took forever. Within 10 minutes they ran out of those stupid red cups and everyone was just using the glass ones. So it was absolutely pointless that she turned my friend down in the first place. The drinks tasted like water, and I drank a lot of them cause I bought the wrist band and I never even got a buzz there. We all agreed that place wasnt really for us and we doubt we would go back. The only nice part was that they had about 10 bathrooms, but right in the most crowded spot, so people would smack other people on their way out. Very amusing.

…first of all… upscale places like the Wit and Zed have spoiled people into thinking that drinking is tantamount to a spa day. If you want a LOUNGE then go put on your Armani and try to look prettier than the next guy at the latest hip spot. If you want to drink at a BAR… then go grab a PBR tall boy or a micro craft brew at a man’s bar like Faith and Whiskey. Gibson guitars on the wall and a shabby chic interior is swank… but not too fancy. The vibe is JUST right. Great bartenders… hot waitresses… and a thoughtful drink menu with skilled mixologists. Hunter Cannon(the owner) is really cool… and rolls out the red carpet for his customers. They occasionally have acoustic bands and great DJs, too… Belly up…

Plus a hundred for having New Holland Dragon’s Milk on tap. Minus twenty nine for serving it in a mason jar. Plus five because mason jars are kind of funny and they make me think of country night in college. Minus fifty because it was so goddamned loud at 10pm that I felt like I was in Wrigleyville all over again. Plus six because I was a big fan of the DJ. Minus six because it was Dude-Bro central. Overall? Not a bad time, just too damn loud, and too full of dudes I wanted to punch in the neck.

Never again. I’ve always wanted to stop in because during the summer there were all kinds of people drinking, screaming and dancing to the loud music. I stopped in this past fall during the week and. .. I will just say that it’s not my kinda bar. There were lots of older men and a lot of young women. There was a DJ, spinning records, which was pretty cool, but the music was so loud that I couldn’t converse with my date. I will say that they did have $ 2 Skinny Girl Margaretas that night, but they didn’t taste that good. The best part of my F&W experience was the chuckle I got when I read the sign at the door about being respectful of the neighbors and keeping the noise down– HA!!! Here’s the NITTYGRITTY I had such a blah experience here, I don’t even want to waste my time.

Faith and Whiskey reminds me of Eric Clapton. Rock and roll to the bone, but kinda cleaned up these days, like his«loose women and cocaine» days are past him. But I digress… whiskey is certainly the drink of choice, but they have really good specials on other libations as well. The staff is pretty rad, quick, and friendly. The décor is very cool, if you’re looking for old motorcycles, cool artwork, vintage guitars, and just an overall cool feel, this is the place. If the music is too loud, then you’re too old!

I have a specific reason why I only rated two stars. A couple of friends and I went out to F&W on a Saturday night and it was about Midnight. We ordered shots of Patron(chilled) from a bartender that was sloppy in her movements and seemed drunk. The shots didn’t taste right or as strong as they should be. We deducted that most likely the bartender had left some water(melted ice) in the shaker and it diluted the liquor a bit. We complained to a different bartender because by the time we had got anyone’s attention to complain, the original bartender was no longer serving, most likely because she was too drunk. We found out she was a manager and we were also given another set of shots to correct the issue. The fact that they corrected the issue, earns this place two stars instead of one.

Every time I come here, I get a different vibe. I’ve been here 3 times. Not sure why since it’s kinda a pain to get to from where I live. I find the bathrooms to be stupidly placed very close to the bar and that is just awkward. I mean I guess it’s great that they are so close to where you are ordering your drinks since drinks=going to the bathroom, but seriously, wtf. GROSS. There really isn’t any good place to sit, it’s virtually all standing area. Uhg, not cool. There is a DJ in the back. ONE time, there was a cool dude and he had great music and I was loving it. The others times, no recollection so whatever. Drinks are kinda overpriced, esp for that area, and the sign in general just reminds me of some trashy Affliction b.s. I really can never get a good grasp of what kind of people go there and I feel like the dudes are assy. There is my honest review. Had to do it, it’s overdue.

$ 5 for my trusty vodka soda with a lime in LP? Oh baby, that’s too good to be true. Yes it gets a little DePaul-ish later in the evenings, but the specials are fantastic and the space is great. Masculine details like antler«chandeliers»(A little Rockit-esque but it works), dark painted walls and TVs with funny videos and old school photos. The bartenders are great, attentive but not pushy and know how to pour a good drink. Must drink: Thursdays, $ 1 drinks!

Thursday night Live Band Karaōke is AWESOME! And so are Faith and Whiskey drink specials! $ 1 domestic bottles! Good for you if you want to be nice and tipsy enough to sing your arse off in front of complete strangers! Friendly and flirtatious bartenders kept the drinks coming. It did get crowded later in the night, but nobody in our group waited more than 2 minutes to get another drink. This bar isn’t really cougar-friendly. There was this cougar lady that seemed disgusted at all the drunk 20-somethings around her and she kept giving everybody dirty looks. A ton of us were relieved when she left because seeing that she was so uncomfortable was making us really uncomfortable. It’s kind of a college-ey bar, but its right by DePaul, what do you expect?! If you come, come for the LBK. Don’t come here for cougars.

When Metromix/RedEye decided to pick Faith & Whiskey as their go to spot for the February TweetUp, I was skeptical as best seeing the divergent level of reviews. Having this tentative nervousness I went to the TweetUp with Andre W. and Cassidy P. to this trendy Lincoln Park spot. It was dim, there was a sign for a TweetUp and the bar was jammed. Faith & Whiskey has a smooth trendy set up with large TVs pumping out the sports for everyone to check out in HD, it is dim like Tsuki down the street with select spots for illumination. The great big bar was impressive with the giant shelves behind it and antler horn lamps overhead gave the bar a rustic sort of feeling. There were two motorcycles mounted on top of the bathrooms and the bar was very clean. Faith & Whiskey was filled with generally good looking people with collared shirts and only slight hints of hipsterville. For the most part, the bar was filled with Lincoln Park professionals and it didn’t appear to have much college student element to it, which means it wasn’t amateur hour. People were dressed to impress and there were plenty of people passing their Friday night here. I didn’t have anything to drink since I am on hiatus til Easter. The TweetUp was a good opportunity to people watch and I should have spent a bit more time talking to new people, but I had a good time watching bulls and hanging out with friends. The only thing I didn’t like about Faith & Whiskey is that the music is way too loud!!!

Faith: gotta have it. Whiskey? Meh… I can do without. A girlfriend and I stopped in after a sake tasting in the ‘hood looking to keep our shiny new buzz going. It was an odd time(6 pm on a Saturday) but hey, we were full of motivation and didn’t want to crash before our 10 pm plans. We figure it’d be slow but we bellied-up to the bar, solo. Hmm. The insides look cool enough, with an edgy mix of rock n’ roll paraphernalia including photos, electric guitars, tattoo-inspired art, skulls and even motorcycles. The music is decidedly classic rock… not my favorite rock sub-genre but seems they’ve got a ‘formula’ going. If it works, great, if not– it’s okay to switch it up a bit! Beer list is standard but didn’t excite me… however, if you’re into scotch and whiskey they stock plenty of obscure selections. Our bartender was certainly sweet but the vibe was just impersonal enough to send us home to drink wine on my balcony. Maybe it was merely a case of the wrong time… hopefully not the wrong place.

In a word, Finally! I have gotten so sick of the usual McGee’s and Kelly’s and Omalley’s and Halligan’s etc etc etc Irish pubs in Lincoln Park. While I love those places, Faith and Whiskey is completely different from them in a great way. The décor is made up of framed guitars mounted around the bar, two choppers parked on top of the bathrooms and a sick mural in the back. The feel of the place was rock heavy with mesh-hop, and hip-hop accents. They offer just about every whiskey you can dream up(we were joking that were gonna have a night of trying one of each and see if we don’t wake up in a gutter in Gary, Indiana somewhere), The crowd was kind of mixed with everything from the older couples in the corner, to the bong loaded laid back types, to the usual«Chads and Trixies» you see in Lincoln Park I went in there last Saturday and had a blast with my crew. The bartenders seemed dedicated to getting us f**ked up because they kept on doing shots with us. Plus they were hot, which is always a plus. Definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a new scene. I’ll be going back soon.
