First Aid Comics

A great shop that is well organized, has great variety, and an amazing helpful staff. My son has had a bad year at school with a teacher who completely turned him off reading. I took him to First Aid Comics on Saturday to try and get him to read something just for fun. He read some comics back to back, but when I asked to buy him some more he got angry and said, «No!» The man running the shop saw it all and asked me very quietly if he could slip a free Star Wars teaser comic into my purchase of Pez. I said, yes, he did and my son read the «teasers» that night. I was so happy to see him reading again. Definitely going back.

Today i was for the first time at First Aid Comics. The guys over there were very friendly and they even called the other store to ask if they have the comics in stock that i was looking for!
Would recommend this place to everybody who is looking for a great comic store!

I love coming to First Aid Comics on Taylor Street I wouldn’t go anywhere else they treat their customers with respect I’ve been to other comic books stores and none can compare to the experiences I’ve encountered at first aid comics on Taylor Street I collect Scotty young variants and they have new Scotty young comics every week other comic book shops can’t compare if you have any questions they’re open to answering any questions on the spot other comic book shops charge subscription this comic book shop doesn’t that’s how much they love their every day customers and I will be taking my business there until the day I die I highly recommend this comic book shop if you love collecting comic books I love this comic book shop with a passion. I first started going to First Aid Little Italy to play Friday Night Magic. They have alternating Standard and Drafts on Friday nights, and EDH on Sundays. The people who play at this shop are friendly, helpful, and really fun to play with. This is not a very competitive location: That is to say, if you want to hang out with some chill people, play some Magic, and just kill time on a Friday night, then this is the place to be. They charge retail pricing for boxes and fat packs (which makes them more expensive than buying online), but it’s nice to support a local business rather than a big online retailer.
On the comics side, they have a nice selection and are always happy to order whatever you’re looking for if they don’t have it. The store owner, Tom, gives great recommendations. He’s very honest about what he thinks are good (or bad) comics and won’t just try to give you the hard sell to make you buy things. There’s also a nice selection of children’s items, and I see a lot of kids come by the store.
Also available are various figurines, board/​card games, and knick knacks (buttons, magnets, shirts, etc.) which makes this a nice place to go if you need a gift for someone who is into comics or games.

Comic book stores usually look the same. You got your endless racks of comics, a few expensive figurines, some fictional novels, and maybe a board game section. Though I’m sure keeping comic book stores orderly and clean is hard work, it doesn’t change the fact that most comic stores look the same, give or take bigger or smaller spaces.
With this in mind, what can make a comic store stand out are the people working in said comic store. A friendly face and great customer service can go a long way in making a specific comic store your go to place to get your comic book fix.
This is where First Aid Comics stands out above the rest. The owner of this place is probably one of the friendliest people I know and the rest of his staff aren’t far behind. Their customer service is fantastic and you can tell the staff are knowledgeable about at least the basics of any series you can ask them about. I’ve called them up a few times and they are just as friendly on the phone as they are in person.
This is a great place to give your comic book business to due to the friendly atmosphere, especially if you’re like me and only by comics once a month.

Two years later and I’m hooked on this store! I will never stop coming back, and Tom is the most knowledgeable man in the world when it comes to comics. I don’t know what I’d do without this store, or the wonderful people that help keep it going!

Been here just once, but once was all I needed to realize this place is great.
I came to pick up a menton 3 variant cover of an x-​files book for my girlfriend, and wound up shooting the breeze with the owner about David Mack. I wound up picking up a few kabuki tpbs I didn’t already have on dude’s recommendation. Great shop with impeccable taste!

Pretty decent shop, bargain box full of varius under rated comics, might come back for a few daredevil comics though

An amazingly friendly comic book shop! Me and my girlfriend first visited this place on a summer afternoon after we shared some lemon Italian ice from Mario’s down the street. The owner of the store greeted us with a smile and was very friendly. Being a 25 year old that likes Archie comics and Peanuts, the owner helped me out and showed me the little kids section as we talked about how great Charlie Brown is. With that alone me and my girlfriend had to buy a bundle of comics and toys. Great store with great people!

My first comic book store and I cannot get enough of this place. Tom is very helpful and patient with the newcomers to the comic book world. I love how you can send him an email and he’ll respond quickly to any concern you might have. You feel welcome when you stepped into the shop. The layout of the shop is very organized. You can find anything on the shelves. There’s a comic book for anyone too. You have the luxury to subscribe to your favorite comic books and Tom will hold them aside for you. Quick and easy system for those monthly releases. You cannot beat the service being provided here. I’ll definitely be visiting this shop for more often and hopefully expand my knowledge about comics so I can start my own collection.

Our 6 and 8 year old boys love this place. We have been coming there since the day they opened and even held a birthday party for one of our boys there. The people who run the store are knowledgeable, friendly and all around nice. The store has a great selection of comics, and a game area in the back. We are lucky to live nearby such a great comic store.

I’ve been to almost every comic store in the city and this is hands down the friendliest place you’ll walk into. Any request they will accommodate and this is truly a business that appreciates repeat customers. I only wish that their vintage selection was a bit bigger at this location, but that’s only because as a collector I’d prefer to give them my business rather than Chicago Comics or Graham Crackers. This is definitely a store for the true comic lover that likes their weekly routines and BS’ing with the employees about the running stories. Just a great store all around.

I have visited this location several times because I live in Pilsen. The owner is super helpful and the location is perfect because no other comic shop is even close in proximity.

I very large repertoire of comic books. The owner is thinking of starting a book club. He could use one of the comic books, some of them are large! They also have other cute items, like t-​shirts.
