First Siding Roofing & Windows

This review is long overdue but Jerry and his team fixed a leak on our roof a few months back and they did a great job not only is there no more water coming into our unit but Jerry made sure to follow up on his work even months after to ensure the quality of what he did. I hope nothing else goes wrong with my roof but if it does I’m calling Jerry!

Here’s a tip to the owner, who I assume spends good money as a Unilocal customer. You might want to ask Unilocal employees to get more creative if they are going to post positive reviews as part of their «service offering.» It appears the same comments are also on your competitor’s pages. I thought you should know.

Jerry and his team recently resided my house and garage. They were extremely professional, on-​time, and always cleaned up after each work day. Our was a complex job — lots of windows, odd angles and a large lot.
They did an excellent job with both projects — suggesting changes that would enhance the overall project.
We are thrilled with the end results and highly recommend them for future work.

I recently hired Jerry to wrap 13 windows and repair some siding that had been damaged on my house. Jerry came by and gave me a good quote, showed up early and got the job done quickly. He and his assistant did a great job, were very professional and were very helpful in giving me advice on my old aluminum siding. Jerry also went out of his way to pick up a new awning that I could not fit in my car. I will definitely hire Jerry for future projects and I will recommend him to my friends.

I needed a roofer to investigate two minor problems… a mysterious leak around my chimney on the 2^nd floor and an intermittent garage drip. Jerry got back to me the same day I called and set up an appointment for the following day. He quickly sussed out both problems, recommending a new roof for the garage (pointing out that a patch wouldn’t make sense because the roof in place was disintegrating) and showing me how I might be able to patch the small gap he found around my chimney… I really appreciate his honesty and willingness to point out a minor repair I might be able to do myself. Since I am a little wary of my abilities crawling out onto a peaked roof, he agreed to do the patch himself while his crew was replacing the garage roof.
Jerry was able to schedule his crew to arrive the following Wednesday (he had visited the previous Friday to provide a quote), which was fantastic… I had not expected to have this project wrapped up so quickly. They were professional, courteous, and the roof looks great, all at a fair price. Highly recommended!

This guy just did a complete tear off on a 2flat I own. He didnt gripe when there was way more material up there than expected… it was like 5 inches thick with old re-roofs…he even needed an extra dumpster. When the job was done, there was one thing that he didnt do that he said he would do. He came out immediately and took care of it. I did one more final inspection and found that a small section of the flashing didnt overlap properly on this one side where i have siding. I called him again and asked that he complete. He came out again and completed it perfectly. I gladly paid him out. Great guy, easy to work with. I really wish him well, this is how a job is supposed to go.

I called to schedule an appointment for an estimate on our gutters and downspouts. It sounded like Jerry was on a job site and told me the first available appointment would be at least 2 weeks out. He then gave me the option of scheduling the appointment then on the call or call back in 2 weeks when he hopefully has more time. Wait… what? So I scheduled the appointment for 7am this past saturday… which came and went with no call, no show. I called to leave him a message but never received a call back. I guess this company doesn’t want any new business. There are plenty others available. Thanks anyways!

Sorry my review is late Jerry. I was looking to review by his name not the company name. Anyway I had some past roofing problems that had morphed into bigger problems and leaks. I got a recommendation from my dad. Jerry had repaired his roof. Well I call he comes out on a non rainy day. Checks the roof comes down and tells me what’s wrong and he quotes me a price. I wasn’t ready to spend the money but I knew he was honest about the costs because I had done my research. Long story short I agreed to have him replace the roof. We signed a contract I paid half down the other when the work was complete. He knocked it out in 2 days. Did a great job cleaned everything. Awesome! Highly recommended. He did this for me in September so I made it through that rough winter. Yay!!!

Got the Job DONE!
We’ve been having problems with our skylights for 18 months — and had various professionally certified roofers, etc, have a go at fixing the problem. My contractor finally recommended Jerry — I wish we had worked with him in the first place!
While I was skeptical given my track record, Jerry was confident, clear, and specific about how he would fix the problem. In addition to that, he guaranteed his work, and without my asking, followed up several times to ensure that the skylights were working as they should.
I highly recommend him. He did what he’d say he would do, when he said he would do it, and then he followed up. He was honest and up front about the price, committed to working with the right materials and in the right weather conditions to ensure the job was done properly, and proactive with communication. Excellent!

We needed to replace our garage roof. Jerry was quick to respond to my initial call. He was accommodating when it came to scheduling a time to meet and was quick to provide an estimate that was very fair and less than others we had received. Scheduling a time for him to come and complete the work was effortless as well. He and another worker arrived on time, early in the morning and were done with the entire roof, plus a silver coat by 3:30 pm. They cleaned up their mess and you’d never know that our garage roof was torn off and reinstalled by how clean it was when they left. They also provided a warranty. I would highly recommend Jerry and his crew. They are responsive and professional. Something rare to come by these days.

I recently bought a house and the insurance company gave me a 2 week deadline to fix some siding and a large 2^nd story window that had wood around it that was peeling and chipping. Jerry got the work done within my short time frame (other companies were booked until OCT) and did a great job. It was quick and convenient and I would recommend his services. He fixed a gutter that was about to fall off on the side of the house for free as well.

Jerry first came out to repair our siding and a soffit after a winter wind storm. He was quick to come out (same day!) In the process, he mentioned that our roof was in need of replacement. This was, indeed, true. We had just purchased the house, and the inspector warned us of the same. He did not charge us to repair the soffit, because it would have only been a band-​aid fix until the roof was taken care of. I appreciated his honesty.
So, over the summer, he replaced our roof on the house and garage. It was done in 2 days. We weren’t required to be at home. His price was in line with other quotes we received.
The thing I liked best about working with Jerry: speed of communication. He quickly answered questions via text (generally within minutes), which was great since my husband and I are quite busy, and this was an efficient way to get the job done.

I don’t understand why the reviews for Jerry are so good. This guy was completely unprofessional and a jerk. I called him to come out and take a look at our roof. He told me he was really busy, but to give him a call back in a month (he was reasonably pleasant). Since the matter wasn’t urgent and because his reviews were good, I set a reminder in my calendar, and I called him back.
A month later, I tried scheduling an appointment, he doesn’t call me back. After I leaving a message and not hearing from him for a week (even though his voicemail says he’ll call you back within 4 hours– lies!), I catch him on the phone. He agrees to come out to inspect the roof. Within an hour, I call back and ask if we could reschedule for another day. Once again, he doesn’t call back. I have to call him back on the day of our originally scheduled appointment to make sure he’s not coming, and to get him to reschedule. These are his words:
«M’aam, I don’t do roofing inspections. You need to call an inspector for that. I am BUSY. I have work to do.»
Seriously, WTF? Are you, or are you not a roofing contractor? Did I not call you over a month ago– could you have not told me then that you don’t do roofing inspections? And what is up with the attitude? And you’re probably thinking I have nothing better to do than get my roof fixed… that I’M not «busy».
Absolutely do NOT recommend this guy. Even without the ‘tude, you can’t trust that he’s going to call you back.
Thank you, Jerry for being an idiot so that i don’t turn any money over to you. As a small business owner, let me give you a piece of advice, don’t be an a$$hole, it’s not good for business.

I can only add to the other great reviews that other Unilocaler’s left for Jerry. He’s honest, trustworthy, easy to get in touch with, and does great work. What else can you ask for? Thanks again for putting my mind to rest with the roof leak.

We hired Jerry to fix our garage siding, which had melted during a fire. He was VERY prompt in both coming out to look at the damage, and to give an estimate. The work he did was great. I would definitely rehire Jerry in the future AND recommend him to a friend.

We hired Jerry to fix leaking ceiling and are very happy with his service. He promptly returned our call, came to our house to take a look and fixed the problem next day. He explained what caused leakage and what he did to fix it. His price was very reasonable, too. Whenever we have a problem with roof, we will call Jerry.

When you notice a stain on your roof, the immediate feeling is panic. Then you call roofing companies – some of which say they will call you back, some who never return your messages, and some who never pick up the phone. Jerry was none of the above. He understood my urgency and came over the next day to assess what was wrong. He took pictures of the damage in case I needed them for insurance purposes and set up an appointment with me to fix it the following week. The cost was more than fair and I would definitely recommend calling Jerry if you need a reliable roofer!

We got Jerry’s name and contact information from his brother Greg’s (also a general contractor) company when we called there, looking for someone to do emergency/​same day repairs on a large section of our vinyl siding that had come lose as a result of the storms & high winds we’ve been having.
Jerry called us right back and said he could be out within the hour to take a look, give us an estimate, and fix the vinyl siding (mind you, we’d already called AT LEAST a half dozen contractors, NONE of whom could even come out to give us an estimate, much less repair the siding, same day!)
Jerry arrived at our single-​family-​home in the Wicker Park neighborhood shortly after we spoke on the phone and he couldn’t have been more friendly and straight forward in his assessment of the damage and what it would cost to repair/​replace the damaged sections of siding. He quoted us $ 300 for the entire job (including the cost of the replacement siding that he went out to purchase), and said he could complete the repairs within a couple of hours. We had been panicked that we’d have to pay A LOT more than $ 300 (out of pocket, due to our high ins. deductible), so we happily agreed to the price.
Jerry worked quickly & precisely, demonstrating both his skillfulness in his craft as well as his dedication to getting the job done right. Icing on the cake was the fact that he couldn’t have been a nicer guy!
I would highly recommend Jerry for any siding/​roofing/​window repairs or projects requiring a skilled contractor. Honest, hard-​working, fast, fairly priced and friendly… can’t beat that combination!
