So I’ve lived in Albany park for 2 years and had never been here til tonight. Shame on me! The owner was super nice and told me where all the fish was from, they fried my cod to order, it was less than $ 7 for a feast of fried goodness. Will be going here all the time now. Great addition to the neighborhood.

Delicious lightly fried fish. I had the walleye with lemon pepper & catfish with Cajun seasoning. I liked the Fries a lot and hush puppies were good as well. I def will be going back.

I’m always looking for a good fish place. I’m picky. I’ve lived a few miles away for the last four years, but had not tired this place. Everything was good. I’ll be back. I recommend.

I live right around the corner from Fish N Go and am so happy I do! Seriously the best deep fried everything I’ve ever had. I usually get the chicken nuggets, salmon, and hush puppies. Everything is fresh and prepared right in front of you. Super friendly cashier and the prices are dirt cheap for such awesome quality. Cash only*

This is an overdue review… I went in here about a year ago after a family member said they heard it was good. I went in with three other family members and bought food for everyone. The cool thing about that is I was able to try all their food choices in addition to mine. Everything we bought that night was really good and the prices were about average. We usually go to The Fish Keg in Rogers Park and Fish N Go was definitely cheaper than the Fish Keg! I would say a little newer/cleaner as well. Parking was a pain and so was their cash only policy. I had to walk down the street to go get cash and come back to pick up the food. I will definitely be back!

I read about this fast food place here in Unilocal and it sounded delicious. As I was walking near Lawrence and Pulaski, I decided to try it out and boy was I not disappointed. I was greeted by a lonesome elderly Latino. He told me to come in and was super friendly, always with a smile on his face as he explained the menu. I ordered ¾ pounds fried fish and a coleslaw and he told me to wait for 10 minutes as he was frying the fish. Ten minutes earlier I got my food and returned home where I tasted one of the best fried fish I have ever had. Kudos to this old man he knows what he is doing. With a friendly demeanor and godlike food, he gained a customer.

Not sure how this flew under the radar. But the food here is excellent. I had the shrimp and they were plump and very tasty. Was pleasantly surprised at how good the food tasted. Plus it’s a good value. VERY nice family owned business as well. They offer quite a variety of fish. Next time, I’ll try the wall-eye.

Very good after hours food. If you’re craving fried seafood, and you live in the area, this is a great alternative to some of the other spots like Goose Island Shrimp House. I have the jumbo shrimp, calamari, and cod with lemon pepper seasoning. They were all seasoned well and tasty!

The best fish and chips in the city. Super fresh and made to order! Such a small place you would never guess but I highly recommend your next lunch or dinner be here!

Wanted seafood on a Friday night and finally decided to check this place out since it’s within walking distance from home. It’s a small place with no tables; just stools and counters you where you can eat. Ordered the mushrooms, jumbo shrimp, calamari, clam strips, fish chips, and French fries. Everything was delicious! They do take a bit of time to prepare the food but that’s because everything is breaded to order. Definitely worth the wait though. Just disappointed in myself for not checking it out sooner. Oh just an fyi, it’s cash only so bring lots of it.

Quality seafood. Cod & shrimp are amazing, potato salad was delicious . Breaded mushroom. Eh was okay, too much breading for my taste. It looks like a hole in the wall from the outside. It’s actually pretty clean. It does take time to get your order but that’s because they use fresh batter. It’s cash only but for $ 20 we got a large order of potato salad. Cod, shrimp, and two orders of mushrooms. We were so full after. Well worth the money spent.

It’s fried fish and it’s fresh. But it’s fried, and it ain’t the best in the city like for example snappys down on Irving.

Unilocal says this place is supposed to be open. I am currently sitting outside the restaurant, and it is closed. I’m kind of upset as I was looking forward to fish and calamari for my cheat day. Nowhere on the front door does it list hours of operation. Not impressed!

Quality seafood, fried to perfection, and reasonable prices? Yes, you can find it at Fish N Go. I’m glad that I reside in Albany Park and there’s fried seafood available for my indulgence after work. The owner is always friendly and tells you what they have in their shipment today. We ordered the ½ cod, white fish, and shrimp… for under $ 20. They also included the sauces for no extra costs(if you want extra, it’s 30 cents). The wait is usually ten(10) to fifteen(15) minutes, but it’s what you would expect for made-to-order food. Their breading is very crispy, which works great on «fish» items. I prefer a bit less crispy breading on shrimps, but with their prices, I still think they are one of the best deals you can find in Chicago. The place is considered hole-in-the-wall, to my opinion, yet it’s clean. There’s no tables; there are some high chairs and wall tables if you want to dine in there. I would say that you should take it to the park diagonally across the road, next to the Mayfair Market, if weather permits. Please note that this establishment is CASHONLY. While there’s no ATM on site, Walgreens and Chase bank are nearby(Walgreens uses the Chase bank ATM). CVS isn’t far away featuring the PNC Bank ATM. All you need is $ 20 for two(2) people, and I think you can handle it, right?

I am Craving Seafood! Giving this place a try! Wow! Yes, I am starting off this Review with a Wow, I needed a word that pulled a lot of punch because honestly, that’s what this place delivered to me yesterday afternoon. Now, I love Seafood, and I love the Healthier Options of Seafood such as the grilled and baked varieties, however, yesterday I chose to try a place in Albany Park where they serve the deep fried variety, because once a year or so I just get the craving, what can I say? Guilty, I have no defense! Now, this place doesn’t look like much from the outside, and it’s a small storefront on Pulaski Road off the corner of Lawrence, but man, what this place is serving up on the inside is Killer! Well. not literally, cause I’m still here and it’s the day after! The great guy who runs this place, his name is Rick, was so welcoming and friendly as I entered and he explained to me that they had a smaller shipment than normal this week and that he might not have a few certain types of fish available at the moment. But, what I was craving was some Shrimp and some Cod Strips and some Hush Puppies which I had heard through the grapevine were pretty great, and for the record, great they were! Not only were the Hush Puppies great but the Cod Strips were the flakiest, crispiest and freshest tasting, fried to perfection, not overly greasy either. Ditto on the Shrimp! So, great deep fried Seafood which is sold at various weights, menu prices that are more than fair according to the weight you purchase. And, a great guy named Rick who runs this place and delivered me probably the best Deep Fried Seafood I’ve found yet. Well. I’m sold, give them a try, you will be too… Also, this place is strictly Cash Only, so Plastic won’t do you any good here! So bring some Greenbacks, your stomach and wallet will Thank You later.

I have went by this place a million times & never stopped in. The place doesn’t scream come on in… I wanted some fish and I was sick of Goose Island. Went here based off of the Unilocal reviews. Friendly guy who knows his stuff & takes pride in what he does! I told him it was my 1st time & he took his time & explained to me the menu & why they were out of certain items. EVERYTHING here is fresh… and EVERYTHING is breaded to order! Yes, you have to wait a little bit longer but nothing beats freshness! So glad I stopped in… I will definitely be a repeat customer!

I was in the area and thought I try it out based on the positive reviews. It is a small little place and I wouldn’t consider it a sit down restaurant but the food taste really good and fresh! I had the tilapia and shrimp. I enjoyed them both but will favor the shrimp more. I also had it with a small fries. The fries were good in taste and portion. The guy running the place was very nice and explained the different seasonings to me. I would recommend! And will be back next time I’m in the area.
