They’ve gone too far downhill to be a viable option as a taxi company. Their customer service is beyond atrocious at both 303 and Flash. Supervisor Gabrielle not competent either.

The worst experience ever. Cost me $ 180 for a ride that normally cost less than $ 100 with über. The driver kept saying all my CCs we being declined and after 30 minutes of pain between him, his dispatch and my credit card company we found out he didn’t know how to use his cc machine properly. On top of that he charged me the taxi meter rate of $ 125 but then told me I owe his more for driving out of the city limits. Honestly it was a frustrating experience. This is why Über is taking over the taxi business. Über über über!!!

What a rip off. From O’hare to Crystal Lake and was charged $ 108. (lost cell phone on vacation and was forced to). Took Über ride week before and was only $ 52. Will only us Über again. These places deserve to lose business to independent Über drivers.

Worst wait time ever! They cannot be trusted. I ordered my taxi at 2pm for 545pm but I got a call @6pm they were not in the area and I just so frustrated so I choose another method of transportation.

Flash Cab was recommended to me by a coworker. Reserved a cab for 4am to get to the airport not knowing what it’d be like to hail one in my neighborhood at that time. The cab showed up 5 minutes early (which was great even though at such an early hour, 5 minutes late would’ve been okay). Driver was friendly. Good experience!

Horrible reliability! This is the third time that we have called the night before and reserved an early morning cab… then no cab shows the next morning at the reserved time.

flash cap has saved my life. i met a crazy girl in the garage of my university, she was hammered and didnt know how she got there. she had no money and was expecting me to drive her 35mins away. i got her ass out and thats when the Superhero of the day FLASH CAB pulled up and i got her drunk ass in it!

Once again, probably the 3 or 4^th time, flash driver fails to arrive on time and in this drives away after waiting less than 3m. Very disappointed. I’ll do whatever I can to avoid them

Terrible terrible service!!! I called at 700pm. They called me back 10 minutes later tellinge a cab will be at my house in 10 minutes. 15 minutes after that, I get another call from 311 cabs telling me there will be a cab there in again –10 minutes. So this is now 35 minutes later and still NO CAB! I called them back, their automated system says, guess what? A cab will there in 10minutes. Third call the girl tells me, oh the cab # was there, he didn’t see anybody so he left!!! He didn’t call, he didn’t honk, nothing! 2^nd can arrives 15minutes later and parks his cab 5!!! houses down from me and would have left if I didn’t walk down there to get him!!!
I would give 0 stars but it won’t let me!

Terrible, rude drivers! Always cutting people off in traffic. Had one of their drivers in cab #5294 throw something at my car this morning! Will NEVER use them again! unreal!

BEST DRIVER EVER Flash #2751. After being turned down by TWO cabs at O’Hare International on July 25^th, because one of our suitcases would have to be stowed in empty passenger seat, this kind driver took us.
AND he had on hand a kid car booster seat for our 8 year old grand.
Our grandson has a syndrome that can cause car sickness… usually on windy roads. But it hit him. AND we whipped out the ever present plastic bags we carry, but were delayed and he hit the car a bit. Only minutes from home, we apologized… the gentleman driver kept saying he understood. We cleaned it up… got the hose out to hit the booster.
The driver couldn’t have been kinder and more of a gentleman.
I’d always use FLASH NOW. Always.

My experience today in Flash Cab 2323 was the most uncomfortable cab ride of my life and the reason I will start using Über for all car service in Chicago from here on out. On a trip from the Hyatt to Midway airport, the cab driver watched TV on his phone. Not only was he watching TV, he was watching a show about prank plane crashes, laughing at how scared people were, and telling me how on some episodes of the show people «$hi# their pants.» He must have swore no less than a dozen times. I am 6 months pregnant and felt my heart rate skyrocketing the whole way to the airport. He also did not run the meter as far as I could see because it appeared to be turned off. I reported this ride to Chicago 311.

Tonight I had a horrible experience with flash cab. After I ordered a cab, Flash cab called with an automated message saying the cab had arrived. It was not there.
I called Flash cab, at which point a dispatcher apologized and told me they would get back to me as soon as they could contact the driver. I am now stranded outside in an iffy neighborhood at 10:30 p.m. as I couldn’t get back into the house where I had been waiting.
20 minutes later, after I had walked to the nearest el station through more iffiness, I get a phone call that a cab is on the way. I hit the cancel button, only to hear the most irritating automated message of all time: «In the future please give us advance notice I’d you want to cancel.» **** them!

Flash cab equips their cabs with GPS transceivers, it’s how they know where the taxis are (and it’s how their app tracks their cabs). So with that in mind, when Flash cab makes a commitment to pick you up within some period of time with a special vehicle (i.e. a minivan), they should immediately know whether or not the vehicle is available.
Unfortunately, that’s not at all how it works and should you actually need that cab to show up within the specified time, expect to be disappointed.
Like many now former Flash cab customers, I am moving to Über for all my needs. Go home, Flash Cab, you’re drunk.

I fly from O’Hare every Monday morning and have been a loyal Flash customer for years however after almost missing 3 flights in the past 2 months due to my cabs not showing up at the committed time (I order a day in advance), I am done with them. I am currently in an Über I had to call due to Flash stranding me yet again and plan to just use them or a black car going forward.
This is no way to run a business! You cannot make a commitment to a customer (who is relying on your service to make a flight) to be somewhere at a certain time and then no honor it.
Fed up with Flash and moving on.

So disgusted with Flash Cab driver number 2431. He blocked my drivers way because he was unhappy with the speed he was going — and then requested my driver roll down his window so he could call him a «stupid n****r» over and over again. When I told him, with the utmost class, that he was being a racist piece of sh*t, he started yelling at me that I was a C*nt in the middle of the street. How can a company allow people like this to represent them?
I will never get in another flash cab.

I’ve used Flash Cab 3 times successfully, but NEVER again. I came to find out about Flash Cab recently when another cab company left me stranded on my way to the airport, I was lucky enough to hail a Flash Cab off of Lincoln Avenue. At the time the driver informed me that the other cab company did not have a very good dispatch service, that he had worked for them and that Flash had its shit together. I should have seen trouble when on the 2^nd trip they were about 10 minutes late, but I was traveling to the airport during the evening rush for an international flight and left plenty of time.
On my most recent experience, they completely screwed me. I was again traveling to the airport during rush hour, I had made my reservation the night before using their website and received an email and a calendar appointment as well as a text message confirming my pick-​up the next morning. The time of pick-​up arrives and I receive a phone call from dispatch telling me they are looking for a car for me… and they will call me back. After 15 minutes of waiting, I begin to dig-​out my car, now 22 minutes late I’m finally on the road. Some 35 minutes after my pick-​up time they call to ask if I still need a cab?! Who runs a business like this?
I for one will never use their services again.

The driver of cab 6509 just took a piss right outside by my car. when he realized he was spotted, he hopped in his car, slammed into my car and took off! What kind of scum of the earth idiots do you hire Flash Cab?! Not only did he pull out his dick and peed in the middle of the street in front of people but then hits my car and drives off!
He was a tall skinny man with dark hair, glasses and wearing a hat, cab #6509.

So the last time I was in the Chicago area I tried Über for the first time. Seemed to work pretty effortlessly so I used it again on this trip. I needed to get from O’hare to the Hilton in Tinley Park south of Chicago. The company I was visiting did not have a driver show up as promised so I pull out my phone and look up Über and call up a car.
I should have known right from the beginning that this was going to turn out badly when he tells me to walk up to the departure level. I figure maybe he was dropping off and wants to take advantage of the trip up but I have to walk up and to him. As I get to where he said he was waiting, there is no car. I call him back and he said he is going around again and when he showed up, it was a Taxi. I tell him, «Oh, taxi’s work with Über?» and he tells me yes.
So he turns on the meter and I start chit chatting for my 1 hour drive to the hotel. I ask questions about how Über works with taxis when i thought they competed with taxis. I am curious because the meter is on but I figured to be paying less for the Über than a regular Taxi.
You can imagine how shocked I was when at the end of the road he tells me that Über will charge me approx 50% more than the $ 69.85 meter price. I tell him «WHAT». The whore reason for using Über is to save money. WTF… I then get two emails, 1 saying it was almost double the price and a second from Über saying that the price is higher than expected and they are going to look into the charges. Unfortunately, they charge me the $ 126 fee anyway.
I specifically asked the driver if it worked the same as Über but now he tells me that there is a difference between Über and UberX. It would have been nice if he would have given that response WHEN I FIRST ASKED THE QUESTION.
Über has to take some of the blame but this cabbie held information I specifically asked prior to the ride and offered it up just as we got there, before I asked for it so he knew exactly what he was doing.

Me: No you’re not, I’m outside my house, under the street sign at such and such corner, there is no cab in sight
Cabbie: I’m outside your house, I’ll put my hazards on
Me: Such and such corner? No you’re not, I’m here and you’re not.
Cabbie: Yes, I am!
Me: No, you are not! I know I’m in the right place because I live here.

Me: So we agree, you were NOT in front of my house…
I’ve got to knock Flash down a star for one of the worst cabbies. Not only did he not know where he was or offer to put my bags in the trunk, but he drove painfully slow. Now, I freely admit that I have a bit of a lead foot, but on no major street is the speed limit 15. That’s slower than the school zone speed limit! It’s so slow we were passed twice by drivers shaking their angry fists at us. I thought we might die entering the expressway going 40. We eventually got up to highway speeds, but then we were the assholes straddling two lanes.
I really wish I’d written down his name. The experience hasn’t soured me completely on Flash, I love the online reservations and text updates, but I’d like to avoid this driver at all costs.
