The staff here is always accommodating and knowledgeable. Extremely affordable and well equipped studios. I strongly recommend this place!

Rehearsed in a million places. Fort Knox is the best. Easy access. Great gear. Professional (and very attractive) staff. Equipment tech on premises. Huge facility with a variety of rooms. Email confirmation and a call the day of scheduled rehearsal to confirm equipment requests. Fort Knox also has a rewards program. 10 hours of rental time gets you a free hour which is crazy because rental time is almost free to begin with. $ 6.00 an hour per member. Can’t beat it. Thanks Fort Knox!

Hey, so I’ve heard that these guys are back up and running. Good for them! This is a really nice facility.

I only have one complaint. This is a quote from Fort Knox’s Craigslist ad: ‘All walls/​ceiling have been acoustically treated, insulated, and sealed to minimize room to room bleed’. Their website mentions this as well.
If youve been to Fort Knox Studios you know this is a joke. If theres a band playing next to you or across from you it sounds like they’re practically in your room. a full band playing next to you WILL be 70 to 80 decibels in your room, I guarantee it. You can even hear what other people are talking about in other rooms, its that clear. This is a huge disadvantage for musicians because we have to write and talk stuff out sometimes. Coming in and trying to compose or work something out with bandmates is ABSOLUTELY INFURIATING when you have to practically shout to communicate. Ive been to plenty of practice places and this is the first time ive dealt with this kind of issue. I know its not impossible to sound proof it to where this wont be an problem. I’m positive the ceiling isnt ”acoustically treated” because thats mostly where the sound comes from. If you come in and you’re running through a setlist with your band you’re fine. But again, you can forget trying to write or talk something over. This is the only real flaw ive found. I wouldnt have written this if they didnt brag about their ‘acoustic treatment’ etc.
Aside from this I really like the place. The staff is decent, and helpful. Its clean, temp controll is good. Just make sure to schedule your jams around your neighbours’ and you’ll be fine.

Great rehearsal and studio facility. Safe snd secure with a great staff. Easy load in and load out. The rooms are really quiet and well built compared to similar facilities in Chicago. Monthly and hourly rates are great as well. I checked out a lot of places and this was by far the best. Clean restrooms. Soda and snack machines. As well as a recreation room with pool and fooseball

my experience here has only been a positive one. all of the people and players i have met here have been a wealth of knowledge, and a great fun to be around. the building is accessable to residents ²⁴⁄₇ and there are so many commodities geared toward musicians that make other rehearsal facilities look like brothels.
the front desk team is always willing to work with you and give of their time to make their residents more comfortable in a variety of ways such as adjusting temperature, lending a vacuum, cleaning the lounge after we leave a mess, taking some time to look at your broken guitar when all you did was forget the batteries (no, really, it was the gremlins that took the batteries out of my guitar), cleaning up spills late at night or just having a conversation. I am willing to admit that i have taken advantage of all of these things.
there are cameras everywhere. i cannot name a single night when i have not felt safe at this facility. i have spent afternoons, evenings, late nights and even overnights here, and i probably would not do it if i were anywhere else.
the connections I have made with curret clients and pros have opened up so many doors that i never knew existed. the people and the environment are the reason i keep coming back. thanks fort knox!

I needed to post a review here because I see there are a few that mention the issues this place had with the Alderman and the City. These issues have been resolved, the cops are not able to stop anyone from rehearsing, and access is 24 hours.
The facility is clean and secure. Rooms are air conditioned and more or less sound proof which is great.
The only reason I give 4 stars is because access to the pool table is not 24 hours

Location is excellent, equipment is very solid, staff is helpful and available, rooms are clean and ready to roll, cost is fine. Ask for a room not next to Spinal Tap, Jr., though, if you’re rehearsing acoustic or quiet material. All in all, I’m a satisfied customer.

Was a tenant from day one when originally opened as Knox Avenue, run by the management team that runs Chicago’s BEST rehearsal studios (Superior Street).
Power play among the ownership group brought in new management, who promised more profits for the owners…
fast forward 8 – 9 months, and the place is slapped with a CEASE AND DESIST ALL BUSINESS order by the City of Chicago for not only failing to procure the proper business licenses, but also for deceptive practices relatd to that…
Bottom line is one week into September, which we’d already paid in full for, we are told we should rehearse ‘at our own risk’, and if the police stop by to ask us to stop, we should… and we know the police have already done this at least once.
So…the secure, total access place we thought we had is basically not accessible. we can’t use it to rehearse, and frankly, the management has dropped the ball with regards to communicating to tenants their intent to fix the situation ASAP.
epic failure doesn’t even begin to describe it.
I have used practically every rehearsal facility in the city, from hourly spaces to ²⁴⁄₇ full access long-​term lease rooms where I resided for YEARS. This is the worst handled situation I’ve encountered in any of them.

I was rehearsing at places all over the city and this is the best place around!
Reasonable pricing, great location, and most importantly, great sound!!!
My band is really happy with our space and the owners are cool and great to deal with!!!

I was in my cousins new studio after he moved it from MG and I was impressed by the new digs at Fort Knox. I was more impressed when I saw one of the owners walking around, getting chummy with the tenants. I mentioned my carpentry background and he proceeded to give me a tour of the place and what their plans are. Talk about square footage!
If only I had musical skillz. Looks like I’ll still be singing in the shower.

Easy to get to, access around the clock and the space is truly fantastic. Just moved in and load in and load out couldn’t be easier. And you can tell from all the work going on that management is serous about the space and making it the première facility of its kind in Chicagoland. If you’re looking for rehearsal space just for you or for your whole band, this is the best place you’re going to find.

we loved the space. Clean, professional, EASY in/​out. Seemed secure. Nice staff. We’re moving our gear in at the end of the month. It’ll be a nice step up from what we’ve been used to here in Chicago. Nice place gents.

Accessible, spacious, moderately sound-​proof, and easy load in/​out. This was formerly «Knox Avenue», but has changed over. Now, there’s soap and paper towels in the bathrooms.
A real win.
