Gemini Carpet Cleaning

Used gemini again after the storage unit leaked water all over my couch. Dana came over promptly on time and proceeded to make my cream couch look pristine again. Thanks again guys!

Pros:
1. They seem to always answer the phone (even when on a job). This, though, probably contributes to Con #1.
2. Were available at the last minute, which was extremely helpful.
3. Good reputation.
Cons:
1. Not terribly upfront about the pricing. The actual price was over double the initial estimate. Conversation with Dana was extremely rushed. He initially quoted a low-​ball price of $ 80; he subsequently charged us over double for the finished product. I highly recommend that Dana take more time to explain the pricing of services, because this lack of communication results in what looks a bit like a bait-​and-​switch.
This is the pricing information that Dana neglected to include during our extremely rushed earlier conversations. Dana told us (but only when he arrived on the site) that he charged 25 cents per square foot of carpeting, and $ 25 additional for pet treatment (this was a flat rate). I would have liked to have known this earlier, to be honest.
I understand that a merchant can’t take the time to provide a flawless estimate over the phone. But there’s a big difference between attempting to provide a perfect estimate and taking a few minutes with a customer to explain important pricing caveats. I think the onus of poor estimates should rest on the merchant.
2. Decent, but not amazing, job on the carpet. I previously used a green cleaner, and was more impressed by the results. I was surprised that chemicals didn’t save the day this time around.
3. Carpet had a weird chemical smell afterward.
4. Didn’t take credit card. I respect this decision by merchants (credit cards cost businesses a lot of money), but this, too, was not explained to me on the phone. Dana said he needed a new card reader or something, which would take him about 2 weeks to procure.
In the future, I will probably go with the green cleaner. While it took much longer to dry, I was happier with the results.

I called Saturday afternoon to schedule a time in the future and they came out the next day… Ahead of schedule. This is a hard working family that is focused on customer service and satisfaction. They did a great job fast. My only regret is I did not call them sooner. I put up with a nasty stain for far too long. It’s completely gone now. My carpets and rug look great. Service, quality and value. Highly recommended.

We called them for carpet cleaning, Dana & his son came on time but the carpet cleaning was worse than any service i have ever tried.
None of the marks went away and even after drying the carpet looked really dirty.
I read all the reviews and called them but they don’t even have the right tools to clean carpets, it looked like they just vacuumed the place and left. Had to call a different place and get it done again.
Waste of time and money!

I’ve used these guys to clean my couch a couple of times and they’ve been great! Always on time and the couch looks brand new. Just a small little side note, if you need something to dry fast, this would not be it. My couch wasn’t dry for almost 6 – 8 hours after, which was totally fine for me! Wanted to throw it out in case anyone needed to be able to use it right after.

You get the actual owner answering the phone when you call. Scheduling was easy and efficient. Dana (owner) and his helpers arrived on time. They cleaned the hallway stairs in the common areas of my apartment buildings. The carpets were pretty dirty and in desperate need of cleaning. They came out great-​looking and smelling fresh and clean. Great way to start off your spring cleaning. The prices are fair as well. Nice family run Chicago small business.

Well, the service was just «ok». Dana was a very nice man and provided good customer service. I was kinda surprised at the number of people he brung with him just to clean the carpet of 2 bedrooms. It seemed a bit much. In addition to himself, there was his 2 sons and another lady. I just didnt see the need for 4 people walkin all thru out my house just for 2 small bedrooms. Of course there were a few stains that didn’t come out and i was a little diappointed, but I can live with it. When they 1^st arrived, Dana asked to use my kitchen sink but since I was already using it, I told him that he could use the sink in the bathroom. Well… after they left, I noticed that some of my EXPENSIVE hair care products were missing off of my bathroom sink where they were working at. Needless to say that I was pissed. I am not sure if the lady that was working with him took the items OR if it was a simple mistake and they «unknowingly» packed up my personal items with their equipment. EITHER WAY, THATS SOME B. S!!! Now thats more money outta my pocket to replace those items.
Also, because my appointment was on a Sunday, I only had the option to pay in cash. He said that he only accepts cash on Sundays. Wth is that all about?

Sokay, but no slam-​it-​out-​of the ballpark. Came on time, good communication. Got some stains out in one area that hadn’t come out before (to the good) – but when three stains that reappeared, we were told to DIY with OxyClean, which having had the former carpet cleaner come back to re-​do surprised me.

Dana was awesome! On time, our carpets look better than I thought they could, and he even did more than I originally told him we needed cleaned over the phone. I highly recommend him.

I just used Gemini Carpet Cleaning and all I have to say is that I was thoroughly impressed. Dana was very personable on the phone and answered all of my questions. He was five minutes early and got our large dining room/​living room areas, stairs, hallway and 2 bedrooms done in an hour and half. The carpet looks a ton better and he was honest with me that a few of the stains (they had been there for quite a while) were not going to come out with the 3 different methods that he tried. They are definitely much lighter but he was honest with me, which I appreciate. If you have any special needs, he takes them into an account. I appreciate the service he did and will definitely be using Dana again. He is personable, very affordable, efficient, and most of all does great service! Highly recommend!

I’m getting my condo in tip-​top shape to sell, so needed a thorough carpet cleaning. They did a great job & it seemed like a very good price!

At the last minute I needed my carpet cleaned after having some work done in my condo. I called and spoke to Dana that Monday and he agreed to come out that Wednesday morning, the day before Thanksgiving. Not only was he quick and courteous (actually called me 20 minutes before my appointment to see if that time would still work for me) he did a fantastic job on both my living room AND my bedroom carpet. And the price is certainly right as well (he did both rooms for under $ 100). In addition, he also gave me tips on how to prolong the life of my carpets. I’d use them anytime for both carpet and furniture cleaning!

I did not use Gemini Carpet Cleaning services but I was so impressed with his customer service during our phone call that I wanted to review it anyway. I called the guy (Dana) and he pleasantly answered directly that what he does isn’t exactly what I was looking for. He was honest, upfront, and said «Look, I could go out and clean it, I could always use the money, but for what exactly what you’re looking for you need a different cleaning method.»
He was honest, precise, but still told me if I decided to call back he’s got same day availability. I feel like my day just got a little better just by talking to someone who was so friendly.

Gemini was a terrific find. Our other carpet cleaner was not available for a few weeks, and Gemini was able to accommodate me the next day. They came promptly, cleaned well, and were reasonably priced. I hired them long-​distance, and they kindly took payment via credit card. My condo was ready for sale immediately!

I called super last minute because I wasn’t sure my condo purchase was going through, but Gemini was able to accommodate me for later that day! Dana showed up 15 minutes early and was out of there in 40 minutes! plus he was super friendly and even shared a drink with us to celebrate our new place.
The carpets look great!

My dog had a little thing that I call «soupy poopy» this past weekend and got it all over my carpeted hallway and bedroom. I called Gemini Sunday and we scheduled an appointment the first thing in the morning. Seeing as though I live in a busy area and he was coming in during rush hour, I wasn’t surprised that he was late. What I WAS surprised by was him calling me to let me know that he was running 10 – 15 min. late due to traffic. Kudos for that. I’ve had appointments where there was no courteous action taken to let me know of a later arrival time.
After he came, he greeted me warmly and got straight to work. After about 30 min., he was done with disinfecting, cleaning, and deodorizing. He also recommended cleaning solution to deal with stains that’s appropriate for my carpet. My WHITE carpet looks great — can’t see the stains. I was expecting to see remnants of my dog’s butt graffiti but there was none.
Bottom line: I’m using them again for my carpet cleaning needs.

I called Gemini (based upon the reviews here on Unilocal,thanks Unilocalers!) this afternoon to see about getting a brand new ridiculously expensive rug that fell victim to marking wars between my brother’s dog and my dog cleaned. I spoke with Dana, who gave me some tips on which products not to use (nature’s miracle, which I had already tried and it made the urine smell worse). He was out to the house within a few hours, cleaned the entire rug, front and back and it no longer smells like a doggie day care facility. If you have a stain/​smell this is the place to call. Excellent service at a fair price!

My mother, Jillian, has carpet issues. Or rather, her adorable little maltese Peppermint has some issues with «aim,» and has therefore been known to miss the pee pad. SO, she needs to have her carpet cleaned pretty regularly. She’d been going with one of the big services, but just wasn’t happy with their work. She called Dana Gill at Gemini Carpet Cleaning, and has been using him ever since. She says that Dana is very nice, takes his time, and best of all does an excellent and very thorough job of cleaning her carpet! She says that not only does the carpet end up cleaner when he does it, but it also dries faster than with the other guys. Dunno how he does that, but it sure does make the room usable again sooner. Highly recommended!

When my appointment was unexpectedly cancelled by another carpet cleaning company, I scrambled around to find someone to clean the carpet in my new apartment. Gemini was the only company was able to do it on such short notice at a reasonable price.
The staff was extremely polite and professional. They also explained exactly what they would be doing to my carpet, and even made sure that I would be okay with the scent that the cleaning supplies would leave behind.
Overall, I had a great experience. My carpets are very clean, and when I need my carpets cleaned again, I won’t hesitate to call Gemini.
