History

Established in 1967.

The firm was founded with the idea of providing the same level of service offered by national public accounting firms to small and medium sized businesses. Beginning with one client on Chicago’s South Side the firm has grown over the years to its current location on the Magnificent Mile and serves clients in six states by providing personalized quality services to individuals and businesses that enhanced their growth and profitability.

Business Owner

The bulk of Mr. Bauman’s career was spent managing his national public accounting firm, Gerald Bauman & Company, P.C. which he founded in 1967 after leaving Arthur Andersen & Company.

During the course of his 42 year career in public accounting, Mr. Bauman has served businesses in ten states as well as in Great Britain, the Netherlands and Germany.

His career has included auditing publicly held companies, investigating Department of Defense vendors, providing due diligence services on corporate mergers and acquisitions, serving as an expert witness for various individuals and companies including the U.S. Justice Department.

Mr. Bauman has served on the Tax Committee and Litigation Services Committee of the Illinois CPA Society and as a consultant to the Board of Examiners of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
