Get Nail’d

Great prices, friendly staff, and there is rarely a wait. Everyone is efficient, but never sloppy. I haven’t found a better deal for a mani-​pedi in the neighborhood. Plus, it’s BYOB. I never go anywhere else.

This has been my go to for almost two years. Absolutely love the staff and the salon. Highly recommend!

Day of Review: Needed an emergency underarm and eyebrow wax. $ 10 eyebrow, $ 20 underarm. I got what I expected. More pain then a prodessional esthatition, and eyebrows are not 100% even but pretty close.
Slightly more then I would hope to spend for the experience. The women who did the waxing was nice, they took me as a walk in right away.
Next Day: Bruising under arms from poor waxing techique.

Came in on Friday afternoon. Told us it would be a 30 minute wait. We came back about 20 mintues later. Well, all in all, it took one hour before they sat us down in chairs. Then we waiting another 10 – 15 minutes before our pedicures were started. That was my first complaint.
Second was the actual pedicure. The girl spent almost no time exfoliating my feet. I still had dead skin on my heels and toes when she was done. I mean, literally, she took about 10 seconds per foot. Then she rubbed a little sugar scrub on each foot and leg, for about 10 seconds each. She then gave me a «massage» which also lasted about 10 seconds and didn’t even include lotion! She basically just rubbed my leg for a second. The nails and polish looked ok, but I can paint my own nails… Overall, the pedicure was horrible, and despite the fact that this place is very close to my apartment, I will NOT be going back and wouldn’t suggest anyone to go there.

Love the color selection here as well as the customer service. Honestly Karen is the best. She does my nails so good! Be sure to go in and ask for Karen.

Came for a no-​chip manicure and a pedicure on a Thursday evening. Good selection of colors and I did not have to wait which was appreciated. The spa pedicure chairs are really amazing.
That being said, my pedicure was the worst I’ve ever received. The nails weren’t shaped nicely, the polish application was very poor. The technician actually messed up three of my toes when she ripped off the the toe dividers before the polish had a chance to dry– they attempted to fix, but it just made them look worse since they just kept applying globby layers of polish on top of the error.
My no-​chip manicure starting lifting on day 5 and 6. I went in day 6 to show them and give them a chance to make it right — all they did to fix was clip the excess with cuticle nippers. It is now day 9, and they are completely peeling off. I made an appointment elsewhere to get a new no-​chip manicure since I will not be returning to Get Nail’d.

Best pedicures I’ve had in Chicago. I’ve been coming here (not as regularly as I would like) for 5 years now and they have never let me down. They take their time, always have something gloriously terrible on the tv, and keep everything super clean and tidy. Hearts to you ladies!

My friends and I don’t go anywhere else for our no-​chip. This place is simply the best and is the only place where our no-​chip can last 3+ weeks. I’ve tried various other places in the Lakeview and Lincoln Park area and I always return back to this place. Its clean, classy, everyone is nice, and I get a darn good no-​chip. They have a huge selection and NEVER thin their polishes.

This was my second time going there. The first mani/​pedi I got was very rushed. I had hoped that this would be different.
The nail tech was very rough and did not listen to what I requested — a simple buff/​shine. She was far more interested in participating in the conversation around her. She was so rough that I left with a bleeding big toe. Needless to say, I won’t be back.

Got a French manicure on my short nails, not easy to make it look good. Very nice job.

I’ve been here about 5 times now and have had a great experience each time. If you’re looking for a casual environment and a well-​done manicure, I would recommend Get Nail’d. (Can’t speak to the pedis or other services, as I’ve only had nails done). I’ve found that their gel manicures look so much better and last longer than other salons I’ve been to in the city at the same price point. Also, they have cash deals, so if you’re looking to save a few dollars, I would bring cash. The only drawback might be that it can get pretty busy on weekends – so even if you have an appointment you might wait for a while. That said, they do a good job of being efficient with each client, and it’s nice to have a salon that takes walk-​ins.

My friend and I called ahead and made an appointment to come in for 2 pedicures. However, once we arrived we had to wait 30 minutes before they finally brought my friend to sit in a chair — 20 minutes later they still hadn’t even started her pedicure and were no where near close to having a second chair open. On top of that, they had no hot water for the foot bath! We decided to leave after wasting almost an hour of our time — no one apologized or acted like it was the least bit strange that they were so unprepared. The point of calling ahead for an appointment is so they can tell us they don’t have space at that time. Never going back here!

I forgot to ask for her name, but the girl who did my nails did a great job. I was seated immediately and was in and out in like 25 minutes with a perfect no chip. I’ll definitely go back

Nice job on my nails. Prices are reasonable for the neighborhood. Love my color.
New to the area, I felt like they were really working hard to make me a regular. I would go back.
Only minor issue, a little hard to understand and I felt like I got a little bamboozled into getting both my hands and feet done when all I really wanted was my fingers looking sharp. Oh welll, my little piggies look good, too now.

I just moved from Phoenix a month ago and have had the hardest time finding a nail salon that offers a full set as a service. Not only does this place do so, they are also open on Sundays! I was surprised when I called Sunday that they actually had availability for me.
I had Jenny as my technician. She was able to give me a thin full set of acrylic and put no-​chip polish over it. I typically bite no chip and my natural nails as a bad habit, so this works best for me. She was quick and efficient and my nails feel so much better!
I will be coming back.

This place is clean and spacious, so its nice and relaxing. Great start.
The service and quality of work I got by Karen was very good.
The equipment are all working nicely (massage chair).
One thing I loved is that it was busy and not overly crowded. Probably because I dropped by on a Thursday and just before people got off work.
I will observe them in my next visit (which yeah, I will go again), and see if they are consistently good for me to up the review to 5 stars.

Alright. I raved about this place 2 months ago. But after spending $ 50 every other week on my beloved no-​chip, and having my appointment screwed up 3 separate times, I am so over this place.
1. Made an appt with Karen for a no-​chip, came in on time, someone else took care of my pedicure and I thought no problem, Karen is busy and she will probably do my no-​chip. Then Karen comes over and is doing someone else’s pedicure bitching about how her appointment didn’t show. HELLO? I am your appointment! They both felt stupid, apologized, and Karen asked how my in grown toe nail is doing. Uh? I don’t have in-​growns and you’ve never done my pedicure. It got weird.
2. Made an appt for a Friday after work, came in on time to a confused face. The person on the phone had actually made my appt for Saturday. I was annoyed. At least they accommodated me with a short wait.
3. Came in on a Saturday to make an appt for the next day. She made my appt for 11am, came in on time OH– except they don’t open until 11:30, per the sign on the door.
Sure, they’re nice. And yeah, the salon is clean. But I spend $ 100 in cash at this place every month. When I make an appointment, I expect no issues — this isn’t rocket science. So 3 strikes you’re out. I’ll be at Nail Bar down the block.

I’ve only received a pedicure twice in my life, both times it was from Get Nail’d. It has become a tradition that when I visit my best friend in Chicago, we go for pedicures. I really can’t compare Get Nail’d to other places but from my limited perspective, they do a good job on your feet. The pedicures good, but to be frank, my favorite part are the massage chairs you sit on. I’ve only ever gone on the weekdays when the clientele is slow but I have never been rushed out, so I’ve literally sat in their chair for over an hour. They play movies, too, so if you go during non-​peak hours, you can probably watch an entire movie without a care in the world. There is a different rate if you pay with card than if you pay with cash so cash is recommended.
As my friend has noted, Get Nail’d is «where you get to catch up on all those romantic comedies you never wanted to see.» Can their competitors say that? :-)

Walks in are totally welcome. Beautiful salon, with very comfortable spa tubs and chair massages. They have nice section of no-​chip colors and prices are very reasonable.
