Go Airport Express

I was at O’Hare Airport on Friday February 5, 2016 trying to get back to campus. I wanted to take the Go Express Airport Shuttle because it offers a discount to Northwestern University students. When I got to the counter there was not an agent at the desk. There was a phone at the desk that stated you could call another desk for assistance. I used the phone several times but no one would answer. Another consumer tried to see if he could get someone on the phone. However, there was still no answer. I then saw a sign that stated if you could not get anyone to assist, please wait curbside near the Go Express signs and the driver would assist. I waited for the shuttle for 30 minutes. A driver showed up between 4:00 pm and 4:30 pm. He assisted the other passengers. He then turned to me and said he could help. When I told him I was going to Evanston he said he could not assist me. Even though the shuttle services Evanston. He took by luggage back inside and told me to call. When I advised him that there is no answer, he stated to let it keep ringing until someone answers. He then told me that if no one answers to take a taxi. My fair for the ride share on the shuttle would have been $ 26 with Go Express. I had to take a taxi because no one would pick up and it cost me $ 51. I had to pay more money because the driver refused service. There was room on in the van and the company states they service that area. The driver refused because he did not want to make a stop in Evanston. He only wanted to go to downtown Chicago.

first time was great! this guy the fucking worse he picked us up from the knickerbocker hotel at 10:40 to go to the airport and drove like a bat out of hell swirling i felt like i was going to throw up at one point it says it’s recording for our protection so you should see it. apparently some guy was talking alot maybe he was annoyed but i feel sick as hell can’t wait to get off to throw up my breakfast

I have used Go Airport Express over the years to get from both Midway and O’hare to downtown Chicago hotels. If you sign up for their newsletter online, you can get discount specials and use them to save a few dollars on your next ride. I reserved a spot online and entered my arrival flight information. I also pre-​paid and then just had to print out my voucher. Once I arrived and had my luggage, I went to the GO Airport desk and they told me which van to get in. They are organized by district and will group you in a van with fellow riders going to nearby hotels in the city. Once the vans are full, the driver takes you all downtown and drops each person off at the hotel. I have always had a great experience and have never had to wait very long. The drivers are courteous and help you with your luggage. You can also include the tip in your online purchase. If you don’t buy your ticket online, you can just purchase it at the airport. It is more cost effective than a cab.

I was debating if I would taxi it into Magnificent Mile or find some other arrangement. Well, the train was going to involve too much walking with multiple bags. Taxi was going to be expensive (over $ 50 estimated). So a $ 30 shared ride seemed quite the deal. A number of other travellers were thinking the same thing and there was a group at the counter in Terminal 2. No one was at the counter. Someone used the phone to call and received instructions on where to go. I was still debating my options so stayed back. Once I decided on the Go shuttle, I call myself and am instructed that I shuttle will arrive in about 15 minutes and am told to wait outside at the sign.
There were multiple signs indicating where to line up. There are several shuttle lines that service the downtown/​Magnificent Mile area. Read the signs to figure where you should line up. All the major hotels are listed. I find my line and a driver arrives within just a few minutes. Cool! Early. We then make our way over to Terminal 3 where we have to get out and pay for our ride if you haven’t done so in advance. Given that there are other folks already waiting there, you may have to wait a bit. But there are pretty good about moving the line along. It is more about how difficult/​confused the customers are.
Since there are so many travellers going to the city center and the hotels are assigned different shuttles, this makes a shared shuttle quite convenient. You aren’t driving around the whole city. Overall, the trip was very quick even though I was the last stop on the route. Our driver was super nice and definitely knew his way around the area. I would not hesitate taking them again.

I’m in the shuttle as I type this… terrible customer service and very unprofessional! Do not bother unless you have enough in your party to fill the whole van that way you don’t have to deal with shenanigans waiting for your driver to find someone in a casino.

Stay well clear of this outfit double the rate of any reputable Chicago area taxi firm from O’Hare to Schaumburg. I am puzzled how these people get a license to do business at ORD…
Although the review is admittedly short, I really don’t have much to say that redeems this firm…

On a shuttle dropping passengers off downtown hotels and my hotel is South. Two hours since boarding and I still have to ride for another 20 minutes. Don’t use this service, pay the extra few dollars and take a cab instead.

The first driver from the airport to hotel was excellent!
My pickup from the hotel was horrible. My reservation was for 7am, I walked out at 6:58am to see the shuttle drive off. When I called the service they told me the driver has a 20 minute window and will be back. He never came back. The service sent another shuttle but we didn’t leave until 8am.

I have used super shuttle and other similar services which were good to great… This was not. Late and slow. I will not be using again.
We waited 30 minutes for an every 10 minute shuttle then had to wait so the driver could figure out where we were going. Dropped off everyone but us and one other and the driver had to ask where we were going which tells you how organized it was

Beware, We order ride from downtown to O’hare airport. 24 hr in advance from their website.
On time, next to hotel entrance, stoped small regular cab and said he come to pick us up (he gor our name). Nobody told him that we are customers of Airportexpress. We had to explain him and show him
the printed voucher.
the cab was small and we had to carry one luggage in our hand.
At the drop off point the counter show 37.4 $
So we paid 50 $ to airportexpress for riding big van
and we got small cab we could have paid 12 $ less…

Zero stars. Worst service ever. Driver wouldn’t grab our suitcases until it was in range of his trunk. Keep in mind I was traveling with a baby, his car seat and his stroller. If I could get it all next to you, don’t you think I would have! Driver was missing for like 30 minutes. Insisted on filling the shuttle with people who didn’t even require his service. Everyone in the shuttle had to wait even longer to get to their destination because the driver was standing outside asking random people if they needed a ride. I didn’t think I was supposed to wait an hour to even get to my damn hotel. Fail. Never again.

Your customer service is BS!!!
You need to realise first of all that people travelling in your service are internationals and therefore may jot have LTE service like we Americans do!
Scenario
I had ordered a shuttle service for my little sister coming fron London to America. She called me saying she found their booth and will get on the shuttle when it comes.
She is supposed to come to presidential towers I. Down town and 1.5 hours has passed by and she’s still not here
So my first concern/​question is did go express airport driver pick her up on my order number and if so with he enamel ticketed marked where is his location?
I call their helpline and they say aomehwre downtown REALY ???

These folks appear to be the exclusive shuttle service for the McCormick Place Convention Center as they had a table set up in the West building. My sister and I were attending a convention and needed a ride from the center to O’Hare on Sunday afternoon. I visited their table on Saturday and they suggested I make an online reservation to make sure I got a seat. I took their advice and on Saturday evening I paid for two riders on the 12:55 shuttle from the center to O’Hare.
When I arrived at the convention center on Sunday morning I stopped at the table and verified that I had all the correct information and showed them the QR code and the reservation, and they said I was all set. When we showed up for the shuttle at 12:45 we were told that the 12:55 shuttle had already departed because it was full and the next shuttle was not until 1:45. They suggested we take a taxi and said they would issue a refund. Luckily we had no issues taking a cab, but it seems like Go Airport Express needs to watch the Seinfeld episode about the difference between taking a reservation and holding a reservation.

Too slow, not enough buses. Had to wait one hour! None of the passengers had paid had to wait for them to go back and pay. They should have made them catch the next bus. This is dreadful!
Will be taking the an Über the on the return trip. Should have taken the train,
it would have been faster!!!

We were thinking of taking the train from Midway to downtown Chicago. Decided not to because we had a lot of baggage with us.
Instead, we booked online with Go Airport Express. Everything went smoothly. The shuttle van was right outside the baggage claim area at Midway Airport waiting for us. The driver was friendly, and we got to our hotel in good time safe and sound. They also picked us up from our hotel one week later. Again, everything went smoothly. They notified us by text message that they were on their way. The driver also called us when he arrived at our hotel for pickup.
Would we use their service again? Based on our experience, absolutely! They are less expensive than taking a taxi.

I’ll make this short and sweet. Go got me to my hotel and then back to O’Hare promptly, efficiently and at a good price. Courteous, quiet driver who thankfully, made no throw up stops. I’m a lousy passenger…
I was the only passenger on the way to the hotel. Just perfect. On the way back, we picked up five travelers who spent the ride hacking up a lung. Either they all smoked too much or were sick. Nauseating. But that’s not the company’s fault.
One critical comment. These shuttles spend way too much time idling. A colossal waste of gas. Someone ought to look into that.

Trip started out great for my wife and daughter (15 months old). Hopped into the van and was ready to leave the airport at 4:30pm, apointment time was 4:50pm. The van left on time. Chicago traffic can be bad so we figured they would be to the willis tower by 6:15 (knew they had to stop and drop off other passengers)
Long story short: driver dropped them off at 7:00pm, a block and a half from the Wacker entrace), did not help my wife unload the suticases, stroller and carseat. When she told him they this was not where I was meeting her he told her «that is too bad I am late for my next pickup»
Since my wifes phone was dead I tried calling Go Airport Express. I gave the dispatcher my wife’s itineray, name, that her phone was dead and time she left the airport. Dispatcher told me she didn’t have the drivers cell/​number and there is nothing she could do. Just that they should arrive at 5:50pm. That would have been great if it wasn’t already 6:59pm at the time of the call. She then told me to just wait and they could arrive soon.
Nothing like seeing your wife carry a car seat, bag, baby, and stroller while being late for a dinner…
Won’t use this company again and wife can’t even begin to say how upset she is .
Save your money and take the blue line from the airport. At least you know it will drop you off at the right place and the train driver is more likely to help than the Go AIrport driver.

I write very few negative reviews but this one warrants it. My experience went like this (I’m rounding the prices as honestly I don’t remember exactly and the sign with prices on it was covered up.
Me: I’d like a shuttle to Majestic hotel please how much is single and round trip?
Emp: $ 32 and $ 52.
Me: I’ll take round trip.
Emp: Fuddles with computer at least 4 minutes… why is it $ 67? Calls someone. .someone comes over. .10 minutes into this. Another employee comes over. I’m sorry that’s not considered downtown it’s $ 67.
Me: how much is single trip?
Emp: $ 32
Me: so you charge $ 4 extra to buying rounnd trip instead of two single trips? hands credit card.
Emp: laughs…“apparently I don’t know”…presses a few buttons. «Why is it coming up at $ 37 now?
Me: can you please just charge me WHATEVER you need to charge me so I can use this «express service»
Emp: hands me ticket and gives me directions to curb.
Curb agent: you’re going to Lakeview? Did you tell the agent inside you’re here?
Me: SHE HANDED ME THE TICKET and told me to come out here!
Anyway we go back inside and wait at least 20 more minutes for a driver to come. The driver was nice and apologized and said he thought they needed to fix the suburban service too. I had to stop at all the downtown hotels first and he dropped me off last
NEVER ever again will I go through this!!!

Two stars, because my ride from the airport was pretty uneventful.
I had pre-​purchased my reservation online and what I’ve come to realize is this:
If I am not pressed for time, I will take public transportation for around $ 3. The train doesn’t have to sit in traffic on I94.
If I am sort of pressed for time and I don’t feel like sitting in a van crammed in with 8 other people I will take a cab.
From the airport, made a reservation, (not that this matters, but I guess that’s one step out of the way because I had my vouchers printed ready to go). Not that we actually left when my reservation said we were going to. Drove around picked up 3 more people, sat in traffic (unavoidable) was the first one dropped off.
Made a reservation to be picked up at McCormick place at 2:55. At 2:18 I get a call asking if I can be ready in ten minutes, eh. ok. I get my stuff together. We pick up 2 people at the convention center and we’re under the impression that we were heading to O’Hare from there. Nope. We’re going to make 3 more stops in the opposite direction and drive downtown in the midst of the St. Patrick’s Day Parade to pick up people at 3 (yes 3 different downtown hotels). We did not get to the airport until 3:55. I sat in that van for over an hour and 20 minutes. Mind you my flight was at 5:10 and the anxiety this endeavor produced. I would have taken a cab with the 2 other people at the Convention Center if I had known we were going to go on an hour run around of downtown Chicago.
I just don’t understand why/​how there weren’t any other shuttles that could’ve picked those people up downtown and let us leave from McCormick Place. There would’ve been plenty of people leaving the conference needing a ride.
Lesson learned, share a cab.

What a disaster.
The shuttle driver forgot most of our destinations on our way into the city, and even dropped a foreign tourist off at the wrong hotel. He was distracted while flirting with a passenger, it seems.
Given how long it took to get to the correct hotel, a cab is well worth the extra expense.
