Granite Dezigns of Illinois

First of all let me start by saying if you purchase from granite designs go through Nino he is the best. His help selecting a slab of granite was greatly appreciated. Not to mention the price and quality of the granite was excellent as well. If you are looking for a fancy showroom this is not your place but if you want great quality granite at a great price this is your place!!!

The price was very reasonable for high quality granite. Beny came out and measured on Tuesday and the countertops were installed on Thursday in a little over an hour. I read the reviews AFTER we contracted with them so I was somewhat nervous. My mindset was the result could be hit or miss. It definitely was a HIT and I’m very Happy with the product!

We like the granite counter top from this company. However, they did not measure my kitchen sink correctly. The new cabinet is good for 30 inch under mount sink. But they choose a 32 inch sink. As the result, when they came to install the sink and granite counter top, they have to cut the cabinet so the 32 inch sink will fit in. Also, when they install the counter top on an island, the counter top is not leveled very well.

The deal was the best by far. The granite is really high quality. The installers they use are really good at what they do.
They cut our granite just right for the most part but there is a bit of an offset to our corners. So they don’t have the greatest attention to detail. It doesnt bother me much, but it is there.
The customer service is pretty dismal, but for the price you get what you get. If you are going with a simple cut, simple job — go here.

I used them for the installation for my new kitchen counter.
CUSTOMER SERVICE: PAINFUL. They may be cheaper but you will suffer! Beware, poor customer service all throughout the process, from quoting, scheduling, and installation. Language barriers don’t help the situation. Constant follow up is needed to move things along. Even though they promise to return your call, they never do.
QUALITY: HORRIBLE!!! Measurements were off, granite cut too short with small chips all along the corner and edges. I have a counter that is wider on one side than the other, the corners are not square. We have a strange 1″ lip «due to shortage of stone material», but they never advised me of this. I would have bought another slab immediately! I found this strange lip 10 minutes AFER they installed it and they told me that there was nothing they could have done because 1) its already installed and glued and 2) it was due to a shortage of the material. Ugh
Another part of the counter was over 1″ away from the wall so it left a huge gap between counter and back splash wall. When I questioned them on this they said, not to worry, the new back splash tile would fill the gap. Guess what, it didn’t! I had to rip out dry wall and reinstall to fill/​hide the gap they left because they didn’t measure right.
Furthermore, in 2 other areas I had rip out dry wall or add pieces of wood to fix the unevenness and gaps. I have spent $ 2000 in rework of drywall and carpentry to fill all the gaps and fix their mistakes.
My refrigerator and stove dont fit flush because the space to fit the appliances isn’t squared, so my appliances have to be slightly rotated and crooked in it’s space.
I considered having someone rip out the counter they just installed but the stone I used was so hard to find and we cant live without a kitchen long enough to start the whole process over again.
I was so looking forward to my new kitchen, and Granite Dezigns ruined it. THere are so many obvious errors, that it’s unbearably irritating. Please, please save yourself the frustration, anxiety and disappointment.

Granite Dezigns customer service was terrible! They can’t even spell their name correctly!
I was given their name and number by a friend so I assumed I would be getting taken care of. The granite that was delivered and installed was completely different than the sample I got which was supposedly cut from an actual slab. I was later told by the office manager that that was an old sample and that my salesperson should have informed me that our slab would be totally different.
When I called to complain about the severe difference in color between my sample and the granite I got, I was told that there was nothing they could do and the salesperson was in the wrong and I would have to go through her to get compensated. My sales rep was flakey and never responded to my questions/​concerns. The granite I got does not match my walls, or my cabinets. I am pretty disappointed.

First off all, they had the best price, that concerned us at the beginning, but we still decided to go with them. We went there picked our own slab of Granite. After a few days they came and measure our kitchen, and few days later they came to install. They were fast, professional, and above all they did an amazing job. Our granite counter tops are gorgeous. Granite Dezigns of Illinois staff is awesome, and pleasure to work with. Thank you guys!!!
