I used Ardi last summer to install a multi split ac into one of my properties. I was not too familiar with these units but he was very knowledgeable and patient with my questions. I was very impressed with how fast he took care of everything for me. From beginning to end, Ardi was organized, professional and very fair in pricing. I would definitely recommend Greenleaf Mechanical Services! This year, I used Ardi to install a new AC unit and high efficiency furnace into another property. He was knowledge about Nest thermostats as compared to other contractors. Once again, he was very efficient and followed up with me. He would contact me if there was any questions before proceeding. I have nothing but positive comments to say about him. I would definitely use him again for any HVAC needs.

This is the second time I have used Greenleaf for furnace problems. From the first phone call, to being exactly on time for the appointment we scheduled, the service I received was absolutely fantastic. Within minutes, the problem was identified, part was purchased from Home Depot, and the heat was once again working. Extremely courteous, polite, explained everything so that I truly understood what the problem was. Very honest and fair pricing. Would HIGHLY recommend!

Awesome service. I am new to Chicago and did not have any references. I checked out Unilocal and saw recommendations.
I called and Ardi was at my door in less than ½ an hour. He found issue with furnace that would not heat or stay on. Fixed the issue within a ½ hour and only charged me for service call.
Ardi explained everything to me and made suggestions to keep system running. I will call him again and highly recommend.

Ardi installed NEST at our building. Not only was he on time, quick and efficient but he was honest about the work, gave us tips about how to use NEST efficiently, tips on building/​landlord code and what to keep the heat at, and even was honest about not knowing a whole lot about our particular boiler system and still taking the time to recommend what to look for in a company we might hire and gave a few potential recommendations, stressing the importance in looking at reviews and doing research before. On top of this he was an absolute pleasure to work with throughout the whole process. Not sure if i’ll have a similar job or anything else Greenleaf can handle in the future, but if I do have something in line with their services than I’ll be sure to go to Greenleaf and Ardi first! NEST is good to go and working great!

I purchased a mini-​split A/​C for my business from Greenleaf I think 3 years ago and from meeting Ardi to talk about options through til today I have been so happy with the consistent, courteous, and reliable service I’ve been provided. Especially after shopping around; relative to all the other A/​C companies I’ve dealt with Greenleaf is by FAR the most reliable, honest and professional A/​C company I’ve dealt with. And there’s basically no one else in Chicago to go to for mini-​splits.

Went with Greenleaf for a central A/​C installation. It was a fantastic experience.
Ardi was very forthcoming and very patient with all my questions and hesitation. He took his time and made sure to explain the possibilities and choices. He was extremely professional but also a pleasure to talk to. A great mixture of all-​business and friendly. We had one point of contention (these things happen), but we discussed it and he handled it professionally.
He gave us quotes on a number of different options and was very upfront about what he would suggest, but not pushy. What was best for our house was more expensive than we could spend. Once that was understood, he set about making sure we got the most appropriate set-​up for our house and for our budget. Greenleaf’s prices were pretty comparable to the other bids we got. Greenleaf did give us many more options to choose from, though.
Here’s one anecdote I think people should know: once Ardi gave us a quote for a few different options, I called him to say that we decided to go with one that wasn’t the cheapest but the next one up. He made an appointment to come over the next day and finalize the deal. I started to have second thoughts that evening about whether it was worth the extra expense, etc. When he came over the next day, I told him I was having second thoughts about our choice. He said that he was thinking the same thing and (even before I told him) suggested that the more expensive option wouldn’t be worth it. So, he recommended the cheapest option! That made me feel even better. Obviously, I was happy to spend less, but happy that there was no hard sell, no up-​selling, just straightforward talk.
Central A/​C is a pretty big purchase, and I felt comfortable with making this purchase with Greenleaf. I have no problem recommending them to anyone who’s looking for HVAC work.

Arti was pretty awesome! He came out 3 seperate times to look at our broken A/​C unit. He was extremely professional, courteous, and very diligent in his work. I felt he was fair with pricing as well — you could tell he is very honest and isn’t trying to get over on you. On top of all of that he uses top of the line products which is never a bad thing. Highly recommend!

Extremely happy with their work ethics and their professionalism. They offer competitive pricing without over selling you. The work is a great balance between efficiency and aesthetics. They answer all your questions and provided a simple to read estimate. The pricing is upfront and there are no hidden charges or surprise. The completion of the work occur within a reasonable timeframe.

Had issues with installing the NEST system due to me having a triple zone set up and called them after being on the phone all day with customer support. I should have done this from the beginning. Artie was here within 10 minutes and had it up and running in 30 minutes. Even showed me how I could get the most out of it. What a great service and even called to follow up. Will definitely ensure to call them for routine maintenance.

Not only has Greenleaf come to help install our Nest system but they also just came for what we thought was a complete failure of our humidifier as well. When Arti arrived, he quickly diagnosed the problem: stupid homeowner! While we thought it was broken, it simply was turned off in the Nest system. Technology prevails again! Arti took the time to show me how to replace the humidifier pad (which it so desperately needed), instructed me to which pad I could purchase from Amazon, and showed me how to adjust the humidifier settings through the Nest. He didn’t even charge me for the service he provided. Hands down the most thoughtful and professional technician I have ever had in my household. Greenleaf will certainly be getting more of our business when the time comes for annual cleaning and maintenance of our HVAC. Thanks again!!!

Very happy with this service. Broken furnace — subzero temps. Came out within an hour on a Sunday afternoon to take a look. Part purchased and fixed a day later. Repairman Ardi was very nice and he even tolerated my crazy 5 year old son watching his every move. Pricing not the cheapest but still reasonable. Because of the emergency situation and the excellent customer service, I was happy to pay it (well, as happy as you can be spending money on a broken furnace).
Also should add that Ardi came exactly when he said he would both days. I have never encountered that with a repair service before!

Greenleaf mechanical installed a mini-​split ductless a/​c system in my condo. The system they installed works beautifully and quietly and is very reasonable priced. Every aspect of the process of working with Ardi from my initial research on the system to getting an estimate to the installation to the regular maintenance has been incredibly positive.
Ardi is remarkably patient and thorough and took way more time than other contractors to answer my questions. He also proposed a much more carefully sized installation than the other contractors I talked with, and the sizing he recommended turned out exactly right. In addition his bid was better priced than the competition.
Like other reviewers have mentioned, the other companies I talked to tried to sell me a bigger system, way more than I needed, and Ardi’s recommendation of a smaller system with two total indoor units and one compressor outside was far more accurate and as a result operates far more efficiently.
I am in an older building and spent a lot of time looking for a reasonable central a/​c system and the ductless mini-​split system is amazingly quiet and cost-​effective. Even on the hottest days of the year running on the lowest fan setting it keeps my entire six room condo perfectly cool. And it so quiet it honestly isn’t possible to hear the fans running.
Ardi does super clean and careful work and he also has been meticulous in maintaining the system. I have worked with many contractors over the years keeping up the maintenance on our older building and Greenleaf stands out as the very best.

I bought a Nest thermostat, and I’m pretty handy, so I thought «no problem». After taking my old thermostat down, I realized that lining up the Nest, it’s rig, and the existing hole were just enough to exceed my experience level.
Greenleaf was one of the certified installers mentioned on the Nest website, and the only one that answered their phone, when I called for an estimate. They came in on the low side of the places I tried, and their Customer Service on the call led me to try them.
The installer was a wonderful guy, really personable, and went about his work with no fuss. He was nice enough to acknowledge what had blocked my efforts, while making small work of it himself (ego intact, lol). As was promised on the Nest and Greenleaf websites, he took the time to set up the device and explain the features. Asking me if I had any questions made me feel like a person, and not another service call.
I’m in Customer Service, as well, and i don’t recommend lightly. Greenleaf earned and deserved this positive recommendation.

After receiving a Bungalow Association grant for insulation, I decided, after decades, to finally tackle the unheated attic. I read reviews on both Angie’s List and Unilocal,with Greenleaf receiving high marks even if the number of reviews weren’t huge.
I had serious contractor fatigue after phone calls for heating, drywall and electrical work. Ardie came through to look at the space and I had such a good feeling after our 30 minute conversation. Then the 2014 winter hit — and every contractor in the city was up to their eyeballs in emergency repairs. We picked things back up in late February, and even with the looming deadline from the Bungalow Association, Greenleaf was able to get started on the project.
I am so very pleased with the work and found Ardie and his assistant to be a joy to work with. He was totally flexible that the job had to be split — install the furnace, wait for the Association to insulate and then come back to finish the work. He is very thorough in explaining the process, had me come up to the attic several times to explain what was being done and why. I learned a lot. As a female homeowner I always appreciate honest, adult, professional information from a vendor. I’ve had a lot of work done over the years, and I pretty much know how to weed out the knuckleheads.
Now I have this huge, beautiful, warm, open space for a bedroom suite. Job well done.

In this extreme weather, had to call a dozen heating repair places. No answer, or I just couldn’t get anyone to come to my house in the near future.
Called Greenleaf, and they arrived that afternoon. Fixed all the problems at a great price and kept me updated with all of the information that I needed to know.
I believe my repairman’s name was Artie? Maybe not– but all I know is that he explained all of the problems to me step by step and could not have been more helpful.
Will use again if needed, but I hope I won’t :)
Fantastic customer service.

After a fairly extensive search for a contractor who could replace my existing (and very dated) air con and furnace I settled on Greenleaf. There are many options out there, I liked the personal touch and the quote was very reasonable. We also checked it with a family friend who’s in the business (but out of city) and he said he’d be happy with it. We also have a town home so some contractors do not even come out to these properties unless they bring a crane or two people (to quote even).
My wife loved that they always put shoe protectors on when coming through the house, the small considerate things were always there. The Greenleaf team were always mindful of getting the ‘right’ solution for our house and we ended up downsizing on the compressor (from 4 btu to 3.5) and the humidifier, small price savings and we were presented with both options before we decided together which way to go.
Job complete and we’re v happy, we also got the Nest solution fitted (they’re a Nest certified installer too), again they came over and explained how everything worked together. This is a tough space to find a great service that you’re confident that you’re not being ripped off. I have no hesitations recommending this company to friends neighbours and fellow Unilocalers!

Ardi sold me on the 4 way split ductless LG system for a large 4 bedroom brick bungalow. The system he recommended would have no units in the two downstairs bedrooms. I was very concerned that this would not be adequate. He assured me it would work very well. Other companies attempted to upsell the 6 and 8 unit systems. One company wanted to upgrade my electrical service along with installing this system. Greenleaf Mechanical gave me an estimate that was about 2 thousand dollars less than the next highest quote, and 5 thousand dollars less than most. Finally, I went with it.
Well, we love it. They were prompt, worked fast, and the result is amazing! The unit in the kitchen and the unit in the living room cool the whole first floor, including the bedrooms, just like he said they would. This split ductless system is awesome. We can cool only part of the house if we want to, or the whole house.
Ardi was able to make do with my antequated electrical system by installing a separate breaker to the main line into the house bypassing the existing breaker panel. Oh, and for you guys out there (and geeky girls) they don’t use the copper pipe unions that come with the system to pass the refrigerant. They cut them off and braze the connections to ensure there is not even the slightest air leak. That was the deal maker for me. A lot more work, but worth it in the end to ensure our install works at it’s highest capacity.
The split ductless LG system is amazing! It comes with a heat element! In just 3 short days our house has entered the 21^st century. We can enjoy the radiant heat in the winter with no forced air blowing dust all over the place. While at the same time enjoy a clean high efficiency cooling system that cools areas of the house or the whole house if you wish. Thank you Greenleaf Mechanical!

We hired Greenleaf Mechanical to re-​do the existing ductwork in our 2 story frame house built in 1905, and we also asked them to install central air. The ductwork had been installed by the previous homeowner around 1960 and contained limited supply work. No return ducting at all. So they had to basically redo it all from scratch. We had 2 quotes and Greenleaf was the lower of the two by about $ 100. But the price was just the first nice surprise working with Arti and his team.
From start to finish, Arti did a great job of explaining the options to us and going over each detail of the installation so we understood what would be necessary. During the install they remained courteous, clean and always came to us with questions instead of making assumptions about what we wanted done. The work was phenomenal and our home has been much more comfortable ever since the system was installed. An even temperature between floors and near windows. Can’t wait until the weather gets warm enough to try out the new AC!
