History

Established in 2005.

Galdy has been an international, professional groomer for 10 years. He has owned both dogs and cats his entire life, and he has a sincere and earnest affection for animals, which is communicated in all his actions. His warmth is felt by the animal almost instantly and allows Galdy to bring out the very best features of a pet’s personality and breed. He enjoys a wide and enthusiastic clientele.

The most important element in determining the quality of pet grooming is the experience and artistry of the groomer. Grooming by Galdy employs the most experienced and talented groomers in Chicago. Each of our groomers has ample experience in professional grooming. While each person tends to specialize in a breed or size, they each groom all breeds of dogs and cats with superior ability.

After researching several dog groomers and hotels to keep our little guy for 10 days, we decided to go with Galdy, and I can’t even express how happy we are. Gio came back looking and smelling like a movie star. Grooming by Galdy is top notch and very professional and very accommodating. They picked up and dropped my dog off and also went to my vet to get something he needed while I was out of town, guess you could say this is gios home away from home !

Anytime we go out of town for the day or weekend I call Galdy to look after my little guys. He and his team take such great care of all the animals brought to them. This time he went above and beyond going to my home twice a day to feed and play with my 2 cats so they didn’t have to leave our home! I wouldn’t call anyone else

Like most pet owners, I regard my 2 dogs as mychildren. So, when I must board or groom them, I want to be sure they are in the best hands. Galdy and his team do this. They are able to get me in quickly when I am in a pinch. My boys always come home happy, groomed, and tired from playing with all the other dogs. One of my dogs is special needs and has extreme anxiety during the grooming process. I’ve never met somebody Who can cut my dogs nails without having to use a muzzle or some sort of sedative. But Galdy can do it and my dog has grown to feel very comfortable with him. Galdy and his team offer the right price, and the best care for your babies. I would not put this up here with five stars if I did not truly feel comfortable every time I left my sons with them. I can’t imagine going elsewhere.

My dog Eddie is verrrrrry particular with who he lets around him, let alone groom him, but he ONLY trusts Galdy! The staff is so incredibly friendly and Ed loves playing with the other dogs when he’s there (to the point he doesn’t want to leave haha), such a great environment! He always returns super soft and looking like a total stud. I love bringing my little guy to see Galdy/​team and I highly recommend– it’s Ed approved!

Brought my two dogs in for grooming today for the first time at this place.
They did an amazing job. I could tell my dogs felt relaxed and were not stressed at all.

These guys lost our 12 pound dog for nearly 5 hours! Supposedly our extremely strong 12 pound dog broke off the leash when on an unscheduled walk and was missing for 5 hours, only to be found across the street from the store.
Since the story does not make much sense, I believe we are being lied to. Either way we will never trust this place with our dog again.

Excellent! This lovely place is the right place to go for cat grooming. Where most groomers do not do cats, Grooming by Galdy is an exceptional example of a fine pet grooming service. Our Norwegian Forest Cat Joy has a double-​coat of fur, which gets matted pretty quickly, Galdy was charming, efficient and got our cat back to us sooner than expected — and she obviously enjoyed herself because she didn’t wet the carrier! I’m calling them to get our Maine Coone boy Jasper’s (razor) claws clipped.

My girl is a handful! She wants everything her way so trying to do a bath or nail cutting myself is a disaster. Somehow these guys can get away with a nice bath, deep brushing and nail clipping without her freaking out! Guess that’s why you should use a professional to do this kind of work on your pooch! THANKS Galdy for taking such good care of Sierra whenever I bring here for a spa day!

I’ve been meaning to write this review for a few weeks. We took our dog Gizmo in for a grooming and we couldn’t be more happier with the whole process.
This was a first time for us having a dog that needed to be groomed. They offered great advice and she looked great when it was all said and done.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this business.

Galdy is wonderful. They are extremely reasonable, accessible and do a great job on my Shetland Sheepdogs. Often when I comment on how beautiful a nearby dog is, the owner will say, «Oh, we just went to Galdy! They’re fantastic.» I couldn’t agree more.

My two Coton de Tulear arrived home from Galdy looking absolutely beautiful. Galdy was amazing and so kind to me when I called telling I had sold my car and now needed someone to pick up and drop off my girls since I had decided to go «car-​less in the city. I had searched the internet for days looking for a groomer who would come to my home. Then I saw the reviews for Galdy and they were excellent. Well it is true. My two girls arrived home safely and happy and as a bonus his pricing is very very reasonable. I can’t believe more people don’t know about him. What a guy! Love it. Everything said here is true. Had a cat brought in and I imagined the worst. You’ll get bit for making the smallest wrong move. I watched as they flipped him over and shaved his belly, and I swear he enjoyed it!

We have probably tried 8 different groomers for our Shih Tzu and when we would pick her up we were always disappointed– not what we asked for, ears too long, scabs from being clipped to close. Well I tried Gavi yesterday and we finally have a place we’ll come back to. Nice cut, friendly staff and a great price! Thank you!

Amazing service! The staff is so friendly and the prices are so cheap! For a haircut nail clippings and wash they charged me a flat rate of forty! Every where else they wanted to charge sixty plus. Overall just great service for an unbeatable price. Will be returning soon!!!

I called in the late evening wanting to groom 2 cats expecting to have to wait a week for an appointment, but they scheduled me for the next day!
This place is amazing, especially for dogs (I think they also have a doggy day care service and a lot of dog stuff). The place is clean, set up well, and has a bunch of toys and products for both felines and canines.
I brought my kitties in, left them there for about 2.5 hours (one of my cats has a weak leg that tends to get really matted), and received a call when they were ready. They looked and smelled AMAZING, and they seemed much more relaxed then when I had first dropped them off. They were given ADORABLE Batman bandanas which they surprisingly didn’t take off. The pricing was extremely cheap for the excellent service I received, and there was nothing but commendable customer service the entire time. This is THE BEST PLACE to go to groom your cats (and dogs), and as long as I live in Chicago, I’ll only be coming here. FANTASTIC service. I cannot say enough kind words about this place.

I tried to get an appointment elsewhere with no luck so I was surprised that they were able to schedule me in for the following day. I wasn’t very descriptive about how I wanted them to cut my yorkie’s hair because I was concerned that he had a little matting but I was pleasantly surprised that they brushed it out with ease and didn’t lose a lot of length. I will definitely be bringing my puppy to them in the future.

The groomers here did such a wonderful job with my cat! She was a rescue and had bad mattes that she wouldn’t let us brush. I called in and they were very helpful over the phone and were able to take me the very same day. I really thought that I would get the call that they weren’t able to get her under control enough to groom her, so when I got a call about 30 – 45 minutes after I dropped her off I thought the worst. I am SHOCKED that they got her in the bath and shaved and in such a quick period of time. When we picked her up, she was calm, smelled amazing and looked super cute. To boot she seems to be in a much better mood/​more cuddly since getting her mattes cut off. I am so happy with their service and would recommend them to anyone! Will definitely be a repeat customer.
