Holy Cow, Harry Caray’s is outta here folks. Oh well, it was good while it lasted. Actually, it wasn’t. Sorry, you just can’t convert Hi-Tops to Harry Caray’s. All the housewives on Southport throw sweaters and footies on their pooches, but they’re still just dogs. Speaking of, did you see what Michael Vick did last night? Wow! In any event, for someone who has been entrenched in this neighborhood for over a decade, I never quite bought the transition. The coolest thing about this place is you can actually find a seat, and you didn’t have the line to the corner like you did when it was Hi-tops and old men used to wait 55 minutes to watch 23 year old girls from Schaumburg dance on the bar to Brittney Spears & Outfield remixes. The food was good, I’ll head there on Friday night for one final dinner. Whoever moves in, please show the PPV fights again, and bring back the dance music. Let’s not allow the potential within to go to waste in Round 3. I look forward to going to the next Harry Caray’s, as the establishment is a must for all tourists and has a storied history, but don’t try to follow up the latest and greatest rat-infested Hall of Fame Establishment. That’s the equivalent of playing a football game at Wrigley Field. Goodbye Harry’s, it’s been real…

Good location, great food, speedy service. Good for single diners or groups. Homey feeling space. Like the spaghetti + meatballs with meat sauce. Polite wait staff, fresh bread served at your table. Suprisingly upscale dining room for a sports themed restaurant. Also the prices are appropriate for River North. Got no beef with this place!

What’s up with the bathroom attendants? If chicken wings are considered staples on your menu — your restaurant is not at a caliber worthy of a bathroom attendant. I’m all for preserving jobs, and perhaps there’s some union thing that I don’t know about, but tipping the attendant(or feeling guilty for not) each time you go pee(frequently, if you are taking advantage of the Miller Lite special) is ridiculous. Food is meh… the location downtown is nicer, but still not worthy of a bathroom attendant. That’s crap.

My friends and I decided to take advantage of the $ 15 brunch and bus to the Bears game since we all live on the north side. When I first walked in, I was immediately impressed with the drastic transformation from what used to be a bar that sold beer in bins and distributed mardi gras beads. They really gave it a face lift, with a lot of wood detailing throughout, making it a competitor with some of the newer bars that have popped up on Clark in the last few years. The food was good, consistent with the Harry Caray’s downtown. We had brunch and the cheesy potatoes were delicious! Pairing that with $ 5 bloody mary’s and $ 15 buckets of beer, is a perfect way to pregame. The only real issue was that there were 4 servers standing at the bar, while our waitress was the only one working the entire room. It took forever to get drinks, food and water. Honestly if the service wasn’t so horrible I would definitely give this place 4 stars.

Holy Cow. I love that Harry Caray’s is one of the few bars in the city that has a bus that takes Bears fans to Solider Field during home games. There is a brunch special where you pay 15.00 dollars for the Bus and some money off your brunch. The plus of this is that there is beer on the bus and James the bus driver is AWESOME! Can I marvel at the drink special …3 dollar Miller lite, 5 dollar Bloody Marys and Bloody Maria’s, for a Sunday! Lots of Tvs and a plenty of seating. Great busboys who made sure our water was full. I was in love with this place until our server came to our table. If she was friendly, or didn’t make me go to the bar to get stuff. I would give this place a perfect 5, but the waitstaff was horrible. I would understand if this place was packed and there was only one server, but that was not the case. There was plenty of tables open and 3 to 4 servers, so she wasn’t busy. I was annoyed that she forgot our beer order TWICE and didn’t bring the Tabasco sauce or asked if our meal was enjoyable. I mentioned to her at the beginning we are doing the brunch special for the bears game, so I didn’t think I had to remind her again. Well I did because our bill came and we were charged the extra $$$$ for our brunch which was considered in the price of the food. And when we brought up the extra charges, she decided to put the blame on me for not telling her. I was like. manager come here now! I wish I can give this place a perfect 5 because of the Bus, the location(Wrigley and Red line) and the drink specials but the food and the service made me not want to come back and eat.

Hard to believe that this is the old High Tops space as it is everything that High Tops was not, and I mean that in a great way. A group of 10 of us went after a Cubs game. We got great seats in the back and the staff helped us to move a few tables together so that we could all sit at one table. Drinks were quick to find their way to our table as was the food. While we only had appetizers, chicken tenders with hot sauce(delicious), quesadilla’s, and sliders, the food was a okay for bar food. And the servers were also doing a very nice job given how busy the place was and the size of our group. An even bigger plus for me? Clean bathrooms. i don’t know what is happening around Wrigleyville these days– but this is the second bar I have been in during this season that has perfectly clean bathrooms(the other was Sports Corner) so unlike the sticky, sloppy messes from before. Whether you sit upstairs or down, there is a ton of natural light with the windows and skylights which is nice. In fact, it was so sunny in there that we had to move over a bit not to have it in our faces. And the dark wood tables, chairs and bar, are a lovely complement to the mosaic tile floors. The music was an interesting mix of oldies(80’s) with today’s hits. There were even people dancing on the dance floor located in the back complete with a DJ spinning and the requisite flashing lights. And, of course, for you sports fans, there are a ton of TV’s located everywhere so you don’t miss a moment of the action. All in all– a great after game experience, and not just by Wrigleyville standards. I’ll be back.

I finally stopped in to Harry Caray’s after watching the Cubs get crushed last night against the Brewers. There was no cover to get into the bar and that there wasn’t an hour long wait to get in! That’s always a plus. There was actually a table to sit down at and that our waitress came right over and was very attentive. That’s another plus! We only had the artichoke dip appetizer but it was pretty good and definitely helped towards the cure of my soon to be hangover. it wasn’t the best artichoke and dip ever, but it was good. The food seemed to be priced pretty accurately and drinks were not priced that bad either… especially in Wrigleyville after a game. Many of the bars in that are over charge like crazy. Not a bad place, not too filled up, nice interior and out door seating, attentive servers, and tons of TV’s to watch the game!

Holy Cow! I had to say it… I mean this is Harry Caray’s Tavern. I have never been to any of the late great Chicago Sports icon’s restaurants or taverns. This was my first foray and I was looking forward to it. This one is the one located diagonally across Wrigley Field. We came here after running the Bastille Day 5K in Lincoln Park. The place was pretty empty since it was a Wednesday night with no Cubs game in sight. We took a seat right by the big screen TV and proceeded to order. We tried the Buffalo Chicken tenders for apps since there were only three of us. I ordered the Holy Cow Sirloin Burger with bacon and provolone thereby negating any of the calories I just burned running a 5K. I probably burned 340 calories running and consumed 8,345 calories(ok this is slightly exaggerated). I didn’t order any suds since I had a long drive home, but I sure wanted to. The chicken wings came out quickly and were plenty tasty & spicy. Our lovely waitress made sure we never had to ask for a refill which is always a bonus in my book. The food came soon thereafter and I was ready to get it on like Marvin Gaye. The burger looked absolutely delicious, but did it taste that way… well did it!!! In baseball analogy this burger was not quite a home run, but a stand up triple. It was pretty scrumpdelicious but the beef could have been a little more succulent. I ordered it with the fries which were generously sprinkled with salt therefore making me want more Coca-Cola. The meal was solid unlike the current Cubs pitching rotation. I will be back to this place, and I will try to find my way to the other Harry Caray establishments. A toast to you Mr. Harry Caray, as I’m sure you are in the pearly gates butchering the pronunciation of peoples last names.

i was pleasantly surprised by this little bar right next to wrigley field. i’m not the biggest sports bar kinda guy and this one wasn’t half bad. could have been because we went after gay pride, but who knows? my pulled pork sandwich was perfectly cooked, if the BBQ sauce wasn’t mind blowing. my bloody maria was fabulous. kudos for making a good bloody. too often the drink is made with absolutely no flavor and this one was packed with goodness. i don’t know if i’d ever return, but i wasn’t unhappy i stopped. love, juston

This is one of my many neighborhood bars, and it used to be my stand-by for decent food. However, the last few times that we’ve gone here, the service was HORRIBLE. Example: Order an entrée, 15(yes, 15 minutes later) the waitress informed us that the kitchen was out of it. Re-order, again letting waitress know of a food allergy, and low and behold, 45 minutes later when the food was finally delivered, the meal included the allergen! And the food was nothing special after nearly an hour wait for typical bar fare. They have a Sunday brunch which impressed us the first time, but it’s subsequently gone downhill. If you want a decent all you can eat brunch, head to Stanley’s.

It works. Generic, but gets the job done. PLUSES(and caveats): Excellent Service(but it wasn’t busy) Yummy buffalo wings(but the busboy kept trying to take away my plate!) Our reserved space for a bday party was honored(but the rest of the bar was empty on a Saturday night, why?) MINUSES: No specials because it was a Cubs gameday. Um, the game was at 12:05 and it was 10pm? Get over it! And your bar is pretty much empty except for us…

All of these Wrigleyville bars start blending together after a while, especially once you’ve had a few brews. Harry Caray’s Tavern is another in a long line of sports bars in the shadows of Wrigley Field. I suppose if anything stands out at this joint, it’s the giant flat screen. There are TVs everywhere, and as someone else mentioned, it’s a sensory overload(in a good way). The DJ was playing your typical dance music when I was there. He immediately accommodated song requests, which is wonderful.(There’s nothing I hate more than a DJ who’s so arrogant he won’t play what people want to hear.) On game-days, people pour out of Wrigley Field’s Gate D and head straight for Harry Caray’s as if they’re being herded by a sheep dog. It’s tightly packed, but for comparison’s sake, probably less so than Murphy’s Bleachers. About what you’d expect when the Cubs are in town.

«Oh, it’s just a bar». For whatever reason that’s what all my guests from out of town say when we go here. I’m really not sure what they were expecting, maybe an announce booth where you can do your own play by play with the legend himself, a hall of fame museum, or maybe a video arcade. Regardless, if you’re from out of town and not familiar this is just another Wrigleyville bar, named after a local legend. Harry’s has sort of an Irish bar feel with the standard wooden bar, that features signed picks of celebs on the wall(who I assume visited). Food is fairly standard pub grub that’s on par with most other restaurants in the area(meaning average). Service has always been pretty good when I’ve gone. If you’re looking for a burger and a beer it’s not a bad option. Overall, Harry Caray’s doesn’t really separate itself from most of the other bars in the area.

I’ve been to Harry Caray’s Wrigley location a few times and never been disappointed. Their specials are pretty good. The latest food special I’ve had the chance to take advantage of was their half price burger bar. I had a very tasty bison burger with sauteed mushrooms and onions on a pretzel roll for about $ 5.50. It was a good sized burger and came with fries or pasta salad. It would’ve been worth it even at full price. The servers are always nice and being one of the newer bars in the area it’s still pretty well appointed and comfortable. I’m slightly confused by the large trough sink between the men’s and women’s restrooms. But, in the grand scheme of things it’s not going to keep me up at night. Definitely worth the money for tasty food and drinks in a nice sports bar.

Hey Hey Cubbies! If you’re in the spirit of some true Wrigleyville action, stop by Harry Caray’s before/during/after a game and join the madness! It’s a little pricey, but there is no where else cheaper to go to! I’ve never ate here, but isn’t everyone on «drinking their dinner» in this place? :) It’s a prime spot, just cross corner from the marqee!

Came here for some drinks before we went bar hopping. They had some pretty good specials and ample tables. Service was a little slow though. Really not much else to say since I wasnt here too long. I have heard good things about the food from friends though.

Walking into this place is absolutely awesome — the pictures plastered each available piece of real estate demonstating his longevity among atheletes and stars. The food was good — the mozz sticks were fresh and not frozen — however if he knows that the moon is made of cheese and he would slather it with BBQ sauce and wash it down with a cold Budweiser. I love the chips that they bring out for you to snack on — midwest kettle chips speak to me like a devil woman temptress. Overall, I will visit every time I come to Chicago.

Too expensive. Too crowded. Pretentious. Overrated. Why is it cheaper to buy a beer in the stadium? This is not a good place to hang before a game unless you want to fight for a table and be «bumped» into by old men. Frat boys, Cougars, Old men… enjoy yourselves, it’s all yours.

LOVE! Perhaps it was the beer I had already consumed at Wrigley. Perhaps it was the high from a Cardinals win. Perhaps it was just that this place is awesome! I admit I was skeptical — I mean, it IS Wrigleyville, after all. But the line to get in moved quickly, and it was packed but not obnoxiously so. Service was great. Fellow patrons were fun. Beers were cold. Bathrooms were CLEAN. Music and accompanying music videos on their 10,000 flat screen tv’s was freaking fantastic and made me want to keep partying. Great spot for some post-game partying that is douchebag free. Didn’t have the food, but observed it looking mighty good at other tables. Yeah. LOVE.
