History

Established in 1989.

I started my own private practice in Lincoln Park 25 years ago in the Medical Center of Resurrection/​St. Joseph Hospital on Sheridan and Diversey, and for the last 16 years have been located at 2551 N. Clark Street. Over the years we have had the good fortune of consistent growth due to existing patient referrals. We pride ourselves in providing exceptional services while developing treatment plans that are based on the needs and desires of our patients. Our services are comprehensive, and in addition have established relationships with many of Chicago’s finest Dental Specialists.

I moved to Chicago from my home town of Cleveland in 1984 to attend Northwestern University Dental School. After graduating in 1988, I fell in love with Lincoln Park, decided to start my practice here and ended up living in the area for 17 years. One of the greatest rewards to being established here, are all the many friends and relationships that have been built. Not only with long time patients, but also on a professional level with many Dental and Medical Specialists. Our motivation is to continually improve our services and our communication with our patients. I believe this is the key to success!

I started seeing Dr. Sood as my dentist over ten years ago. Although I wasn’t a model patient (especially at first due to dental anxiety) he’s always responded to any emergency I’ve had and always given me excellent and reasonable dental treatment advice and referrals if I’ve needed periodontal or endo treatment. I recently had some LONG overdue work done by Dr. Sood. I’m ALWAYS seen on time, I don’t think I’ve even had a chance to sit in the waiting room! He has quickly and painlessly worked on my teeth including build up (preparing for a crown) crowns, fillings and teeth bonding. I now live Downtown where I’m surrounded by dentists, but after not finding the right fit for me I decided to go out of my way to see someone I trusted. I am so glad I did. Dr. Sood is extremely honest, kind and the work I’ve had done by him has been beautiful. He is a perfectionist in the best way possible. Who wouldn’t want their smile to be perfect? I also would like to say thanks to his WONDERFUL staff. It’s obvious he hires the best dental assistants, receptionist and hygienists in the profession.

Great first dental experience in Chicago !!! My wisdom teeth had been hurting really bad. So, my friend gave me a reference to Dr. Sood. It was easy to get an appointment the very next day. My appointment was at 11:15 AM and I arrived a little earlier (as I was told) to fill up some paperwork.
I had to wait for 10 mins and then I was taken for a panoramic X-​ray. The assistant was friendly and since it was my first time, she helped me understand the procedure.
Then I sat in a room for 5 mins (some good music and magazines to look over) before the doctor arrived.
Dr. Sood was friendly and listened to me carefully before he started looking at my teeth. He suggested that I should get my 2 wisdom tooth removed. He asked me if I wanted to get the teeth removed the very same day and then helped me get an appointment with a dental surgeon.
Overall, a very good experience I would definitely recommend Dr. Sood to my friends.
Advice — I read some negative comments about billing. I suggest that if you have a dental insurance, then you should call your insurer to make sure you are covered. As a customer you have every right to know the cost of your treatment. So please ask the assistant about the cost and talk to your insurer to avoid any last minute surprises.

Dr. Sood is an incredibly down to Earth, efficient and caring dentist. Hands down the best dental practice I’ve ever been to!
The entire staff is friendly and the wait time has been minimal with each visit.
I know it sounds crazy but appointments don’t feel like a hassle anymore. Even on a nice summer day, I found myself looking forward to a root canal! I don’t think many people can say that about a trip to their dentist!
But wear a Tigers ball cap just to tease him. He always booed when I wore mine!

I have seen Dr. Sood for 10 years. Dr. Sood runs a fantastic dental practice. I’ve never had to wait in the waiting room and they always call and mail reminders. Billing is a breeze. I particularly like his dental hygienist team. Kathy and Lavoynette have been the two I have seen most and both are skilled and careful. In Chicago, I wouldn’t go anywhere else for my dentistry needs!

Dr. Sood and his office is truly top notch! His staff is extremely prompt, I’ve never had to wait past my appointment time, which is really rare! In addition, the hygienists and staff are extremely professional and courteous. Dr. Sood has administered my first 2 fillings and he is very gentle and considerate of my comfort level! I wouldn’t go anywhere else for my dentistry needs!

I have been going to Dr. Sood for about 4 years now, and I can honestly say he’s a dentist that actually cares about the well being of your mouth. I’ve highly recommend Dr. Sood to everyone I know, and the ones that have taken my advice are also extremely satisfied.
After having some really terrible experiences with previous dentists, including being pressured into doing procedures that where unnecessary and eventually costing more money, as well as having one dentist take a lot of money and take off within a few days. Needless to say its nice to finally have a dentist I can trust.
It’s a tough task finding a dentist that you can trust, but if you’re reading this review you can relax, there’s no need to keep searching.

Fifteen weeks since the incident and Dr. Sood has still not reimbursed one penny for my losses. After the incident he insisted he would pay all my medical expenses. After he has realised the extent of the damages he got his insurance carrier MedPro involved. Since then his insurance carrier refused any payment. Dr. Sood feels that he is somehow not responsible for any of the damages, yet the photos, doctor bills and expenses show otherwise. Multiple attempts to contact Dr. Sood including one this week go unanswered.
Do not trust this dentist his actions clearly show he is dishonest, unreputable and has no ethics!

Dr. Sood is great. I have overheard him with his other patients he is always so lighthearted and kind to everyone. I really appreciate anyone who treats all their customers the same way. I also called him on a Saturday night about pain after a filling and he called me back the next morning eventhough I said it wasnt an emergency. He didn’t seem the least bit bothered and took care of the problem the very next day (nothing was wrong with the filling– it just needed to be shaved down a bit to make my bite more comfortable). After he fixed it I the pain disappeared by the next day. He also took care of cleaning my bite guard and didnt charge me anything.
You can just tell that Dr. Sood genuinely cares about his patients and about providing the best service.

I’m glad Dr. Sood is getting good ratings, because he was pretty cool. My experiences with him were fine, and he had a nice, dry sense of humor. But the hygienist (is that what they are called?) was kind of put out that she had to she had to do some serious scrapin’. Yes, it’s my fault that I waited two years to go to a dentist, but I was just out of college and as a kid, they took us pretty much only when we were in pain. Anyway, she kept huffing and carrying on, and the entire thing was kind of funny (rude people are funny, I think – or perhaps it’s best to see them that way).
The real problem was that she tried to charge me twice what it was for a cleaning. The only reason I went to Dr. Sood was because he put a coupon in the Reader for a $ 40 cleaning. The hygienist charged me $ 80. I’d like to say that I threw $ 40 down on the table and, before leaving, made a memorably snide remark, but I wrote a check for $ 80. This was a long time ago, but it obviously still bothers me.

I started seeing Dr. Sood maybe a year and a half ago. I had recently moved to the neighborhood and thought I’d look for a new dentist as my previous one was nothing special. I was at P. S. Nails across the street and saw a card for Dr. Sood, noticed that it was around the corner from my house, and decided to give it a try.
Dr. Sood is wonderful, but my first impression was that he has a wonderful staff working with him. His dental hygienists are excellent and personable. I’ve never had to wait– they are always running on time. They are also very accommodating with changes in appointments.
About 2 weeks ago the wire on my permanent retainer (I have a wire glued on the back of my bottom teeth to keep them from moving back to where they want to go) popped off on one side. My mouth was raw at the end of the day from the wire jabbing the inside of my cheek and tongue but I eventually ended up cutting off the wire that had come loose. I still needed the rest of the wire taken off and a new one put on. I called three local orthodontists to see if they could see me ASAP. None of them had any appointments within two weeks and none of them seemed to take patients after 2pm. I called Dr. Sood’s office thiniking they could refer me to someone but the receptionist said she thought Dr. Sood could deal with the retainer. They got me in within the week, at 5pm (and charged me $ 100 less than I was quoted by the other orthos). I was in and out in under an hour, voila! Lifesaver!
I’d recommend Dr. Sood to everyone– from start to finish it is always a good experience.

I haven’t been to see Dr. Sood in a couple years now (my laziness mixed with never having trouble with teeth) but was pleased with the service I did receive. The staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The office has a comfortable setting as well.
My first trip was a bit of an emergency when a wisdom tooth got infected. He quickly diagnosed the problem, showed me in detail what he saw, and helped setup an appointment with an oral surgeon for the following day to get the teeth removed. This was quite helpful as I was in considerable pain.
I’ve also had some other cleanings and it was as pleasant as going to a dentist can be. Never was pressured into other procedures and was given honest, straightforward answers. Pricewise it seemed in line with other places in the neighborhood.
If you’re looking for a good dentist in the area, I’d give him a shot. The next time I get off my lazy butt for a cleaning, I’ll be using him.

Oh, thank God. I have finally found a dentist in the city that I trust.
Dr. Sood was recommended to me by my boss. She gets very anxious about dental visits and had nothing but great things to say about Dr. Sood and his staff, and she strongly recommended him when I mentioned I needed to get to the dentist. Good word of mouth? Plus 1.
I made an appointment for me and my husband. I thought it was strange that they scheduled us both for the same time, and I fully expected that we’d have to wait forever to get in. I was wrong. We got in to the office, and I had just enough time to write my name on the top of the new patient paperwork before they called me back for x-​rays. Amazing!
Dr. Sood wasn’t in the day we were there, but it didn’t matter. The dental hygenists that saw me and my husband were careful, gentle and smart. They went over things that I have never talked about when visiting a dentist’s office in 30 years of going to the dentist (which I found a bit disturbing but at least I got the information now). I left feeling happy and motivated to really take care of my teeth and gums and actually looking forward to my next visit. Crazy, I know.
My husband had a similar experience. We walked out of there and he said that he’d rate the experience a 10 out of 10. We are so happy to be under the care of Dr. Sood and his staff.

I’ve recommended Dr Sood to many friends in the area as well. I’ve lived all over the country, been to MANY MANY dentists and this is… BY FAR… the best dental experience I’ve ever had! I actually always look forward to my visits!
